Simple touches - extra coffee pods. robes, slippers etc

the building is new, well decorated and very clean. the location is fine and the area is calm. staff was also available, extremely polite and helpful. the sea view was the icing on the top!

The location and relaxing vibe made the time pass by fast. Tasty breakfast and friendly staff.

Our bedroom had no view except for the street. The bed itself was not comfortable and the sheets would not stay put. Also lacks beach chairs and umbrella setup when you want to stay on the beach right in front of the hotel. While by the pool had many beds and chairs to use was missing some natural shade so the sun was very strong all day.

everything. the facilities are super nice and the pool and sea view is amazing. the staff of super friendly. my special thanks to Erica who works at the restaurant. She told me everything about Cape Verde, including other places like Santo Antão and fire island. I will be back to visit. the breakfast and massage were great too ! I will be back

- Got a free upgrade to a suite, which was huge. - Very comfortable bed and pillow. - Silent aircon. - The whole staff was always friendly, smiling and greeting (even security). - Possibility of having a reduced breakfast before the official opening (this because we got picked up for scuba-diving quite early). - Good quality food, fresh, fairly priced and enough variety. - Very quiet area, and hotel. - Quick, friendly and efficient problem solving.

The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. The breakfast was more than enough and good quality with freshly made cakes and breads.

The staff are friendly. The hotel wasn’t overcrowded which was nice as all 10-15 guests could use the swimming pool throughout the day without bothering each other. We never felt unsafe in Santa Maria but the hotel had two security guards. The receptionist can help book a taxi or different adventures. We needed to check out early because of our flight and the staff packed some simple breakfast for us the day before.

The first room we got had an issue with the air conditioner so in a few hours we needed to move to another room but the staff was very helpful and supportive in the process. It’s very convenient that the restaurant is part of the hotel. The restaurant staff are also very friendly but the prices are high like in Northern Europe, one mean 10+ euros. The location is not bed, it’s a quiet area with few people passing by the pool but it’s one of the last hotels in the town. When walking towards the center at night you have to walk a few hundred meters in a darker area, a bit uncomfortable.

The food from the hotel was absolutely delicious, especially their catch of the day dinner. Breakfast was varied, fresh and filling. We loved the tranquility, cleanliness, freedom and 'no fuss' atmosphere at the hotel. The staff were so helpful and kind.

There were unfortunately some building works which were noisy to around 2pm most days, but staff warned us and were very gracious about it. We weren't too bothered and went to the beach instead.

Very nice stay close to the cemetery beach. Staff was kind as well.

The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxed and really gives you a holiday feeling. The breakfast was healthy and professional.

The Budha Beach Hotel was a nice start of our holidays in Cape Vert. The location is a bit at the edges of Santa Maria but very relaxing and peaceful. The room was big and spacious and clean and the staff extremely nice!

Lovely property easy walking distance to markets, restaurants and right along the beach. Rooms are a nice size and the property is well maintained.

No complaints.

Not sold as an adult only hotel, but that's really what it was. Nicely positioned 10 mins walk into Santa Maria and with only 29 rooms a breath of fresh air compared to the corporate / gated hotels just north of the capital. Pool of this size was a real bonus too.

Hotel understaffed on our arrival both at reception and in the dining room which was frustrating and not very well dealt with by the hotel. That said, it didn't happen again during the week so maybe just a one off. The walk into town is fine (10 mins) but the first 200m of this is across dusty wasteland. For those of us of a certain age it is possible to 'have a fall'!

The beds were really comfy and the sunshine when it was out was great! Room was of a good size.

•The staff didn't speak a word of english but signs and menu were in english. •The noise was horrific constant dogs barking. If your an early riser and want an on time alarm every morning between 5am-8am then the dogs barking is definitely for you! •security walking around blasting music on thier phone early hours in the morning. I was woken up at 4am with the security stood outside our room blasting rap music! •food over priced and under cooked. •construction/maintenance noise- drills, hammering etc. • the half board/full board menu was very ground hog day, not alot of variety and very under cooked and plain. •our room was being pin pointed to be robbed by the locals but we managed to notice the movements made by 2 men before it happened. Our room was the very last room on the end of the hotel and the last building right on the very end of the island. •Our room was of great size but found myself wiping my feet down as the floor was dirty. No coffee & tea facilities in the room, so if your a big coffee and tea drinker then this is a big issue! We booked this hotel under the impression it would be relaxing, peaceful and paradise with it being called "budha hotel" it was the complete opposite! We felt very restricted and not respected what so ever! My partner and I do not recommend this hotel what so ever!

Everything. Like many who wrote here, the perfect place to relax, far away from the tourism-getthos (big hotels) on the other side of town. People are incredibly friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is amazing and the best we found on the island. We can also recommend the massages of Jennifer, which we consider the best we ever had. Yes, the place is a bit far away from the centre and yes, the beach directly at the hotel is not for swimming (stones), but the hotel is almost directly at the beach, so you go to bed and wake up with the sound of the waves. And another huge positive side is that there is no animation or loud music or such.

Not much really. Only thing to improve from our point of view, is to create more spaces with shadow outside
