Es war alles perfekt. Einfacher und reibungsloser Check In, super komfortables Zimmer, gut eingerichtete Selbstversorgerküche, Fahrräder konnten ohne Gebühr benutzt werden, großes Badezimmer. Die Lage war super. Man konnte alles zu Fuß erreichen. 30 Minuten vom Busbahnhof entfernt.

La ubicación del alojamiento era excelente, podías ir caminando o en bici (que te las dejan gratis) a prácticamente todo lo que hay para ver en George Town. Además la casa es la típica casa colonial del barrio, ¡muy bonita! Todo estaba limpio y los gatos que cuidan de la casa son maravillosos.
La insonorización no es la mejor pero aún así no ha estado mal y por poner alguna pega más, los baños nos quedaban muy lejos de la habitación. También hemos echado en falta que haya algún personal que nos pueda recomendar sitios y cosas que hacer en la ciudad.

Location is great, cats are cute, overall this is a safe and clean place, the owner was very kind.
Unfortunately we checked in and checked out after a few hours :( the room we stayed in, (although now this is mentioned in description) was extremely humid, smelled extremely musty, stuffy. On top that afternoon there were insecticide fumigation treatment on the whole area with huge smoky clouds on the streets, also in the street of the facility that went through the whole room made us caughing… this is out of the owner, that is true, they told us this is happening regularly in 3-4 months… but the main reasons we checked out and found another hotel were the humidity and extra musty smell in the room.

Loved the cats and how well they're cared for. Free laundry was a great bonus. Bikes are available to borrow and the host is always quick to respond to questions.
The air conditioning only works when the key is in the room, so it can be very warm when coming back. The common areas aren't air conditioned, so hanging out with the cats can be a very sweaty experience.

Vibe of the main area is very relaxing, well decorated. Cats were very sweet. Room was comfortable and everything worked. Great location to see Penang. Appreciate how quiet everywhere was for peaceful sleep.

Comfy bed and linen, water server, washing machine, cute cats, location near street food. It has everything I need. I recommend here to travelers who want to spend a quiet and relaxing time. This guest house made me fall in love with Georgetown.
I didn't leave foods in my room, but sometimes there were cockroaches.
I would appreciate it if the desk is more spacious. There are tables in the common area, but it's hot there.

I really enjoyed staying at My Guesthouse 109: the room was very cozy, simple buy with all the necessities. The common areas were beautiful too, especially the one downstairs with the well and all the cats around that were so adorable. The little kitchen was also really helpful and well equipped. Everything was also very clean. The landlord was very responsive to our needs even if he was not physically in the building. I really recommend this place
This place has no soundproofing at all so be prepared: this is not a landlord's fault, but unfortunately people nowadays are more and more selfish and unconcerned so even if the landlord pointed out some rules to live peacefully in the house, people didn't respect them. I would suggest to bring some earplugs.

I love the cats!!
This is more of an AirBnB than a hostel - there is no reception, you check in yourself with a code, and there is no cleaning service or other typical hotel amenities. The woman who runs it is nice and usually available via WhatsApp.

Very well located in Chinatown, lots of restaurants and sightseeing in walking distance! The area is beautiful to wander and get lost. The cats are all friendly and most of the time just sleeping somewhere. We were very happy about the free washing machine and water dispenser. The shared bathroom was always clean.

It is so humid in the room that it stinks… we put the AC dehumidifier on and it got better. However, when we go out we pulled the card key off so the AC stopped, so everytime we came back to our room it’s humid and stinky again…

I like the central location, at the heart of Georgetown, with amazing food options in the morning. The rooms are quiet, and the bathrooms are kept clean. Room space is sufficiently big, air-con is strong and WiFi is great as well. If you're a couple and looking for a cheap place to stay, My Guesthouse 109 is the place for you. If you love cats, just stay here.
If you're craving for interactions with other travellers, I don't think this is the place for you - a hostel would suit you better. There is no toothbrush and toothpaste provided in the guesthouse, as it's not a hotel, so bring your own. I could not find a water dispenser in the accommodations also, so that's another small downside.

Great location of the guest house, super cute pets, everything very clean and an incredibly helpful host (May) make this a perfect stay in George Town.
Disregard what people say about the cats meowing, only one of them is actually curious, and if she likes you, she’d maybe meow once to see if you’ll let her in, but that’s it. No disturbances of any kind!
