Clean and welcoming

The room was basic but clean. Good size room.

Wasn't expecting to be in the cottage part of the hotel which is up quite a few steps and not well lit at night. The room was big but basic. Couldn't figure out how to get hot water out of the tap, and the coffee wasn't very nice *sorry. I've stayed in the Mount a few times and loved the rooms in the main hotel more than the cottage, and there was no full breakfast option so we went out for breakfast instead.

The room was clean and the hotel was very close to where we needed to be, as well as a short walk from Barry Island for a stroll in the morning.

The room was tiny and my partner, who is 6' 3", could not get in the shower without maneuvering a lot! Unfortunately, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, to the point that we may as well have slept on the floor! The mattress had springs sticking out of it and the pillows were basically non existent. Wouldn't recommend. Wish I'd paid a bit more for the premier inn.

Location and cheap

Dirty, needs a makeover and new more comfortable beds.

The photos online is not what they are like in person they are tidy but the smell is awful smells like damp caravan, the mattress are so uncomfortable

The smell of the rooms , the bath had rust from it being old , the mattress so uncomfortable and springs hurting me , the cleaners came made the beds like a 5 year old didn’t re stock coffees tea etc and didn’t want the spoon and cups

Basic but comfortable. Staff friendly.

Shower was scalding. I was aware that there was music playing at around 6 am. Not a problem for me as I was up and it wasn't directly below/next to me, but I can imagine it could have been unwelcome otherwise.

The location is far from Cardiff Central but fortunately the train station is just down the road

Difficult ro get an uber

I was so pleased when I arrived stunning views from my room very clean and comfortable and very happy with my stay

However on check out all this changed. I was charged twice for my stay and expected the hotel to notice the error and agree a refund however Siraya the manager was adamant that I had booked twice and they would not refund the cost Shocked is an understatement. I would have been a returning customer as working in Barry over the next 3 months and would have recommended to my team but given the response I will not be returning so I hope the extra £144 was worth it At the point of check in I was not told about the additional booking nor given another key and therefore this feels very dishonest I am sure members of the council will be interested to hear about how visitors to the Vale ate treated

Beautiful room, beautiful views and half the price of all the other hotels and the bar was very nice

there is nothing to like about the property just because of the RUDENESS of the staff

the staff , how they react, rude staff, don’t respect you, charge you high

Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights and loved our room. We had a sea view room and was very clean and comfortable. However was unaware that you have to go through the hotel to the back of the hotel outside up loads of steps which was sometimes wet and slippery to get to the room, really struggled especially when pregnant. Wasn’t worth the view with all of that every day. Parking isn’t the greatest only had 5 car spaces had to park on the road. Wouldn’t stay here again especially for a week, better off just for a day or 2.

Went for a wedding and the event was great. Brilliant day and night

The DJ threw a strop at the end of the night that almost ruined the event

We loved the bath and the view the staff were nice and warm

Bed needs changing as we could feel all the springs in the bed.plus there were no coffee or tea in the room like last time Toilet brush was unclean
