Cozy Lakeside Cottage, North Shore, Upper Hamlin 40 ft from waters edge
Venez profiter de notre NOUVELLE gite niché dans la forêt nationale de Manistee sur la rive nord, côté ensoleillé, du lac supérieur de Hamlin. Le chalet a été construit dans les années 1940 et a été entièrement rénové / mis à jour à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur. Les meubles, les armoires, les appareils, les draps, etc. étaient toutes neuves il y a seulement 9 saisons et elles sont toujours très propres, propres et bien entretenues. Vous apprécierez une vue panoramique de l'ensemble du lac supérieur et des couchers de soleil géniaux sur les dunes directement depuis votre terrasse ou le rivage. La pêche est excellente au large du quai. La navigation de plaisance, la natation, le ski, la randonnée, la dégustation de vin et d'autres activités amusantes vous attendent! Il y a aussi un foyer partagé au bord du lac. Le lac Michigan est à quelques minutes pour un pique-nique après l'après-midi ou une baignade. Le golf dans certains des meilleurs cours de l'état est proche. Ou, pour ceux qui aiment plus d'activité physique, amenez vos vélos pour faire des randonnées sur les kilomètres de sentiers dans la forêt nationale. Ou, si vous préférez, apportez un bon livre à lire tout en sirotant votre boisson préférée dans une chaise longue au bord du lac! Si vous cherchez 2 chalets à proximité, ce chalet peut accueillir 2 adultes et The Shadows on Hamlin Lake # 1 dort 5 adultes! (Voir la liste VRBO # 236973.) Idéal pour les amis et / ou les familles qui aiment les vacances ensemble, mais dormir / rester dans des quartiers différents. Tout cela vous attend à The Shadows on Hamlin Lake # 2. Nous vivons sur la propriété, à côté de ce gîte qui se trouve à environ 20 pieds du bord de l'eau. Parce qu'il est tellement près du lac, nous vous fournissons un panier de jardin pour prendre votre propriété dans le chalet, car vous ne pouvez pas conduire sur votre porte arrière. Vous pouvez entendre le lappage de l'eau sur le mur de rupture ou sur le mur de boathouse ci-joint. Pour certains, cela peut être un son relaxant et apaisant. Pour les autres……. Les enfants de 16 ans et plus sont les bienvenus. Nous n'avons plus de bateau pour votre usage / location. Cependant, il existe des marinas sur le lac avec des bateaux à louer.

Loved the place, exactly what I was looking for. Tucked in the peace of the Manistee National Forest you'll find this quiet gem. Great views of Hamlin Lake, a cozy cottage to relax and unwind, and not to far from all that Manistee and Ludington have to offer. Hosts were excellent and I look forward to returning. If you're into woods, water and quiet, it's perfect.

Cute little boat house with everything you need for a great getaway on the lake. Clean and very well stocked in all areas. From chairs and tables outside to TV and fully appointed house.
Owners were very helpful with the lay of the lake and the best places to fish and Sun. Also hiking trails near the house and a short drive to the fantastic lake Michigan.

The cottage was exactly like shown but even better views. Deb was very responsive and we had everything we needed. The cottage was very clean, Kitchen was well stocked with the necessities. It was perfect for our 4 night long weekend. Location was perfect for hiking and Lake MI beach at Nordhouse Dune area. Hamlin lake is a treasure by itself. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

2nd time at the shadows … first time in the cottage closer to the lake - absolutely wonderful. Some of the best relaxation we could have asked for - evenings at the firepit, days on the swing and listening to lake splash against the dock. We found this listing during the pandemic and desperately craved the peace and tranquility in spite of having the flexibility/freedom to fly to a vacation destination . We made the 6hr drive from columbus,OH because Deb and Mark’s place is just that comfortable, relaxing and exactly the dose of unplug we needed before the summer officially ends.

Beautiful property, beautiful cottages, a bit of a challenge to get there but once there, no regrets. 30 minutes to Ludington, 20 minutes to Manistee. Hosts were so accommodating. Great experience.

We have stayed at the Shadows in the past
The house is great for 2 people but can accommodate 4. Very clean and comfortable. The location is close to Nordhouse dunes that has great hiking . We went into Ludington and Manistee, both great towns with State parks. Deb and Mark are helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the Adirondack and zero gravity chairs, lots of shade and sun on the property. Good for boating or kayaking. Would recommend this VRBO to anyone

Peaceful & Gorgeous View
The 5 mile gravel road is well worth it for this view. We brought our kayaks and it was a perfect place to paddle. My husband loved that he could fish right outside the cottage doors. The owners live close by but were very good about giving us space and privacy, yet responded quickly when we messaged them with questions.
We enjoyed the puzzles and games provided (Uno, Yahtzee) on the rainy days!
Well stocked kitchen where we made the majority of our meals (get groceries before you come, the nearest grocery stores are about 30 mins away).
Not having a washer and dryer was the only downfall but we were able to hand wash the things we needed and hang them on the clothesline provided for outside drying.
We would definitely stay again and will recommend to friends !

The entire process went so smoothly from booking the trip through the entire8 day stay.The unit by the lake is exactly as appears in the VRBO listing.and so adorable and very clean. Deb and Mark are awesome hosts, anything you need they will help (Mark even set up my new fishing rod). I would definetly recommend the Shadows for a very relaxing vacation.
