very nice garden and outside area overall

it gets very noisy in the first floor bedroom because of the road behind the window

Casa Amarela is situated in the beautiful little village of Capelas. the house is wonderful , very well cleaned and full of all comforts for your stay. there is a beautiful garden with a bbq area and the owner will suggestion you lots of places to visit during your stay. we really loved it and we hope to come back!

View from bedroom and bed is very nice. Garden and grill to be used when we wanted. Close to a large grocery store. Secluded from all the buzz and hear the birds singing and chirping in the morning.

Kitchen was basic but sufficient. Shower could be better, and a better bathroom mirror would be nice. Birds live in the roof, so if you have problems with sound it could be a problem, for us it wasn't a problem it was rather cozy.

Nice basic equipment (+ washing and drying machine - very important!), authentic backyard, cleaning service during longer staying, extra towels for use e.g. at spa, late check in after midnight with no extra charge, convenient location (12 min from the airport) Thank to Carlos for nice staying and Ruben for waiting to check us in and practical advice. :)

Distinct smell (but we got use to it) and high humidity! (something that is hard to adjust for not islanders)..

Location is great, and the house is surrounded by a lovely garden which really makes you feel you are immersed into the nature. Also, our apartment had bedroom with ocean view, that added a great value to our stay. Carlos, our host, was very welcoming and gave us great tips!!

During our stay, we found a few alive bugs crawling around so If you struggle with insects, be aware. Also, the birds nesting between the roof and the ceiling makes lot of noise making it impossible to sleep after the sun is up.

The information on booking is not 100% accurate. The garden, the place to park the car and the BBQ are actually shared with the other guests. Under the main house, there are two apartments occupied by these guests. Also, we had a problem with cockroaches. We understand the house is the middle of the country side and animals might come in. When we entered the house, there were around 10 cockroaches dead in the different bedrooms. We called the owner of the house who felt attacked by us, saying that it was the first time someone questioned the cleanliness of the house and that it was ok to have cockroaches because they were dead. The house was in fact clean, but the fact that there were so many dead cockroaches was not ok, there should have been a check before they gave us the keys. The owner was very rude on the phone. The cleaning lady came about 15 minutes after and she was super nice and apologised for the situation. The house has a lot of humidity, so the towels don't dry well and the house does not smell very nice. Overall, the location is fine but the experience was not the best due to the owner's behaviour and the missing information on booking.

Very nice garden, table outside, barbecue and a private place to park the car. Ability to use washing and drying machines.

Place is smaller than it appears on pictures. It is said to be 30m2, but in reality it is about 20m2.

The house is very well located, in a peaceful area of Capelas. The room is very well equipped and furnished.

The room is humid

As it was November and not many tourists on the island, we had the whole house for ourselves, with the huge jungle-garden :) The whole location was very good, everything was easy to reach. Thanks again to Ruben for waiting for us and helping to find the way in the first night. The roosters were also not a big problem for us ;)

The island has a cockroach-problem because of the rain and wet walls, so don't be surprised to meet them anywhere. Of course the hosts are doing everything to keep them away from the house.
