Friendly staff with great knowledge of the area and other attractions clean rooms with spectacular views

The position is excellent with wonderful views over the bay and the mountains. The rooms are well appointed.

There needs to be more attention to detail when cleaning the rooms. It was filthy behind my bedside table. Also a bit more care needs to be taken with the bathroom shower foam and shampoo. There were half empty bottles.

The view and the big terrace were very nice. Also there were vegan options for breakfast.

The glass railing of the terrace was broken on the front. The room was dusty, the towels not white anymore. The staff was not exactly welcoming.

What a view ! We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The staff was really friendly and the food (breakfast) was really good. The localisation is good to visit around Plettenberg Bay and there are a lot of restaurants in the area. Our room was really big with big bathroom, everything was good.

We had 2 nights here and liked the size of the room, the breakfasts were lovely, the bar perfect for a nightcap and the pool. Very friendly and helpful staff.

there were some unclear points upon checkout - booking stated that part of payment was to be collected straight after booking and then hotel told us, that nothing is collected and we have to pay full amount upon checkout… this created a bit of a confusion and gave our stay an awkward end (we could not check with our online banking due to some IT troubles….) hence I would like to ask you to give more precise information about your payment conditions to avoid this experience for future guests!

When we came back from the beach one day, the door to our room was unlocked and wide open and the central key with keys to all rooms were sitting in the room. We walked around in the hotel trying to look for a staff member but when we didn’t find one we left the central keys on the desk in the office.

There are no local shops or restaurants. Everything is closed around 18:00. We had a message to say the restaurant would be open yet it was not. The bar was not stocked and the breakfast was very average. for R5000 for one night we expected a little more.

View is brilliant. Food was the some of best we had over a 2 week tour of SA. Staff were friendly

No back up power. So during planned power cuts there id literally no power. - Guests should be informed of this pre booking or at very least on arrival.

Views from the breakfast terrace and our sea-view room were fabulous, and the staff were all friendly.

To be honest, La Vista Lodge didn't feel like 4* accommodation, and was more like 3* in my opinion. The breakfast service was very slow (almost an hour to receive eggs with no toast) and there were no backup generators so load shedding between 8am - 10am meant we had no lights on in our room and bathroom to get ready, no ability to dry hair, charge phones, have toast with breakfast etc which we hadn't experienced at other accomodation on our garden route trip. The room seemed clean but the towels smelt like damp, the bedsheet was ripped and generally my husband and I just felt that we stayed in much better accommodation on our trip for a lower cost per night. This said, the location was great and the views beautiful so if you don't mind the minor issues which we experienced above then you will be happy staying.

Wow what a property. We booked the Honeymoon Suite which was simply fabulous. Very large room with a lovely lounge area and a massive balconey with some of the brest views of Plettenburg Bay you can find. The staff were wonderful (Shante & Amos in particular) and the breakfast outstanding. We would love to return one day!!

Superfriendly staff (particularly at breakfast), large and comfortable room, great view of the Bay and overall a good location to explore the area.

This was first time we had to deal with the loadshedding in South Africa. It would have been great if the blackout times were noted somewhere for guests to look at (a simple note in the breakfast area would suffice).

Fantastic view of plett and the staff were very helpful.
