Positives - Location is good, short walk to beaches and restaurants. Living area excellent size and kitchen well equipped. Parking outside. Great patio.

Negatives – bedrooms small, TVs in bedrooms don’t work, sofa in lounge uncomfortable, no welcome pack at all (in 40 years of self catering holidays we have never had any accommodation without even a simple welcome pack). But the worst issue was the bathroom ceiling. When we arrived there were old painted-over stains on the ceiling, obviously an old problem. The second evening we heard dripping in the bathroom and after listening carefully we worked out it was dripping into the ceiling cavity from above. We reported to the agent/owner straightaway who said someone would come the next day – we never saw anyone. 2 evenings later (New Year’s Eve!) we found water flowing out of light fitting in bathroom ceiling. The agent eventually managed to get the upstairs apartment to stop using their bathroom – but the water continued dripped for several hours. We were told it was safe to use the electricity in there, but we didn’t feel safe and didn’t use it for 2 days. Frankly, it ruined our holiday and we almost booked into a hotel. There was no real apology and no offer of alternative accommodation, nor compensation. The day before we flew home, the agent told us that someone would sort out the problem after we left and that they would have to take the ceiling down. This was obviously a pre-existing problem and they should not have rented this apartment out until it was fully resolved. It would have been better if they had been open about this and given us the opportunity to seek alternative accommodation.

Location was great. Facilities were clean and well equipped. Could use some more utensils and dish soap in the kitchen. All appliances worked perfectly.

Beds were not comfortable and pillows were basic with no support. Owner has stated new mattresses have been ordered 👌.

Spacious apartment on ground floor of a small block of flats, in quiet neighbourhood, 10' walk from Alagoa beach. Nice, large terrace with both sun and shade, and a shower for beach goers. Easy parking outside. Kitchen very well equipped with all necessary appliances (including Nespresso machine, dishwasher, washing machine and a big fridge) and all possible cooking utensils. Bedrooms are on the small side but both have double beds which are quite comfortable.

- AC only in the living room (this should be specified in the description). This can be an issue especially as apartment is on ground floor with easy access from the street through the windows of the bedrooms. - Internet access was bad: virtually none on mobile data from inside the house (no signal), and Wifi was poor and slow. It got slightly better after restarting the router, but still very slow. - Ants: even though the apartment was reasonably clean, there were ants popping out everywhere around the house, in the first 15' from having anything edible outside the fridge or the smallest crumbs on the floor. - Terrace could use an outside dining area and a proper barbecue. - No direct contact with owner, who was only accessible via Whatsapp (see Internet access issue above). That is fine as such, but then the apartment should at least have some written practical information available (e.g. appliances, nearest shop/bakery etc, how the recycling is done and where the recyclable garbage should be taken).
