Mooi gelegen accommodatie. Net buiten Tangalle. Silent Beach op loopafstand. Ruime kamer met prima bed. Lekker zwembad.
Eigenlijk niks.

Great hotel on the coast, set inbetween 2 lovely beaches. The first night we stayed for dinner and that was fantastic. I had the Sri Lankan curry option and my partner the roast chicken, both were delicious. So much so that we wanted to eat there the following night, but at breakfast the waiter told us there was no cook that day and there was only one dinner option which was chicken fried rice, so we were disappointed, but decided to decline and eat somewhere else. However, on arriving back that night we could see people eating and after asking the manager Lisa, the cook was working, so we could have eaten there after all. This was a bit annoying as my partner was not that well after having an accident a few days earlier. Additionally, the waiting staff were pushing us the first night to have dinner at 6.30pm, which is very early. They obviously wanted to finish early. We ended up agreeing on 7pm, but really we wanted to eat around 7.30/8pm. The food is very good though.
There is a very nice saltwater pool and the garden is lovely. The view is amazing and the verandah of our room was perfect. There was a sofa, kettle and candles and you can hear the waves all day and night long. It is a very beautiful, relaxing place, but needs a bit of investment.
When we arrived with our driver( who was the nicest guy you could meet) he was told by the hotel staff he couldn't use the toilet, and much to our horror had to pee in the back yard. When we informed him of our hotel choice enroute, he already knew of the place as he had dropped guests there before and had not had a warm feeling. Lisa also referred to him in a derogatory way. We were embarassed as he was so kind and had been with us for 2.5 weeks. It was a pity.
Lastly, this hotel needs air conditioning. It was absolutely boiling at night in the room. There is a fan over the bed, but the mosqito net is too thick, so no air comes through. At the very least, the mosquito nets need to be changed. The current ones also don't reach the ground. It was beginning of April, so maybe other times of the year are a bit cooler, but it was almost impossible to sleep. We also spoke to another couple at breakfast and they also couldn't sleep. I understand it is very expensive, but then the windows should be altered, so they can open properly and then a breeze comes in.
This hotel could be absolutely amazing if some money was invested in it.

Beautifull location and clean room! Staff was friendly.
Food was nice, but bit expensive. Hotel is good, but we missed the Sri Lankan touch to it (was a bit western orientated we think).

I had a lovely peaceful stay here. The staff are very kind.
Breakfast was good. Dinner was very good and i ate in at the Villa every night.
I enjoyed spending time on the room balcony and in the garden by the pool.
The sea breeze was lovely.

After a month traveling in north & central Sri Lanka we headed to the beach. Villa Lucky Star was the perfect guesthouse for us. It is not a fancy place; there is nothing fussy, coldly upscale, or overdone about it. It is just the perfect place for an easy-going beach holiday. Our room (#8) was on the 2nd floor. It was simple, clean, & pleasant, with a large comfortable bed, a cooling cement floor, a long rack for hanging clothing, a table & 2 chairs, 2 bedside tables, a ceiling fan, and best of all, a balcony with the most tranquil, beautiful view over lush gardens, swaying palm trees, a rocky outcrop, gorgeous sea, and a pretty pool. Honestly, it was a movie-perfect view. On the balcony were chairs, table & a cushioned bench. The bed had a net but we didn’t use it as the breeze kept the mosquitoes away. We kept the balcony door open & screen door locked at night. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves & waking to the distant call of peacocks: Nothing could have been more perfect. The shower had plenty of hot water & the shower lip & curtain kept the rest of the bathroom from getting wet. The salt-water pool was refreshing & great to laze about in the late afternoon. VLS is located between 2 beaches: Goyambokka Beach is an easy walk & is a wide, lovely beach with a few simple restaurants for cold drinks. Silent Beach is also beautiful but longer to walk to. Eat on the patio or in a covered pavilion looking out over the sea. Excellent food. Breakfast included a pot of tea or coffee, yogurt w/honey & cereal sprinkles, juice, eggs, toast, & a pretty fruit platter. We highly recommend the Prawns in Coconut (comes with 5 or 6 small dishes) for dinner. Refrigerator & honor system for cold drinks at night. The manager, Lisa, & her team (especially Tisolet) were absolutely The Best: thoughtful, kind, & helpful. Villa Lucky Star is for people who want a lovely, calm, relaxing place to stay.
We loved staying at Villa Lucky Star, and if (when!) we get back to Tangalle we will happily stay there again. The only improvement I can think of would be having a screen in one of the 2 large windows in the room we had. You could then leave the window open at night to let in even more of that lovely sea-breeze.

An amazing hotel in the most beautiful area. Absolutely magical. The staff were incredibly kind .
road not adopted..But tuk tuk’s can pick you up and take you to the most wonderful beaches close to the property.

The service from Lisa and staff. Location is fabulous with awesome beaches within a short walk. We’d planned to eat out at the nearby restaurants and bars but found ourselves eating in for all 5 nights and enjoying our own (6) company and the grounds of this small hotel.
Nothing. Be aware it’s at end of a rough lane with no AC. But I had 5 of the best nights sleep on our 3 week tour and the sound of the waves is a beautiful soundtrack to lull you to sleep.

Lucky Star is a little paradise to relax. Built at the cliff you have a beautiful view. If you want to have romantic, here you can get it, as well as good food. To silent beach it’s a 20 minutes walk, of course you can also take a Tuktuk or experience some other beaches.
We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Villa Lucky. Ursula, Lisa and her nice team will make you lucky.

We spent four relaxing days at Villa Lucky Star. The resort is peaceful and well kept. We had a beautiful room on the first floor with a large balcony overlooking the lush garden, the salt water pool and ocean. The room was cleaned daily. Although there were other guests we felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Loved breakfast which was just perfect, fresh fruit, egg, toast, jams and coffee.
All the staff are very attentive and they served us an earlier breakfast on our last day as we had to leave early.
From the garden it's a 10 min walk to Silent beach. This is a really cool walk on the rocks looking at the waves splashing over.
Otherwise you can walk the other direction to Goyambokka beach.
Great value for money!

Lisa is a very nice person, as the people who work here. The place is peaceful, and the view front the océan is just amazing.
And i like to ear the sound of waves and of geckos all the days and night.
Thanks a lot.
The dishes are correct, it's not wonderful but very correct.
The little insects a night....maybe ants but don't worry the bedroom and bathroom are clean! And Lisa is very to listen.

Fabulous location sandwiched between two stunning and clean beaches. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained. Dinner at the hotel is a must, we had a lovely private table and as much delicious food as we could eat.

Lisa, Ursula and the whole staff are very kind and interesting people! It was the cleanest accommodation during our Sri Lanka trip. The view was spectacular. We enjoyed having your great breakfast in front of the ocean. It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy the most beautiful and not so crowded beaches of Sri Lanka in my opinion :)! Don’t miss this unique place. we would definitely come back again.
Everything was perfect!

Excellent restaurant. Swimming pool with sea filtered water. The endless and beautiful ocean sound of the surf and the ocean breeze in the air. Beautiful sunsets on a wild beach. In 5 minutes walk there is a civilized beach except for the wild beach. Always smiling and caring owners of the villa from Germany. And a separate comment deserves landscaping and flowers throughout the territory. I already miss it and recommend it to everyone.
Really nothing!

Lucky Star Villa is a place you need to discover and savour as the days go by. The serenity of this place is fantastic, the warmth of the staff here is utterly present at all times. It is an oasis of tranquility within a constantly moving country. We were charmed by this place, we could't get enough of photographing sunrises or the moon in the evenings or the wonderful creatures around. Also, make sure you have dinner here at least once, it will feel like home, trust me. We honestly want to thank everyone at the property for simply being themselves, you are all wonderful people!

What a wonderful place. The staff and Lisa were so welcoming and helpful. We got upgraded to one of the suites which was huge and had the option of sleeping al fresco. The place is right on the rocks with the possibility of climbing out to view the sunset. The pool is great and the food is just wonderful we ate there several times. Lisa organised a car to Ella for us at a great rate with a fantastic driver. All together it was fabulous.
The road to the hotel is not so good but it’s worth it.

Nice apartments, very good quality of service. The hotel territory is well maintained, there is a picturesque ocean view from the hotel number. Another good point about this place is its calmness and good atmosphere. The personnel is helpful and kind, the room number was cleaned every day. Probably the most beautiful beach on the coast is located beside the hotel. We really enjoyed staying there for a week.

4.5
Very well run guesthouse on a rocky promontory between two of south Sri Lanka's best beaches
Splendid view of the sea and the sound of waves crashing on the rocks
Excellent breakfast and good evening meals, attentive, friendly, and helpful owners, manager (Lisa), and staff
5 min walk to Goyambokka Beach and 10 min to Silent Beach
3 km Tuktuk ride (300 Rupias, 1.3 €) to banks and shops
Quiet location with shady garden, pool and pavillions.
Highly recommended
Our upstairs double room could have been a bit larger but the terrace made up for this small inconvenience

The object was laid on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Rooms very spacious with a beautiful terrace. All rooms with views of the ocean and palm trees. The beautiful style of the object. Rooms clean and cleaned every day. An additional advantage is the proximity to the most beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka - Gayomboka Beach - 5 min and Silent Beach 10 min. The hospitality of the owner was amazing. Delicious breakfasts and even better dinners! The only hotel in Sri Lanka where we ate dinner in it - DELICIOUS and portions so large that we thought it was for several couples and it was only for us! Hotel staff very nice and helpful. She helped us on many topics from currency exchange to transport organization in very good money. We felt at home there!
Nothing!
