Location, breakfast, friendly staff

Beds far too soft, like sleeping in a hammock; no air conditioning... In Italy, in July?! Just one fan for 4 beds. Incredibly thin towels. 130 quid for what we got really isn't worth it.

We recently stayed at Villa Gherardi in Barga, and must say it was a truly wonderful experience. Nestled in the charming village, the hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the historic center, which is definitely worth a visit! The villa itself is a sight to behold, surrounded by a stunning garden adorned with cozy chairs and tables. The rooms, though simple, are equipped with all the essential amenities. The linen and towels provided were incredibly comfortable, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. What really stood out, was the exceptional staff, who created a welcoming atmosphere throughout. Additionally, the breakfast spread was lovely, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day off right. One of the highlights of staying at Villa Gherardi is the magnificent views it offers. Whether from the hotel rooms or the terraces, the vistas are breathtaking, making it an ideal place to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings. In summary, I highly recommend Villa Gherardi with its beautiful ambiance and breathtaking views. It's an excellent choice for anyone looking to experience the magic of Barga.

Though no inconvenience or relevant for our stay, it's worth noting that late check-ins (after 19:00) may incur a surcharge.

The host was wonderful, spoke perfect English and overall very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was decent, variable and lots of options. the views were very beautiful and the rooms simple, but comfortable and clean.

the WiFi was pretty bad and it was a little noisy in the morning.

Rooms were cold even with the heat on, bathrooms could use some updating

Location was fabulous with beautiful view over the old medieval town. Bed linen was spotless. Staff were helpful and attentive at breakfast. It was also lovely and warm despite the freezing weather.

The mattress was smaller than the bed and a little uncomfortable. The building is fabulous but would benefit from less clutter in the communal areas.

Beautiful palazzo, friendly staff, right near city center. Good selection for breakfast.

There was nothing I did not like - this is a great location, welcoming, helpful and value for money - would definitely stay again.
