The view from the bedroom windows! Even though it was rainy and cloudy, the view was spectacular!
The bed was very comfy, the food was really good, most of the staff we came across were all very friendly and accommodating.
We had quite a few little niggles really.
We had eaten here before a number of times when it was owned by The Seafood Pub Company, but had never stayed, we just wanted a night away from home after all the festivities, with my husbands brother and sister-in-law.
We were sent a check in link for a speedy check-in, however, it was way less than speedy when checking in!
There was a speaker blaring out music just where the lady was on the computer checking us in. So trying to hear her over that was quite difficult. It took about 10 minutes for us to be be checked in, so much for speedy!!!
We came down to the bar for a few drinks and after a while, I asked if they could turn the music down, it was very annoying as we just wanted to chat and play a game. It was turned down, not by very much, not even nice music! Where we sat, the sofa was quite dirty and one of the arms looked as if it had been chewed by a dog! A bit of attention needed all over.
Our evening meal was very good, however, quite a few things were not available which was disappointing.
Breakfast which was a bit of a debacle to be quite honest! The most strangest of things, was the t-bags were decaffeinated and did not make a good cup of tea at all, so when we asked for proper tea, we were told that they had run out and had been put on the list to buy!!!???
The lady said "wait a minute" and then asked the housekeeper if she could get some from the rooms! She did and we had a a few good cups of tea. Now I have heard of venues running out of things, but never the basic staples! Come on now, that is absolutely ridiculous!
I was on a wee bit of a restricted diet, so when I asked for the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, they had run out of that! Again, if it is offered on the menu, you need to ensure you have it available! The lady mumbled on about how they had been busy and if we waited, the delivery people may just arrive with it and I could have it!!!??? It was all a very strange breakfast time!

We liked the room.
We liked the Inn and the food.
We liked the location.
The stairs from the bar to the room were quite steep,my wife struggled to get up and down
It would help if there was a hand rail on both sides.

The location is outstanding, and very well linked for Colne and Skipton and beyond. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Bed was a little firm for us, but this is a personal thing that may well suit others.

Room was lovely, great location, cosy feeling evening meal was lovely
Shower came away from the wall in my hand and shower door does not shut very well so water leaks all over bathroom floor, food menu limited and very expensive.

We liked everything

Nice seats overlooking fields at back of car park. Nice glass of wine, albeit didn't realise it was £11 a glass until after.
The waitress at dinner was smiley and polite.
Dog friendly.
The toilet was broken in room, the flush didn't work at all. We didn't realise until we went to the room late and got ready for bed. We had to manually flush the toilet pouring water directly Into the bowl. It was late, we had the dog and our stuff so didn't get dressed to go to reception to change but when I raised it in tge morning nothing was done and I'm sure they must have known from cleaning the room. No compensation. The toilet did however make noise all night.
The shower was broken, the head swings around, the pressure was terrible as top of the shower was leaking.
Restaurant expensive.mains were tasty but cheese board was a waste of money, very cheap average cheese and stale biscuits.

The location was brilliant - a little off the beaten track but the views were spectacular and the walks were terrific. The pub are was warm and welcoming and the outside area was great - luckily nice weather when we were there.
Nothing to speak of.

The staff were very welcoming and very polite, the room was a good size, the bed was extremely comfortable and the food was amazing when it arrived. I could have sat in the bar all night with the brilliant atmosphere and great choice of beers The Alma Inn is set in a beautiful part of Colne and perfect for using as a base to go walking.
The room was showing its age a bit with broken wardrobe, safe not working and bathroom needing a little TLC. We almost had to abandon our evening meal because it took so long to arrive and we had a taxi booked to go into Colne for a show.
4.5
Clear skies give magnificent views, especially from The Alma.
The Staff are all present, friendly and easy to get on with.
The food is more than reasonable, in fact we would go back to eat.
3.5
Nice comfortable room, nice restaurant.
Be warned, on the menu that is already expensive for what it is, they offer Focaccia bread on the menu at £7.50, ridiculous, with that in mind l asked for a couple of slices of white mother’s pride type bread and butter, only to be charged £7.50, when l raised it at the end of the meal,l was told they could not take it of the bill, absolutely ridiculous, as a result l will not return as l feel insulted, it’s bad business, who ever priced the menu, needs a lesson in business, probably a stupid accountant.
However on complaining again in the morning l was told they had taken £4 of my bill, but as l had prepaid my stay it was not possible to get a refund, and no offer was made to refund it in any other way.
In these difficult times, the last thing a business needs is over charging ridiculous amounts for what cost just a few pennies.

Staff amazing
Breakfast was a strange atmosphere, weak coffee in the machine and they didn't have bacon or sausage available. No cutlery on the table.
There was also mold down the side of the bath and round the sealant. A bit unsightly and needs replaced.
4.5
Very charming with lovely rooms
Would have liked to have been sat at a table for 2 when we had our evening meal instead of being sat on a large table for 4, unfortunately didn't feel we had much privacy.
