The view/food/room were all great! They had happy hour too with 2 for 1 drinks (if you don’t choose all inclusive).

I liked that they messed up my booking so I can leave two reviews.
It’s dirty, the showers are useless, the noise never stops, DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE TO SLEEP. Read all the bad reviews about the noise. Pool absolutely full of kids and drunk adults with Mexican music blaring and when that stops the horrible singing starts, you can’t even hide on the beach from the noise, check in staff are absolutely useless and rude. Whatever price you pay online you will pay up to 50% more at the property, absolute scam. Food inedible, watered down drinks, clueless and unhelpful waiters. This hotel is only friendly for Mexicans, air conditioning didn’t work. Very bad hotel and staff.

Leaving was the only good part
I have travelled extensively all over Mexico and I can safely say this was the worst hotel I’ve ever been in. Absolute overpriced dump. Riddled with hidden charges (I’m use to them in Mexico but this place takes the biscuit) music blaring until late at night, impossible to get an elevator, cleaners that constantly bang your door at all hours regardless of wether you have a sign up or not, reception insist on calling the room at 8am for no reason but to say hello. Food was rank, drink was worse. Security that makes you feel like you are doing something wrong by leaving and coming back, constantly under scrutiny. Worst hotel experience I’ve had in Mexico.

It was on the beach, which was great - a great view.
The restaurants were closed due to remodeling (although i didn't see any work being done), and only one was open for breakfast. There were long lines so I didn't have time to eat breakfast. The internet wasn't working either (they informed me at the reception desk). It began working later in the night i think.

The hotel does not supply coffee in the room and you have to pay to get some .

the overall layout of the hotel was nice. everything is within a 5 minute walk. i did like the serving staff. people who served you. i.e. waiters, servers
STAFF!!!!! got there early, i understand i cant check in early. i wanted to use the wifi, but you need your room number. since i cant check in. i dont know what it is. after some complaining and asking them to use common sense (i already paid to be there and i showed up), this was resolved. my family ordered a pizza from across the street, the manager on duty told us we couldnt eat it in the designated eating area because we didnt get it from the hotel. she wanted us to sign a waiver saying we didnt get the food from the hotel. we ate breakfast at the hotel and were ordering drinks from the hotel. this made no sense to me. i cant eat food in the designated area, ive already paid to use. my ac went out, and it seemed like i had to get in an argument with the front desk to get them to move me rooms. i had to wait for the maintenance guy to show and tell me it was broken (which i already knew). its on and the temp is going up in the room. he opens the ac unit up and does nothing because he has a flathead screwdriver and a pair of pliers. i dont fix ac units, but i know enough to know you need more tools than that. he proceeds to tell me its fixed, which made me march downstairs and blow a gasket with the front desk clerk. i did not like the hotel staff

Pool crowded.....people saving loungers for hours and not around. Not enough shade and umbrellas with loungers saved for the whole 3 hours we were at the pool. Not cool. Loud music the whole time! Could hardly hear our waiter. Music boomed from 10am to 11pm. Super loud in room too even with windows shut. Hard to hear the TV Music also comes up through the center of the hotel as all rooms share an inside area which looks down to the lobby

My second visit( the first 8 years ago)So much to like about The Emporio but sadly I will not return due to the issue I address later. The hotel is clean, pretty and located on a lovely beach. The staff that you interact with on a daily basis, waiters, hostesses etc are all friendly and very accommodating. Sandra, who manages the food side is a pro and Lupita as well.
The food is very good, especially breakfast. Pedro, who creates the omelettes is wonderful. We ate out three evenings as the buffet gets a bit tiresome.
They have added an additional Italian restaurant option , but it offers very limited seating and is only open a few nights per week. Reservations must be made in the morning. The food was good, but I question their commitment to making this a viable option for their quests.
THE NOISE!!! The person who runs the pool and lobby is clueless to the comfort of the quests when it comes to music volume. Music at the pool starts at nine and gets progressively louder throughout the day making it hard to have a conversation. The person leading the water aerobics class uses a whistle and it is not only loud but jarring. Never can you hear the sound of the waves. Even the beach offers no respite, as a good number of the beds(no palapa ) are located behind the pool area.
Just when you think you'll have some quiet, a singer starts up in the lobby which has no cushion for sound. The volume is incredibly loud and the hotel rooms are around an open core so you hear it in your room until 11:00! On top of that, the property next door plays loud techno music until past 11:00. Our room was a suite on the 10th floor and the noise was relentless.
The crowd at this hotel is mostly families, so the "party" atmosphere they are trying to create, really does not fit their clientele. They also now allow "day passes" which made things more crowded on the weekend.
On a very somber note, I witnessed a drowning in the ocean while visiting. The lifeguards responded quickly and worked valiantly to save the person with chest compressions for over 15 minutes before help arrived.(very slow response!) Shockingly, there is no defibrillator in the hotel. A huge failure on the part of the hotel chain! The aftermath was handled very poorly with the person's companion having to sit in the lobby in a wheelchair for almost two hours until the coroner arrived. A complete lack of empathy by the front end management.

Sandy large beach kept clean. Walk to shopping and dining or rent a bicycle.
Working class people are friendly and generous natured.
LOUD . Night and day loud, earplugs don't cut it and also, I shouldn't need them to relax in my 4 star rated hotel room. Management didn't communicate with housekeeping about my fragrance allergies, but housekeeper Lucia was very caring and responsive.

Breakfast was great, Pedro cooked awesome omelets! Nice pool, fun for kids, music and entertainment every night. Close to shops in town.
Had to be very diligent not to mix your pool towels up with others because they were numbered

Staff is super friendly, live music in the evenings was fun, room very comfortable, beach is gorgeous and clean.
There was a single line for check in, check out, money exchange or simply to ask a question. Line was out of control, at least 25 people. No property map available and reception didn’t offer pool, gym or restaurant hours. Had to inquire myself. Called about money exchange value, got one price, went downstairs to complete transaction and was then given a different price.

We had an oceanside view with two beds, and the view was absolutely amazing. The pool and adjacent area was kept pretty clean, and the mall directly across the street had plenty of restaurants and stores to wander into and around. The beach was gorgeous, even with more crowds than we had anticipated, and perfect for jogging, strolling or just people-watching while tanning. And the hotel is a quick 10-15 minute drive to the town of Zihuatanejo, a pleasant town that's much less "touristy" and more "real", as well as having some fantastic restaurants and it's own similar-but-different beaches.
The Wi-Fi was intermittent at its very best in our room on the fifth floor, although it was better in the lobby; we were using the free Wi-Fi plan that allows three simultaneously connected devices, it may be worth it to you to upgrade to the paid version. We had to check out pool towels instead of just being able to grab and go, which got a little annoying when you have to wait in a line for towels. The nightly entertainment sometimes goes to 11:30 and you'll probably be able to hear it from your room so be prepared for that.

It is right on the shore, that's good, but not necesarily splendid considering those many beaches around.
Está en la playa, pero finalmente con tantas playas alrededor no es d gran importancia.
1- Bathroom air fan broken. La ventilación en el baño no sirve.
2- Matress smelled like someone else's sweat day one. Desde el primer dia el colchon olía a sudores.
3- AC moisty & harsh. A/A viejo, húmedo y directo.
