We had breakfast and an evening meal and both were excellent 👌
The bed was comfortable but a bit on the small side.
The shower had mould in it and you could see where it had been leaking.
The room looked a bit tired and needed updating.

We chose the hotel to go walking on Ilkley moor and the location worked, although it is about a mile to the start of the classic walks. The hotel was great; the staff very friendly and we used the bar both afternoons which had a good choice of beers and cocktails. Room was large with a large bath and the beds very comfortable
The food was very good, but on each day there was something missing from the menu that we were going to go for. This seemed to change on a daily basis, so what was missing one day may be back on the menu the following. All the food was great, but not always the choice we would have made.

Our room the honeymoon suite was nice with the balcony it helped that the weather was really good

Being right on top floor with no lift access. (Didn’t realise how many stairs when booking).
Two very large lamps on bedside table leaving very little room for glass water/phone etc. the mix of modern and antique looked strange in the room. (Room9)

The Wheatley is warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. The whole place is full of warm, homely touches and the standard is excellent. We hope to return when the weather improves.

Excellent room at the front of the Hotel, which was roomy and very comfortable. The first night was in a smaller room which was not suitable, but we were moved without any problem and were very satisfied. The breakfasts were first class, perhaps the best we have had in a long time.
Evening meals were also excellent, freshly prepared and of high standard.
The location was great, very quiet and easy access to many towns and attractions.

I booked the honeymoon suite, would have liked a few little extras, maybe bath robes and slippers.

Breakfast was very good as was location. Parking was easy and help with luggage carrying was available.
Service was also good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ambience was enjoyable.
A lift to the top floor bedrooms would be an asset as carrying down items of luggage was difficult for someone with an incapacity.

It was very busy when we arrived and although the service was very good we felt as though we had just dropped in for a meal rather than being a resident.

Friendly and helpful staff
We chose this accommodation , despite knowing we would not get an evening meal after 5.30pm on the Sunday, specifically because it had good reviews for breakfast and the Booking.com photographs showed a buffet with loads of fresh fruit. The photos are 5 years out of date, we were told there was no fruit for breakfast anymore. The cooked breakfast was lovely.
Small double room was as expected- small. It was also smelly - cigarette smoke had wafted through open window from smokers below at front door, and bad smell from shower drain.

Lovely pub and hotel. Good area out the back for events. Have stayed here twice now as have had events here. Great breakfast menu and yummy food. Great selection of gins too. Really good location with stunning views. So close to Ikley village center.
