The Den is a very cosy quiet place, the perfect getaway. Paul and his family are really nice people, and they make you feel welcome. Paul let me and my family feed the alpacas, my daughter loved it. Brilliant place would highly recommend. 😀

Lovely little place and just what we wanted/needed. There were a few fireworks let off in the distance but far enough away not to trouble my dog too much. Would certainly stay again.

Tina and Paul are so sweet and inviting. They made me feel welcome from the get go. I had an emergency come up and had to postpone my stay for 6 weeks and they were very accommodating in switching the dates for me. The apartment was lovely and there's plenty of space to move around. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. The outside felt like a rural area with the alpacas and acres of fields and was very quiet and peaceful. My friend and I loved visiting and feeding the alpacas. Tina and Paul answered our countless questions about the alpacas with patience and kindness. I would recommend anyone to stay here if in the area!

We stayed only 1 night of our 5 night reservation. The yard outside is littered with junk and weeds. The bed is very uncomfortable. The room smells strongly musty. The washer and dryer do not work properly. Is there a place to post a photo? This place should not be among your listings. Refund requested.

We booked the den, hoping to get our two autistic teens out of the house for a bit of a break and to see the alpacas. From the moment we arrive it was untidy, there are weeds and junk everywhere. The pictures showed an outdoor sitting area and there was no such thing. The place was dirty and smelled musty. The cooker didn't work, the airbed had a puncture and the sofa bed was very small and uncomfortable. The only positive is that the owner was very polite and there was tea, coffee and Milk, however I will not be returning.

The owners were lovely. Very welcoming and friendly. Amazingly accommodating of my dogs. Was quite disappointed there wasn't a patio area as shown in the pictures and as they were in the process of refurbishment with the next property there were quite a lot of excess materials around. The Alpachas were lovely and it was really nice of the owners to let us meet them. The amenities inside the property were great and very comfortable

Paul and Tina both wonderful people, easy to communicate with and very understanding. Made our stay so pleasant and easy :) 100% recommend.

I'm going to split this in to two parts. Firstly, the internal elements of the property (services/cleanliness/state of repair/etc.) were fine and in line with the description published. There was a minor shortfall in that the oven retained some residue/burnt on residue from a previous occupancy/use but was easily cleaned so as I say minor. As the primary need for the property centred on this, the stay is considered as satisfactory. The second part was the surrounds of the property. Whilst the owner advised in advance (after final payment was made) of some "repairs" were ongoing, the extent wasn't made clear. On arrival, it was found that the property was surrounded on three sides by scaffolding, scaffold clamps and other debris were noted, and there was a general state of untidiness from a variety of discarded odds and ends. The work we were advised verbally had been ongoing for some 18 months, so I've no doubt was as much a problem for the property owners as anything, but I do feel this was critical information that should have been made known very much in advance. The scaffolding was removed on the morning of the final full day of our stay. No warning of the activity was given so it was a little disconcerting for people to suddenly appear around the windows of the property, but fortunately nothing to cause embarrassment. The only difficulty really was that with the work, exit from the property on to the main road was impossible until the accompanying lorry exited. The aftermath of the scaffolding being removed left a trail of lights obstructing the main door. I eventually found a way of securing these to leave a relatively clear path, but do feel that the owners should have made check to make good anything like this once the scaffolding was gone.

Everything great except the weather

Just had the most perfect weekend here, the owners are just lovely, the cottage was comfortable and everything we needed, and the Alpacas are a complete joy to meet! A much needed break, Thank you so much

This was exactly what we hoped for as a Christmas getaway. Quiet, everything we needed at hand, close to good outdoor walks with our dogs (and close enough to walk the grounds at Shibden Hall in Halifax), friendly hosts who were there if we needed & unobtrusive otherwise. And of course, helping to feed the alpacas!

I took my partner on this little getaway, as an over night trip for her Birthday. I'd spoken with Paul, the owner in the run up to the trip and organised it with him that we could feed their friendly Alpacas! Which was a great experience and really made our trip. Paul was very open and advised that there was scaffolding up on the property as they were having some work done but that it would not affect our stay and that it was just purely aesthetic. They were very accomodating and helpful, advised us of local eateries. There's also a little guidebook for the appliances,shower,heating etc. That proved handy. All in all it was a lovely stay, with great character. We will return with our four legged children in the future - and highly recommend the stay to anyone. Jay & Beckie.

It was a lovely experience to stay in the Den. The hosts were warm and welcoming. Although it sleeps four probably only suitable for a family. For two it was perfect and hope we can stay again

We stayed for just two days and it was lovely and quite, it was a perfect getaway for us, can’t recommend it enough.

The Den is the perfect little get away. Paul and Tina were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We travelled with our 6 month old & wow without asking they had us covered there with anything we would need from a baby bath to a travel cot. Sits on a lovely little farm out of the way with stunning views just on the door step. Will be back sometime in the future

We had a wonderful 2 nights staying in The Den. Paul was the perfect host. He made us feel welcome, but didn't bother us at all and we had a very relaxing stay. We were able to go to our mother's memorial service and we even brought our crazy dog with us. We would recommend booking The Den to all those looking for a peaceful break or holiday in the lovely Lancashire countryside. Thank you again Paul and Tina!

The property was comfortable, clean, everything you needed and more, tea coffee milk and biscuits were a nice surprise. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful and gave us info on local areas to visit. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved meeting the resident alpacas. The owners are involved with local scout group and kindly invited us to join the online group video for a camp fire sing song. Lovely evening we will remember for a long time.

The place was extremely clean and is very spacious. The Internet connection is very slow and there is barely any network either so it is perfect to step away from the world and take time out. The lovely couple have alpacas who love a good feed ahahah We will most definitely be returning!

Lovely property with excellent facilities. Perfect location for our stay in lovely area. Excellent communications. Lovely friendly hosts. Very dog friendly, even left a dog blanket and treats for our dog. Definitely will stay again.
