Everything was great. Room was a perfect size, clean and with a luxurious bathroom. Nespresso machine in the room is a nice touch. Breakfast was incredible. Staff were lovely. Great location to be near the seafront and town centre.

A beautiful, boutique style establishment..fab decor and heaps of character. The staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.

Room was nicely designed. Had the best sleep. Bathroom was big and shower was lovely. Breakfast was really nice, with a good vegan and veggie options. Location was perfect for us. A bit of a walk into the centre but when you factor in the walk along the sea front you can’t really complain. The bar and snacks were also really good. A great selection of beers on tap.

Not really any negatives. There is no parking, but it is Brighton after all. However, hotel recommended a really good parking option.

Everything ….a really warm welcome , beautifully decorated room with some lovely extra touches like an ice bucket , coffee machine , biscuits…..and a lovely breakfast in the morning

Breakfast wasn't the best. Full English was fine but other options disappoiting.

The roast dinner was the best roast dinner I have every eaten! The rooms are just lovely and well decorated. The staff are super helpful and friendly.

Breakfast Service was better on the Friday than on the Saturday. Ate in the bar on the first night. It was a very limited menu and what we wanted as our first choice (think it was ribs) wasn’t available. Very disappointing.

Lovely room. Very comfortable and stylish. Whole atmosphere very welcoming. Delicious breakfast. Keep it up with delicious poached eggs. Receptionist/bar staff were very helpful and welcoming. Came for Brighton fringe

the room was a great size and the bathroom was beautifully decorated. We were going to head out for dinner but then realised we could eat at The Southern Belle and play Scrabble over dinner. Just perfect!!

The Southern Belle was quiet The rooms were modern and spacious, with an amazing bathroom and shower.

Located a little out of the way and the weather wasn’t great so we did get taxis in for meals.

Great choices for breakfast, and very tasty! No complaints with the room, No 10. Shower was a bit weak, other than that all good. Couldn’t connect to the free Wi-Fi but wasn’t a problem as in Hove visiting family.

We had a wedding to attend on New Years Eve and had a lovely stay at The Southern Belle. Lou was very welcoming and very helpful. Great décor and wish we could have stayed longer. Good selection for breakfast too. The location was brilliant, a stones throw away from the sea.

We found the pillows to be a bit too firm but that's just a personal preference.

Great initial feel with warm welcome. Room was lovely but really cold in the bathroom.

The bar staff - returned back to hotel to be greeted with a surly - we close in 5 minutes. I explained that I was a resident but was instructed that there was nowhere to enjoy a drink other than in my room. Ordered drinks only to be told that they were closed and I HAD to vacate the bar. SB need to distinguish between hotel guests and pub customers. I was very unhappy that I could only go back to the cold room in order to finish the drink. I have stayed in ‘inns’ before and have never had such rudeness. The one with glasses couldn’t even understand why I wasn’t happy at being sent to my room and said I was unreasonable. And was also encourage to have strong alchohol to relax; all I wanted was a little nightcap not a full on round of surliness and appalling customer service.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Southern Belle. The room was lovely with a huge comfortable bed and we loved the luxurious shower and comfortable seating. The location is ideal - so close to the seafront, and the bar downstairs is great, with fabulous cocktails. The staff were all friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay again.

Amazing location & reasonably priced

Had 2 x dogs which i made clear when searching on booking.com. Booking.com however don't make it clear that the hotel would charge extra for this, even though the listing states they welcome dogs

Alf and Marie were excellent hosts, from check in, right the way through. I look forward to returning soon!
