Very clean and tidy , my room was upgraded so that was great , restaurants on site always helps.

There seems to be a smell of Cigarette smoke throughout the hotel except in my room funny enough , also would be nice if the Aircon could be cooler , seems no matter how you set it the temperature stays the same so at night can get a little warm. Nice gym area but again very hot inside

The staff Miss Zhao is very nice when check in , she offered me 3days free breakfast.

Generally, Holiday Inn Shanghai Hongqiao West, is a good property but it was the icing on the cake with the manager's relationship with their customer giving 10 out of 10 to Mr JAMES. Thank you for the smooth services through out my stay.

all good ....just breakfast can be designed better.

I like the hard bed with two choices of soft and hard pillows.

The breakfast is not good value for money with such high room rate. The salad is limited to 2 same greens every day and there are no fresh fruits like apple, banana or pear except with cut fruit like watermelon.

This hotel is located 20 minutes away from Hongqiao airport and railway station, which is great. Within 900 metres, you've got Papa John's, McDonald's, Starbucks, and an incredibly expensive Mexican restaurant (as well as a wine shop and multiple local Chinese restaurants); we were able to walk down for all our meals. The hotel is professional and classy. The staff all speak English and are extremely friendly and welcoming. The room had a gorgeous view of the local area. The beds were good; there were two types of pillows (hard and soft). The internet was fast. The breakfast was a mixture of Chinese and Western food, and both types were delicious. The manager called me within an hour of checkout to make sure everything was good. I would be happy to stay there again... but...

The location was poor. It's still a 17 minute car ride from the nearest metro stop and it's just off a major street that has a median, meaning the taxis have to go around the block every time they need to get to the hotel. I would definitely go back to this hotel, though. A hotel near the railway station costs 800 RMB per night, but is on the metro line. This hotel was 300 per night, but a 30 RMB taxi ride from the nearest metro stop... when I tallied the cost, it was still cheaper to stay here (though we lost travel time in always having to taxi to the metro).
