Great place very clean great location if you love privacy which we do!

The house is super clean and very updated. It's hidden from everyone and you have a ton of privacy.

No words to describe how beautiful it is here! The house is immaculate! Everything you need and more to enjoy the vacation. Owners were great and very helpful! Wish we could have stayed longer. Such a fun adventure!

Quiet, remote, away from the stereotypical touristy stuff, 2 blocks from the beach, a great location to decompress and recharge. We are thankful for having the opportunity to stay at this house as it met all our needs. We'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.

This place is great and clean. However, you need a Jeep or something with high clearance and not just AWD. The road to the property is 10 miles on a beach with very deep sand at times. You need to be very comfortable driving in loose sand. Our vehicle was 4WD but the clearance was not great and we got stuck a few times, but were able to dig out. However, it made future trips into town a bit stressful. The owners did warn about the need for a 4WD, I just didn't think it would be as deep and far as it was in reality. The property is great once you arrive.

This Was the best vacation ever! The house was beautiful! The location was perfect! Time together as a family, priceless! Blake and Vickie were great hosts! Already told them we plan on making their house our vacation spot for next year. If you are looking for a relaxing spot away from the hustle and bustle of the OBX tourism, this location is for you. You will not be disappointed.

Highly recommend this house! This was our first time staying at the 4x4 beach and it was a great location for it. The house is beautiful with lots of natural light, great views, and nice, open kitchen on the top floor. It is very close to the beach and is further north on the beach so it gets you away from some of the more populated areas. My toddler loved seeing wild horses every day. Blake and Vicky were great hosts and always replied straight away to our messages.

Lovely laid back place to stay close to the beach yet feels remote from the busyness of the beach which was perfect. Hosts were very helpful!

Vicky and Blake were wonderful hosts and have the perfect nature retreat on Carova. House was just as described and they were very responsive. This home is tucked away in a private location with gorgeous sandy roads and peaceful surroundings. Drive to the beach and easily unload right from your Jeep or truck all while admiring the wild horses! We’d love to come back!

We had a great stay at your home. Very clean and everything we needed. The views are great being able to see the top of the trees with the ocean in the background is fantastic. Will stay here again.

Property was just as described, located in a unique spot off the beach. House had everything we needed and then some. Highly recommend.

House is positioned so you watch the sun rise with your coffee and sunset as you relax in the living room. The 4x4 beach ride was an adventure! You can meander through an enchanted beach forest and be greeted by the occasional horse. The house is spacious with open concept kitchen/LR on the top floor, bedroom on the 2nd, then open garage. Blake greeted us on arrival and was quick to answer questions. First time at OBX. We will be back!

This house was perfect for our 4 adults and 2 kids! Loved the views, sunsets, upper deck, privacy . . . the kitchen was awesome with EVERYTHING one would need for cooking. The whole layout of the house worked well. The adult kids said the mattress in the second bedroom rolled to the middle but, other than that we appreciated all the bedding that was provided. We were able to see the horses, deer, dolphins, and many sea birds. This was our first visit to OBX and with 4x4 beach life. A few words of advice for others ... we had one vehicle with 4 wheel drive and one without . . . would not recommend driving the beach without 4 x 4 !! It was an experience - we made some memories we're sure to remember! Be sure to find a pull-off area to deflate your tires before you reach the beach. Also, if you are planning to do sight seeing (in the island towns) remember to allow 30-40 minutes to traverse the beach drive to the paved road and then remember you have to inflate your tires for road travel. There is a free air filling lot a short distance from the beach. And, don't forget to factor in the tide! Something those of us from the North are not familiar with . . . We did love this place and next time we are looking for a place to just "be" this would be perfect!

The house is more beautiful in person than it is in pictures! The porch provides opportunity to be surrounded by nature without leaving the home. Takes about ten minutes to walk to the beach leisurely. Hot tub was functioning well, which not all hosts keep hot tubs maintained in rentals, so we appreciated that! Blake was personable while also respecting our privacy. Driving with a 4x4 car was easy peasy once we got used to it. I would definitely book this place again! Thank you, Blake!

HIGHLY recommend this 3 bedroom/2.5 bath house if you are ever wanting to rent in Carova Beach … but you MUST have 4X4 to get to it. It’s only about 5 years old, beautiful, super clean, they have EVERY kitchen appliance, utensil, beach chairs, toys, extra fridges, etc. … and the owners are amazing (even towed out our Papa and Auntie when they got stuck b/c they didn’t have 4 wheel drive). They answer any question almost immediately and are almost always available

The owners were amazing and answered any and all questions we had very promptly. This property was a joy. We hadn’t stayed in a 4x4 beach house in OBX yet and now we’re hooked. The house was fully on the sand with no paved roads around. Not AWD, true 4x4 required to get to the beach house. Even though the beach access road can be navigated with AWD, from there to the house you probably wouldn’t make it. This made it more exciting for us and added to the charm. The views were spectacular. Sunset from the front balcony, sunrise from the back balcony and master bedroom window. Simply perfect. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, open floor plan, and all the little extras that are perfect for a warmer stay. Although we had our getaway in cold weather, we thoroughly enjoyed the views, the quiet, the hot tub, and our exploration of local flavor and the 4x4 neighborhood we were in. Just parking in front of the beach and taking in the view with practically no one on the beach was so enjoyable. This was a wonderful property and would work well with up to 4 adults and 2 children. I would definitely come back to this one and is probably one of my favorite rental properties so far.

We had such a relaxing stay. The hosts provided books, beach toys, games and every cooking item you would need! My four year old had a blast playing connect 4 and doing all the puzzles. We did not leave the house except for a few hours to drive around and go to the beach. We will come back again for sure!

This house is WONDERFUL!! We were a bit apprehensive about driving on the sand, but it was a piece of cake so don't let that deter you from staying here. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. Lounging on the back deck is an option if you don't feel like making the short walk to the beach.

The house and location are amazing but by far the best part of this place is its owners, Blake and Vicky. We've stayed in the 4x4 area of OBX many times. The property is just perfect ... location is nicely secluded and quiet but still provides nice views of the ocean from the back deck. The home has everything you need, is spotlessly clean and well-maintained, and has plenty of amenities to keep everyone entertained in good weather and bad. They've thought of everything. Blake went well out of his way in helping us with a car problem we had while we were in town ... he referred us to a great mechanic and made sure what could have been a major problem didn't negatively impact our getaway weekend. He's a guy that truly cares about others. Thanks Blake and Vicky for sharing your home.

The house was beautiful and clean. The hosts were amazing! The property was the perfect place to get away from it all, but had all the modern conveniences. Closest store is 30-40 min drive on the beach. We were okay with that. Got all we needed before heading in. The 4WD beach was a blast for my sons Jeep. The Ford Escape got there but not as easily. The kitchen had everything for cooking meals. The windows and decks were my fave. Beds were great. We would definitely go back. Horses made their appearance. Absolutely loved this property!!

Our stay was comfortable and relaxing at Culpepper Cattle Co. We absolutely loved being tucked away amongst the trees, while still just being a few minute drive to the beach. The house was spacious and entertaining for the whole family. Great place!

We stayed in Carova Beach for a girls trip and absolutely fell in love with it. The house is in n area where alot of wild horses roam- we saw them everyday we were there! The house was very clean and spacious enough that we could spread out a bit. We loved both the front and back decks and appreciated the hottub after a dip in the ocean. We were a bit confused about how and where to air down our tires, but after we did it the first time, it was no big deal. Driving on the beach was one of our favorite parts of the trip! The last day we saw pods of dolphins swimming near the shore on our drive out! So beautiful!

First, Vicky and Blake are great hosts! The house is not first row. But you would never know it, terrific views from the rear deck and kitchen window. Mid-September sunrises were perfect, right between those houses that people are paying out the butt for. All the comforts you would expect are here. Great high top dining room table. Beds are really comfy. Couch is really comfy. Great kitchen, everything you need! Drive by traffic? What drive by traffic! Hot tub! Horses!
