Delightful immaculately clean property with well kept private garden and pool in a stunningly beautiful area of Provence with several of The Most Beautiful Villages of France nearby. Charming and helpful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday finding various restaurants in the places we visited which included local villages, Pont d'Avignon and Pont du Gard as well as a long distance visit to the Camargue Ornithological Park to see the flamingos.

October in Luberon
Excellent from start to finish. Jean Marie was so helpful and enjoyed our stay immensely.

Peaceful hideaway
This place was a super relaxing hideaway - once behind the gate, it's totally secluded and private. The living area was larger than expected and the massive french sliding doors open right back onto the terrace and pool. There are multiple options outside for relaxing or eating depending on if you wanted shade or sun and the garden and pool area was beautiful. The host was extremely helpful beforehand and very quick to respond to the odd question. Great central location to visit the Luberon's well-known towns. Would highly reccommend.

Just perfect!
We could not have wished for more to be honest. The villa and pool were just perfect for our needs - in fact, apart from the odd trip to the supermarket, we barely left it!
Jean-Marie was the ideal host too, making himself available to answer any of our queries but providing us with complete and utter privacy. The villa is in excellent condition and really well equipped. The gardens and pool are beautiful and provide lots of lovely places to sit and enjoy the sun or shade. The pool beanbag was the highlight though; we spent most of the week fighting over whose turn it was to lie on it!
Thank you so much for a lovely holiday. It was the best way to recover from a very stressful few months at work.

Idyllic getaway
From start to finish I cannot fault the overall experience.
The property is well maintained and very private. Luc the host is on hand if needed but also respects guests privacy.
Little touches on arrival (drinks and local treats) made this extra special. I know without a doubt that we will return.

So wonderful we came back again.
This place is a rare find - a gite perfect for two, with perfect privacy, beautiful landscaping, a lovely big pool - and so close to all the beautiful villages of the Luberon. Perfectly located for hiking or a week lounging by the pool and visiting Gordes, Roussillon on foot if you want to park the car. Jean-Marie & Luc are perfect hosts - warm & attentive but very respectful of privacy. If you can snag a week at this property don’t hesitate! It’s very much in demand, as is their other property. Prepare for a week of heaven!

Beautiful place
This place is beautiful. The gardens and pool were lovely. It was too cold to swim during our stay but we appreciated the view each morning. The unit is clean, and beautifully decorated. It is about a 10min drive from Gordes. Very quiet and peaceful. The only downside to the place would be the fact that it lacked basic things such as hand wash in the bathroom, and detergent in the kitchen etc. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to others.

Beautifully appointed hideaway with fabulous garden and pool - perfect for 2
What a amazing place Le Petit Bastidon is. Entry is via a gate in a wall - almost like entering the 'Secret Garden'. Every detail has been taken care of by the owners with well-thought out accommodation, a lovely swimming pool and a beautiful garden.
With sliding glass doors on both sides of the living area you have a view out to the garden, whatever the weather. The kitchen has everything you might need for stay and there's a decent sized dining table and a sofa for lounging. The bedroom is a good size, with air-conditioning, and the only thing that possibly could be improved is the bed and pillows which were a little uncomfortable. The shower room has been really nicely done although as it is a wet room, it would benefit from better ventilation. That said, we were there in October, and in damp weather, which probably didn't help!
Outside is fantastic with a number of different areas for sitting or lying - very thoughtfully planned and designed. We usually had breakfast on a little bistro table by the house and then moved to the more relaxed loungers by the pool when the weather allowed us. The pool is fabulous although we only braved it the once. The garden is so well looked after and there's a lovely herb garden which you can use if you're cooking a meal.
The owners were so welcoming and friendly, yet unobtrusive during our stay. Top marks to them all round!
As for the area, well, it's a complete delight. Everywhere you turn there's a beautiful view whether it's the hilltop towns of Gordes, Rousillon, Goult, Bonnieux or Menerbes. (we stumbled across several others too) or up to the mountains of the Luberon or Vaucluse. A day out in Avignon is a must and we also hiked the 'Mur de la Peste' in the Vaucluse with far-reaching views to Mount Ventoux.
All in all, a wonderful property in a wonderful destination for a week's holiday.

Perfect spot to relax and enjoy a beautiful and interesting area of France
Le Petit Bastidon is a really private, tranquil spot in a great location for exploring the region. The garden and pool enjoy sunshine all day. Jean-Marie was extremely helpful in assisting with local knowledge and organising a Taxi to Gordes Resteraunts. The accomodation is very comfortable and well equipped, perfect for 2.
We have already planned to return next year.

A perfect spot for a week of tranquility
We stayed here for one week and loved this little gem of a property. Jean-Marie gave us a warm welcome and was exceptionally helpful in assisting us during our stay. The property was cosy and clean and exceeded our expectations. The peaceful pool and garden area are just lovely and we enjoyed every moment of our week spent here.

Brilliant place for a couple near Gordes
Only have positive things to say about the accommodation and the owner Jean- Marie. The little house is very well equipped and the garden with all its sub sections is a gem. The sort of place we thought we could easily return to at some point. And it's well positioned to do a full tour of the Luberon and environs. We even had a nightingale to chirp us through the outdoor evenings. A perfect spot, despite the weather being unusually mixed in the first week of June.
The only negative which has nothing to do with place or owner was around the booking process and the mess created by the sister websites (Owners Direct and Home Away) only one of which was working properly when we booked. It made the payment process much more arduous than should have been expected.

It’s as charming as it appears in the photos.
Even in October when the weather was more moderate this cottage is lovely. It is private quiet well equipped if you want to stay in and cook and close (within 20 minutes) or whatever you need. The bed is comfortable, there is a folder explaining how to work all the appliances and enough space to relax.

Quaint cottage in a great location
Cute little cottage close to Gordes in the Luberon, easy access to the nearby area but far enough away to provide peace and quiet. Luc was very helpful and catered to our needs. Definitely recommended for a stay in Provence in the beautiful Luberon!

Privacy, beauty, sanctuary, silence, sun.
September 26, 2016.
We worked through our short Summer in Nova Scotia Canada, this year. Our compensation, a week in Provence. We had 7 days of sun, 23-28°, and swam in the pool every day. Provence has stolen your hearts. We have travelled extensively in France, but the Luberon charmed us. Hiking « petit randonnée » every morning, and then the REWARD- returning to Le Petit Bastidon for swimming, Champagne, cheese, bread.
Privacy, beauty, sanctuary, silence, sun. Merci beaucoup over & over again Jean-Marie for creating such a perfect paradise.
We shall return !

Our heart still skips a beat
18 June 2016.
Back again and even though we know the place so well now, our heart still skips a beat when we first walk through that little door.
We were very lucky to see the Gheko at least once a day and do think there may now be more than one !
Thank you again so much Jean-Marie, and we love all of the new additions you have made.
We return home feeling so much better than when we arrived.
Until next year !

Better than our previous 2 visits
We didn't think it would be possible for it to be better than our previous 2 visits, but it has been. Le petit Bastidon looked perfect on arrival and the smell of honeysuckle when you walked in through that little door was wonderful.
The shopkeepers in Gordes are now recognising us – the charcuterie, le supermarché et le tabac, which makes the experience extra special.
We have already made plans for our return visit next year, which makes leaving that tiny bit easier.
Thank you so much

What a haven of tranquility
06 to 20 June 2015.
We have had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Le Petit Bastidon. It's been hard to tear ourselves away from the beautiful pool and garden, but the location is superb for visiting the hill-top villages and beyond. And what a haven of tranquility to come back to at the end of the day ! The house is perfect – with every home comfort, and more ! We really hope to return one day... until then, we'll have away some very happy memories of the two weeks we have spent here.
Merci à Jean-Marie pour tout !

A haven to return to and relax
27 Sept – 11 Oct 2014.
We were in need of a long awaited holiday and after a lot of research, decided on Le petit Bastidon – Gordes. Even though quite late in the season, we enjoyed very good weather and explored many hill-top villages, museums and shops as well as 2 trips to Avignon, we thoroughly recommend a visit.
Le petit Bastidon was always a haven to return to and relax. We enjoyed some great home cooking! Ratatouille and the odd BBQ :-) :-)
Gordes was always our « go to » place, - park up and walk through the lanes leading up to the main square - Mamie Jane for bread and pastries, then to sit outside and enjoy Café Crème and Thé Vert, while watching the people pass by. Restaurants all very good, our favorite was L'Artégal.

Immediate relaxation
14-21 June 2014.
Back again and very happy to find everything is still as we remembered it – apart from the new arrangment of furniture which we loved. Arrived in hot sunshine and received a lovely welcome from Viviane and then immediate relaxation. Lovely walks each day, shopping for supplies in Gordes than back to the peace and tranquility of Le petit Bastidon, to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Thank you for sharing this piece of paradise with us. Already looking forward to next year!

«Le Petit Bastidon» is a lovely place to stay. Very quiet, very nice garden and a house which is big enough to have a great holiday. In «Le Petit Bastidon» you recognize «the Provence»; it is just as you want to have it. We are already thinking to be back here.

What a lovely place
What a lovely place to spend a holiday in the Provence sunshine, lazing in the garden around the pool and walking around the splendid countryside. The house suited us very well and we appreciated the stylish interior and the calm situation. We hope to return to discover the many places we didn't get around to visiting.
