Staff very friendly, very nice food and enjoyable atmosphere
Bedroom too small and bed was small for two adults.

we wanted to stay in a typical inn and the Stag very much matched our expectations for the room, breakfast and location
Nothing really

The room was lovely
There was no milk in our room. No decaffeinated drinks.
Our family were in a room with no fire escape instructions. Neither rooms had a leaflet/booklet about who to contact GP, meal times or choices.
We booked because it said breakfast included.
No one told us only continental was included and we found out while having our evening meal elsewhere. At no time did the manager tell us and we could have been given an extra bill for £58.
Parking is also an issue. Not enough room, we parked in the square.

In the centre of town
We knew we booked a small room, but it was very small and think the price was too expensive. It was advertised as breakfast included, but they then said if you wanted cooked breakfast it was an extra £14 each. People were complaining as it was false descriptions. I see now on website they have taken breakfast included off ?
1.5
The comfy bed and location.
The lack of cleanliness! Whoever cleans the rooms need to be shown how to clean a room, and learn how to dust! Dust that wasn't just a days worth or two! Skirting boards, top of mirrors, top of radio, kettle, sink lights, items on shelf above bed all thick with dust. Portable mirror hadn’t even been cleaned! Hairdryer filter filthy! Unhygienic sharing soap dispensers. No grace on check in times, when rooms are being cleaned to a high standard, no issue having to wait half an hour to for the exact check in time. Paid upfront for room including breakfast, but first morning of breakfast after being given a menu for cooked i saw prices and queried this, to be told it only includes continental not cooked, but didn't state this when booked. We were told that the site has since been updated, but it hadn’t at the time of our booking. They allowed us to have one free breakfast of our stay, but really should have honoured both! Although having said that, after the first one, we wouldn’t have wanted another, as the large mushroom on each plate was burnt so badly was inedible, bacon was also burnt on one. Had a first night evening meal in the restaurant, was ok, not great but not awful, but not worth the money they charge for it. Dessert was ordered, a crumble listed on the menu, but when it arrived sadly was a completely different filling to what we ordered, sadly we couldn’t have as it had red currants in, but they apologised and said the kitchen didn’t inform them and we weren't charged for it. The fair was in the square on our arrival, no issue for us really, but would have nice to have been warned about it, especially when our room overlooked on to the square when they were packing all the equipment away until 1am, so we were kept awake due to the noise of this.
Restaurant window sills could also do with a good clean, as could see the cobwebs! The Bar is also lacking in some very popular drinks.

Breakfast was nice , polite staff
Was not happy with room as photo did not show the loft room we had, room was also dirty, window was filthy, bottom of shower was dirty, needs decorating, room was to small, sink was to low, not worth money, fire should have been lit on very cold day.

Perfect location, staff were great and super friendly. Would definitely return.

Great location with parking, greeted by friendly staff. Room was fine, comfy big bed and good size room. A good selection choice at breakfast and freshly cooked.
The lighting in bedroom was very dull and in the eve was hard to read.

Lovely old building with lots of charm
There was no where to put toiletry’s in the bathroom, so kept toiletries on the floor , the tap on sink did not work , also the shower smaller head did not work
Dinner was expensive £36 for pie to share , mash and veg , cheapest bottle of red wine was £26
Breakfast was nice but portions were small , no beans or hash browns , was given pastries and just 3 between 2 , no choice with bread to make toast , just white sliced bread

Quaint Inn, just as imagined

Staff were lovely and welcoming, and the food was very good. The room was set out lovely.
Having to go up two flight of stairs which I know can't be helped but it was hard. My bed was firm but my daughter said her beds were fine. Think just what you are use to at home. Toilet downstairs ladies needs door locks looking at and a little love and care.

Location and pubs/restaurants close by
Toilet was like shitting in a cupboard

Fab central location. Lovely pub and the room was small but full of character - wood beams, uneven flooring- nice decor, especially the bathroom. Very comfy bed and bedding. Asked for a late check out of 11.30, was no problem. Car park very handy and was allowed to leave car there next day for an hour after checking out while I went for a walk. Staff overall friendly and helpful.
My room (roe) was above back of the pub. Was a Tuesday, so a quiet night in the pub/restaurant. I was hoping to sleep around 11.00pm but couldn’t get to sleep until after midnight, because noise of staff chatting and clearing away below carried loudly to my room. (Maybe the staff are not aware of this) Dividing wall with room next door thin and was woken by my “neighbours” up and about at 6.15a.m.
Different staff on in the morning, didn’t enquire as to how I slept so I didn’t mention it.
Breakfast was lovely - coffee and breakfast served to you but you had to toast bread and get juice yourself from a separate room, not the best of set ups if not sitting nearby. Good enough value for 2 people (Cotswolds always pricey!) less so for one person.

The room was beautiful and incredibly clean, very comfortable bed. I loved the fact they gave you fresh milk to take to your room!
The staff were so friendly and even managed to fit us in for dinner on a very full evening.
Nothing, it was excellent

Staff working in the bar/ restaurant are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great!
The room was below standard for cleaning. Including mould on the shower curtain and bathroom windows. Informed the venue over email and received no reply - not very professional.
