Lovely Remodeled Beach House Next to Ocean, Hiking & Biking. Very Clean!

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish! This rental property is everything it says it is plus more!!!! The ease of booking, communication, payments made and of course the actual stay couldn’t have been more relaxing and stress free! We will be back because the location was off the charts!

I love Half Moon Bay and this house is perfect! Clean, comfortable, kitchen stocked with cooking essentials, and in a perfect location. The neighborhood is quiet and it’s a short walk to the beach. I try to never miss a sunset! The walk to downtown and to the grocery store is not too far. This was my second year at this location, and I’m planning next years getaway already!

This property was perfect our quick family trip to the ocean. The house is very well kept and clean. We loved the layout and location. If anything the online pictures did not do it justice. Our only complaint was that we did not get to stay longer.

John and Cathy clearly take pride in this vacation home. It is clean and has just about everything someone could want in a vacation property. The thoughtful extras (beach supplies, laundry bags for delicates, fully-stocked kitchen supplies, kids games, books, etc.) take the already flushed out accommodations to the next level.
The communication with John and Cathy was above and beyond all expectations. Their initial communications were clear, thorough and extremely helpful, but it was communications during the stay that made it exceptional. We had a couple things come up while we were there, but they replied and responded promptly. For us, it is great to have a good property, but it is exceptional to have a prompt response when life happens.
We cannot recommend this property enough. The location is superb. The hosts are truly caring and extremely professional. The neighborhood is quiet. The town is lovely. We would definitely return here.

We were very pleased with our stay here, the house was so clean and comfortable. Great kitchen and perfect bedrooms for all of us to fit comfortably. Really enjoyed being so close to Poplar Beach!! Everything in the house was so well labeled. Thank you so very much for a pleasant stay! Great memories!!

The house was a hit from the start.
This place had everything we needed: safe neighborhood, a well-equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals, a cozy living room - stocked with games and toys for relaxing, a nice backyard with a grill - where we made dinners during sunset and the kids played, and quiet nights of sound sleep— if felt like a cabin out in nature.
Every day was packed with activities. We biked along the coastal trail, sampled the local cuisine, and watched sunsets that made us forget about city life. The kids turned into treasure hunters on the beach, collecting shells and coming up with names and tales about each one.
By the end of the trip, none of us wanted to leave—especially the kids.

It was super. Just one comment on your BBQ...does not seem to heat up adequately. Cooked filets Easter and could not get hot enough for Black and Blue steaks. The steaks were still wonderful! I think ypu asked for feedback on BBQ and sofa bed or I would never say a word. We did not use the aofa bed to sleep on so no feedback for you. All in all you have a great beach house with a terrific location. Thank you for your hospitality!! Bob

My daughter, her husband and I were very impressed with this cozy, coastal cottage. Furnishings were simple but comfortable and the fireplace was a big hit! We appreciated all of the modern appliances and I must say, the shower was amazing!!! Thank you and we will be back!

We loved this cute, cozy, Beach cottage so near the beach trail. We were able to walk the trail every morning enjoying the massive surf and saltly breezes. The full kitchen was well equipped to assist us in preparing our assigned dishes for the Thanksgiving family get together. The two ovens were appreciated!
Everything was perfect from the warmth of the fireplace, to the comfy beds, to the abundance of the supplies. And thanks also for the welcoming bottle of wine!

My family and I rented this location for a staycation for my birthday. The place was wonderfully child friendly with toys and utensils. Set up was very friendly for beach outings and our kids loved having the fire pit and backyard.

Very clean comfortable house close to the beach with many amenities. Everything we needed for the beach, cooking at home or just enjoying the neighborhood. I've been to Half Moon Bay many times over the past 25 years which has included hotels, B&B, etc. This was probably the most enjoyable stay.
Communication with the owner was easy and timely. The quiet neighborhood was a pleasure. Great location. We will be back for another beach getaway soon.

Everything about our rental experience was top notch! We loved this cute three bedroom house with a fire pit in the back yard. A short 5 minute walk brings you to a gorgeous beach, and we lucked out with mostly sunny weather (usually Half Moon Bay is much more foggy, though we love that, too). Just walking into the house, you are struck by how clean and well organized everything is, with labels on all the light switches. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be going back!

Most of all, we appreciated the high standard of uncluttered organization and cleanliness in every room in the house, especially the kitchen. The thoughtful and meticulous arrangement of the house was evident and made for a calm and peaceful visit. Instead of stepping into a house full of old, mismatched discards, we saw the intentional placement of the contents in all areas of your property.
We kept busy in San Mateo, Oakland, and San Francisco visiting family and sites that we missed out on the walk to the beach down the street and the firepit and the BBQ in the backyard. But we leave Half Moon Bay with gratitude for our host.❣️

We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The proximity to the beach and bike trails allowed us to just leave the car parked in the driveway, and avoid the hassle of loading/unloading the car with kids, bikes and sand. According to my Garmin watch, house to beach parking lot was a quarter mile. Short stroll!!
The house was very clean, organized and very nicely appointed. It has everything you need for the whole family to enjoy downtime—fast internet, XBox, toys, books, DVD player, music player with in-wall speakers, USB ports in the bedroom lamps for charging your devices. The kitchen is complete with all necessary appliances, plates/utensils along with most spices/condiments you need. The kids enjoyed the outdoor shower with hot water, making cleanup after the beach very convenient. Light switches were labeled so you don’t have to guess! Garage had sufficient space to store our four bikes so we didn’t have to store them outside and lock them. The washing machine and dryer were large enough for a couple days’ worth of clothes for our family of two adults and twin 8 year olds.
Communication with the owner was fast—lightning fast—which I appreciated very much.
We also met their neighbor on the last night—they were very nice and felt us welcome. Some VRBO neighbors in houses we stayed in the past were snobbish and made us feel unwelcome in the neighborhood. But these neighbors even chatted with me—with a smile.
Would we stay there again? Absolutely!

Loved the house and location! 6 minute walk to paved coast path and then just another minute or two down the stairs to the beach. The coastal path had benches on the cliff overlooking the ocean. We rented bikes at Bike Works (groupon) and did kayaks/paddleboards at Half Moon Bay Kayak Co (groupon again). Both great experiences. The house was better than the pictures... more chairs in the living room area. We hope to return...

We loved how close the house was to the beach and the Coastal trail. Everything we needed was within walking distance as we didn't have a car. The bus stops nearby as well. The pull-out couch became a very comfortable bed creating a private bedroom at night for one or two folks. There is only one bathroom which we first thought might become an issue - but it was never a problem. John was easy to communicate with, helped us when we arrived early and we truly appreciate this little house.

The house is as described, but we found some significant extras. First, a good bottle of chilled wine greeted us. There were generous amounts of basic supplies. Great WiFi and entertainment options. Very useful guest guide. Close to beach -- and of course Half Moon Bay and nearby areas are great. Thanks much!!

Great destination for an easy/low key Chick Trip. The house is just minutes from a quiet/clean/low use beach, easy walk to Main Street with great food, wine bars, and boutique shopping. Property was clean, had comfy beds, and nice fluffy towels. The neighborhood is very quiet. We are planning to return next year. Owner was super responsive prior to trip, did not need to contact them during our stay.
