We loved this casita so much last year, we returned for another visit. This is the absolute best location to stay in Loreto. We loved being on the beach, watching the sun rise over Isla del Carmen, kayaking from right in front of the casita, falling asleep to the soothing sound of the waves. The whole experience was amazing!

We enjoyed having sup, kayaks and bikes available, as well as a terrific guide recommendation for trip to Coronado Island. During much of our stay, it was quite windy. That put us inside more than we would have liked. The house is well designed to stay cool, but when it’s windy and cooler, outside, it doesn’t get very warm inside. The area by the pool does get sun and stay warm and pleasant. I’d recommend this house but would probably come a few weeks later, next time.

The casita is beautifully appointed and perfectly comfortable for a couple. Hang out on the beach side, enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Hang out in the pool or lounge in the sun. So relaxing. Quick drive into town. Catharine’s suggestions are spot on. Rigo is friendly and helpful. Definitely planning on coming back. Need to stay longer next time.

My husband and I had the most amazing 20th anniversary stay in Loreto for 12 incredible nights. Our only regret was we didn't stay longer. The pictures do not do justice of how great a place the property is. Catherine has thought of everything from robes, to postcards; beach chairs to towels. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on as we expired culinary paradise. Dubie took us out on a boat ride of a lifetime as the dolphins put on quite the show for us. Rigo was also a gem and his lovely wife. This trip was relaxing but also allowed for so much fun as we had the paddleboard out on the water nearly every day, visited other nearby beaches and took a bike ride (or walked in to town). Thank you Catherine for the special and kind surprise for our anniversary! Those strawberries were the tastiest! Also, the bottle of wine was superb! My husband and I are talking about when can we go back as this trip was heavenly (or we seriously need to become your neighbor!) Thank you for sharing your lovely home and slice of heaven with us!

I would've given this place 10 Stars but the limit is only 5 . I had few questions about this trip since it was our first time to Loreto & the Host answered all my questions & added useful recommendations . The Host also provided me with contact information for Rigo & Captain Duvis . Rigo covered everything we needed in the Main Land including pickup & drop off to the Airport . Rigo is highly recommended . Thank you Rigo he's such a wonderful man . Captain Duvis covered everything we needed on the 3 islands . Captain Duvis is very experienced when it comes to sightseeing the Islands Fishing Diving Swimming etc .... Very highly recommended . He even picked us up with his boat from the beach in front of the Casita & dropped us off again at the beach in front of the Casita . We had Captain Duvis for 3 days & he was a wonderful Captain . Thank you Captain Duvis . The Casita is right on the beach exactly what I wanted . The views are spectacular , even from the living room . The pool was heated that's an extra bonus . We used the Kayaks for the sea & the bicycles to go around town . Thank you for our Host for providing to us this beautiful piece of paradise in Loreto & thank you for the information you gave to us for Rigo & Captain Duvis . Will I book this place again ? The answer is YES !!!!!!!

Would give more stars if I could! The casita was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Being on the beach and just the right distance from town was ideal. We loved watching the sun rise each day from the chaise lounges and seeing the beach activity (birds, fish, walkers, etc.) throughout the day. Having kayaks and bikes to use was amazing. Truly the perfect lodgings for a Loreto getaway.

I would maybe go with a 4.9 only because the bed was too firm for my liking, but perfect for my husband. The casita is exactly as advertised. Very clean. Well appointed. Very comfortable. A leisurely walk to the malecon is about 20 minutes. The wifi is weak & spotty. It forced us to decompress (oh darn!) ;). Watching the fish jump and the birds dive is really entertaining. Swimming & snorkeling in front of the casita is nice. Rigo is awesome! We really appreciated his willingness to help. This is a place I'd love to visit again.

The property and Cabana were immaculate. Waking up to the sound of the surf and seeing the sunrise with pelicans fishing was a treat. The property is far enough out to be surrounded by peace and tranquility, yet is only a short walk into town. Katherine is the perfect hostess. The caretaker Rigo and his wife are very pleasant and helpful. The experience was spot on and a home run in my book.

Perfect vacation rental
We had a wonderful time at the Casita. Just sitting and watching the sea was a delight, but then add a comfortable bed and furniture, the pool and outdoor kitchen and fabulous, easy to work with people and it become a little slice of heaven. We'll be back!

Perfect winter getaway!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Catherine’s gorgeous little casita right on the beach! The bikes were ideal for cycles into town to explore Loreto. The mornings were calm and perfect for stand up paddling. Loved the beach walks! Loved the pool for windy afternoons. Rigo the caretaker was fantastic and transported us both to & from the airport. Catherine was helpful and very accessible by email. All in all, a wonderful vacation!

Amazing getaway place!
Catharine's casita is an amazing spot for a getaway. It's located right on the beach with a short walk to town. Between the beach, pool, outdoor activities and local restaurants there is plenty to do, as well as find time to relax. Catharine was a fantastic host and 10/10 would recommend you come visit her lovely casita!

Absolutely spectacular
This property is spectacular and the owners are amazing. The casita is located right on the beach with a beautiful pool for the hot Mexican days. The hosts were extremely helpful. My wife and I had a couple moments where we needed a little help, including a failed attempt to rent a car and bad fishing experience. Catharine and Steve jumped right on it and offered assistance. I could not ask for better hosts. Everyone traveling to Loreto should consider staying here! We will definitely be returning.

Perfection!
We have stayed in Loreto many times and this is our favorite place to travel. We have always stayed in Nopolo, which is beautiful, but this casita blew it away. Close to town, on the beach and a private pool! What else could you ask for? Great host, numerous amenities and perfect location. We will be back!

Return Visit
This was our second time at Casita Katarina. We had a great time here last year and wanted to come back a few weeks earlier when the weather and water would be a little warmer for paddling and swimming. The weather was perfect and we were able to SUP every day of our trip with the provided equipment. This is a beautiful setting right on the water close to town. Also, we fell in love with Catherine's new kitty, Isabella, who stole our hearts. Catherine and Gary were very accommodating in allowing us to visit a week later, while we had a day to kill in Loreto while waiting for our flight home.

We celebrated our anniversary at Casita de Catalina. We found it perfectly situated, well appointed, & host Catharine was the best.

Perfection
The casita was perfect for the 2 of us. We arrived at dark so we weren't able to see how beautiful the courtyard and views around were. However, the gentle surf of the Sea of Cortez lulled us to sleep in probably the most comfortable bed ever. The bedding was just right; not too hot, and not too cold. The first night we slept with the sliding glass door open, and were able to hear the sea and the music from the malecon (we arrived during the annual Whale Festival). Other nights we closed the doors. The house was extremely quiet every night there. The view off the back patio is amazing. We sea kayaked and stand up paddleboarded. The beach is lovely to walk on; we hardly saw anyone. We grilled fish one night in the outdoor kitchen, which was so pretty with it's amazing Mexican tile and furniture. It's an easy walk into town as well. The whole vibe is chill everywhere we went. We will definitely go back. Catherine is a great host; if you need her she responds right away.

Wonderful location!
My husband and I enjoyed the views from the Casita. It couldn’t be prettier. The week we were there was a bit windy but we absolutely loved languishing under the palms and looking out to the sea. Walking right out onto the sand with a beer in hand is the best way to go on a vacation. The Casita is a perfect launching spot for exploration. We rented a car but we also liked walking into town via the beach. We will be back!

Cozy and cute Casita on the shores of Sea of Cortez and walking distance to Loreto ~ Pueblo Magico
We stayed for 3 weeks at Casita de Catalina and would highly recommend it. We selected the Luxurious Casita on the Beach for the amenities offered, mainly came for the SUP'ing and photo opportunities. It did not disappoint. SUP'ing on Sea of Cortez was magical, we saw turtles, dolphins, and a variety of fish. The SUP boards were stable and the paddles adjustable. We enjoyed many SUP sessions early, as the wind was likely to kick up later. We experienced some spectacular sunrises, big payoff for getting up early. The private pool area is sheltered from the wind, great place for a nap. Loreto is a short walk on the beach, we found the town clean and the locals very friendly. We tried some recommended restaurants in town, some disappointments, Los Mandiles was our favorite. Vista al Mar is a short drive away, highly recommended for an authentic Baja clam shack restaurant on the beach with great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service.
The only possible negative for this review is the indoor shower with on demand hot water, I can't say I had a shower that was just right that lasted more than 30 seconds. It was too hot or cold. I used the outdoor shower for washing my hair, but it is not private.
We would have liked to see more effort at recycling.
