Location was lovely . The style/ Artichtecture of the place was wonderful . Really comfortable..

Previous reviewers have said they absolutely love the place and so did we, so much that we plan to stay again. Superb views, great location, well managed, very friendly and helpful, excellent restaurant very close by. Used the indoor pool and sauna every day. Although a hire car is highly desirable we stayed for 3 weeks without one and used buses, taxis and our legs to get to places worth seeing like Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna and Santa Cruz. Loved our sun terrace. Very highly recommended.

This place is by far the greatest choice when you want to spend a wonderful holiday in Tenerife. The location has breathtaking views, even when showering you can admire the beautiful coast :). Our stay was in Don Carlos apartment which has a generous living room, a comfortable bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and an amazing balcony with views towards El Teide and the sea. The apartment is clean, authentically decorated and very quiet. Klaus, the host, is super friendly and helpful, he left us a welcome package with food and drinks (which we really appreciated since we arrived late), gave us many tips for visiting the island and allowed us to have a late checkout. During our week in Tenerife we explored almost all the parts of the Island and we sincerely believe that we could not have chosen a better accommodation elsewhere. I have to mention that in the apartment complex there are a swimming pool, a sauna and many relaxation areas in the garden, which we unfortunately didn't have much time to explore since we took long trips everyday, but we have a reason to return to this paradise, since they look great. Thank you, Klaus for one of our best holidays so far! ❤️

Amazing place with stunning views of the coast and Teide. The cottages are clean and well-equipped, the kitchen had literally everything you could ever wish for, all the cooking supplies and even salt, sugar, pepper, oil and vinegar and more! The host was super friendly and even left us a nice bottle of wine, some breakfast ham, cheese, bread etc. and there was fresh coffee! This was a superb choice and we were very happy with everything.

Spacious nicely decorated appartments located in a most beautiful tropical garden, close to the seaside. We enjoyed the privacy and the splendid seaviews ! Special acknowledgments for the host Claus ! He was wonderful in helping and informing us for having a fine stay. We hope one day to stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The view from our apartment was spectacular. And our host, Klaus, was so kind and accommodating, he really went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice time. I also feel the need to mention that, unlike so many in the hospitality sector, these folks really understand what travellers need - cleanliness, a bit of local food and beer in the fridge, a big bottle of water, loads of clean towels... All these small things really make a big difference.

We spent in El Refugio 5 days and it was great experience. The house was beautiful, clean and spacious, with wonderful terrace and stunning view on the ocean. The host Klaus was very caring, helpful and nice. We got many tips on what to visit in the area. This has been a wonderful experience and we will be back. The apartments is stunning by day and night and the views for example from the Breakfast from terrace is beautiful. The scenery is endless. It you are family looking to go away there is no better place.

Everything was perfect

We were looking for a calm and relaxed location that would separate us from the tourist crowds and provide a real Tenerife experience instead of putting us in the middle of a resort and we found it at El Refugio. The host is extremely responsive and the instructions were accurate. Klaus also gave us a helpful list of recommendations and favourites that we discovered on the island: starting from restaurants and shops and ending with incredible nature locations. Our apartment had an ocean view from every room and it made our stay magical. The apartment also has everything you might need during your stay: a fully equipped kitchen, TV, large bed, welcome package with local specialities, washing room etc.

Klaus is an extraordinary person, very kind and caring. The garden of the Villa is beautiful and relaxing and the view of the Teide and the ocean is amizing. The welcoming package with wine, jamón an cheese is great. Really really appreciated the flowers in the kitchen.

Everything! My partner and I stayed for two weeks in the flat “La Cascada” - located next to the garden and “wellness area” on the lower level. FYI the other flats include “El Teide”, “Don Carlos” (both situated on the entrance floor, or first floor) and “Delia” (tucked separately behind). The villa, Casa Del Sol, is separate. We absolutely loved our stay. Overall nice attention to details in the flat, we liked the architecture. Klaus, the manager, helped us whenever we had an issue. He was always very helpful, responsive and gave us a lot of useful recommendations. Outdoor area The terrace was bigger than we thought. As you step outside the living room, you have access to one table, bench and hammock and your own gas BBQ!! A bit further away, you have another table, which gives an amazing view of the coast and Teide. You also get loungers which you can place anywhere in the communal garden. Milly, the cat, will come to say hello from time to time (she is really well behaved). You can also have access to a washing machine if needed (located away from the apartment). Kitchen Well fitted kitchen for a holiday flat. Having a dishwasher made life a lot easier. Nespresso machine and milk frother available (but you need to pay for the capsules they provide) and stovetop coffee maker available. The “welcome pack” included a small olive oil bottle, white wine vinegar, salt, pepper, one cheese, Serrano ham and 2x beers. Living Room There is a flat screen TV but we never used it... it has HDMI connection in case you want to connect your laptop to the TV, e.g to watch Netflix. Bedroom The waterfalls and pond (with a turtle) are next to the bedroom. All waterfalls can be shut off at night if you want peace and quiet. We kept the bedroom and living room doors opened at night to allow some air circulation as otherwise it could get a bit too hot for us. Bathroom There is a direct access to the “wellness area” from the bathroom!

The only thing is that we wish the indoor swimming pool could have been warmer as it felt pretty cold the first week (but that might be because the heating was not on?!). You can always use the sauna to warm yourself up if needed). The second week felt better.
