We really enjoyed the house during our hot August weather. Lots of time spent in the water on boats and fishing. The kitchen was well equipped to feed our team of 10. We will be happy to stay again in the future.

The property is beautiful and home is very comfortable; we lived on the screened in porch. The home is immaculate and the kitchen is well stocked and works well for our family for meal prep. The property, and lake provide a relaxing and fun vacation for our 4 generations.

We elected to stay at this property during Thanksgiving, so I could spend it with my parents near their home, but also far enough away that it felt like a "getaway" location. Overall, the house is amazing. There were 7 of us in all, and we didn't feel squished together. There was plenty of room to handle our group (and more, had I needed). The kitchen was large and accommodated our needs for the holiday - everything I needed was there (utensils, appliances, etc). There was even several rooms to stretch out and relax in, like watching television, cozying up with a book or just taking in the absolutely picturesque view of the lake (the star of the show). Beds were clean and comfy, bathrooms were great. We had plenty of towels and linens to cover all of our needs. I would also like to mention that the property owner is spectacular, answering any questions I had quickly! An additional tip... Waze tells you to go the wrong way to get to the house, sending you down a gravel road to someone else's property - so make sure you watch the address and what road you're on carefully. Once you get it though, it's very very easy! I don't count that against this property, though - it's five stars all the way.

There was so much to do at the house that we only left to shop for groceries. The kitchen was perfect for making large family meals. We played ping pong every day. Kayaking on the serene lake was everyone’s favorite activity. We sat on the dock and watched the sun set. And fires at night on the beach were a great way to end the day.

The house and setting were amazing. Better than we could have expected. The kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking requirements. The whole house was spotless and the view to the lake absolutely gorgeous. Sitting on the lanai was a real treat. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the Chicago area. Super quiet for sleeping and very comfortable beds. All in all an overall excellent experience. Well done to the hosts for providing such a beautiful property to rent.

We stayed with our toddler, baby and the grandparents. Such a great place for young kids. The lake is very quiet and safe. Perfect beach for the toddler. He had a blast trying to catch all the fishes! Beautiful scenery from the screened porch. Amenities are very nice. Host was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

We had 4 adults and 3 children under 12 years old who went on a family getaway from Chicagoland. The house has been renovated nicely and had all the amenities we needed. The house was located on a private lake in a very quiet area. Our kids loved the kayaks and paddle board. They also had a bedroom to themselves. We spent everyday enjoying the lake, either on the water, fishing or sitting on the beach or in the screened porch. We were looking for a quiet place to getaway and found it. We would definitely come back for a long weekend.

This lake house is perfect for our family vacation and we have booked it twice now! Between the beach, dock for fishing, watercraft options, screened porch, and garage/rec room, we have non-stop fun!

The home is beautifully remodeled and very comfortable and the host is responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful week with 4 generations of family from ages 1 to 88. The screened in porch is our favorite room to gather. The kids enjoyed the sand and beach and lots of land to run. The kitchen is roomy and great for preparing and serving meals. The home and property were beautiful and obviously well cared for. Quiet and peaceful, great location. This home was fully equipped and worked out perfectly for our family. Our favorite was the screened in back porch where we enjoyed our meals and family time together.

Such an incredible gem! We already knew that this home was going to be awesome from the VRBO listing and reviews but it was beyond our expectations! Our family - me, husband, 9 and 7 year old, along with fun Grandma - loved every single inch of this perfectly cozy minimalist home. A few of our favorites - the sunroom, the variety of kayaks, SUPs, fishing gun, the incredible yard, the firepit, the ping pong table, the basement room with two beds perfect for our boys, the peace and quiet, the kitchen window, the uncomplicated and fun decor, the air-conditioning, the dock provided hours and hours of goodness. This perfect home and location was magical and I can't thank you enough for the care that went into making it special for your guests.
Our 6 day stay included a train ride to Chicago, which we picked up 10 minutes from home. A visit to Milwaukee to see the Brewers play our home team - The Rockies!
10 out of 10 - would recommend this stay to anyone!

Perfect Family Getaway!
The house was perfect for our family vacation! The access to the lake and beach was very convenient. The beach was bigger than expected and offered hours of sandcastle building fun. The lake was calm and watching sunsets from the beach gorgeous! Highly recommend this property!

Lovely Getaway
Family vacation - lovely house, well equipped and maintained. Everything you could want in a lake house get away. The fisherpeople in our group loved the lake - as it is grassy and had lots of lily pads. We all enjoyed the shore and the beach area - which is cleared of grass and allows for splashing around on shore. The screened porch was the ideal hang out location. We were all very comfortable, and had a great stay.

Beautiful place
The property was beautiful and as described. The house was incredibly clean, supplied with everything we needed for our stay, and well situation for our group of 10. We were fortunate to have super warm weather that was great for swimming. We enjoyed the beach, it was great for our kids ages 2-10. The biggest complaint is there were many snakes in the lake. Could have been the time of year or due to the abnormally warm weather (95 degrees in mid June), but the snakes really freaked us out. We saw multiple ones every day we were there. We just kept an eye out for them and still enjoyed the lake, beach, and kayaks. The kids also enjoyed fishing, they got a bite just about every time they dropped in a line. Overall a beautiful place, but just be aware of the snakes in the lake before swimming!

Thanksgiving Success
We rented this property to enable some family time during the holidays. The space was great, plenty of kitchen supplies to prepare the thanksgiving dinner, and we especially enjoyed the puzzles and games available in the house.

Great House on a Quiet Beach
We brought our 6 and 2 yr old and stayed with friends with similar aged kids. The location was great as the house is on a quiet lake with incredible beach (sandy and shallow which was perfect for young children that can’t swim), yet very close to fox lake and just outside Chicago. The house has a great screened in patio with dining table with sunsets every night. The layout of the house was perfect for two families (we stayed in two queen bedroom downstairs, other family had the upstairs, and middle level was common areas). Lake was calm as no boats so could take kids out in kayaks and paddle board. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed in order to cook each night. In times when it rained, the garage was a great play place with ping pong table. Overall we highly recommend. Couldn’t think of anything that wasn’t up to expectations!!

There is plenty of room in this house for a group of 6 friends. Fabulous amenities - ping pong, kayaks, floats, SUP, grill, games, etc. Well stocked kitchen is a huge bonus!

Peaceful Getaway

A true hidden gem
This house is nicely remodeled with beautiful views of a peaceful little lake. The beach and pier are adorable, complete with Adirondack chairs surrounding a fire pit. The lake is perfect for using the kayaks, paddle board and tubes. The kids loved swimming and fishing from the dock. The adults loved hanging out in the lovely screened in porch. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are pristine. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Amazing in all ways!
We rented this amazing house for a long weekend stay with family. There were six of us total. Plenty of room with lots of spaces for gathering or for having a little quiet time alone. The house was amazing. Clean and beautiful and comfortable. Everything has been updated and nothing is lacking. The location is amazing. The beautiful lake is right outside your back door with views from the porch and all of the rooms. The lake is a quiet lake, and we had fun using the paddle board and kayaks. The owners were amazing. They were quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and everything they said was accurate. I would come back to this place in a heartbeat!

Far exceeded our expectations
We can't say enough great things about this place. The house was immaculately cleaned upon arrival and exceptionally well stocked, especially the kitchen. The property manager was incredibly responsive to all our questions and went out of her way to make us feel at home. She even brought over some freshly laid eggs from her chicken. The property has so much secluded outdoor space that it was perfect for our children to run around and play without any fears of cars going by. The beach and lake is definitely one of the highlights of the property. We have spent hours upon hours at the lake, relaxing, fishing, and kayaking with the top quality kayaks that are included for guests to use. We have never stayed at a place that like that felt both like home and a vacation that we always longed for.

Family time
My family of 10, including toddler and elderly, were all very comfortable. The variety of indoor and outdoor activities was perfect for all ages and the area is beautiful. Great memories were made on the paddle board and the kayaks. The kitchen was spacious enough and fully equipped for multiple meal-makers to create meals for the whole group without crowding each other. This place was perfect for us!

Reunion
We used the screed in porch, both the paddle board and kayak. We all went out to eat once at a pizza place near the house and a restaurant on the lake both were more than acceptable. Our reunion included 3 from New Zealand, 2 from Atlanta, 2 from Maryland’s eastern sshore, 2 from an island north of Seattle and last 1 from Sacramento. We used car, both Chicago and the house was convenient for a great two days for all.

Relaxing Getaway
Our family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lakefront home. The house was beautiful and very spacious. It was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our five day stay. We enjoyed eating our meals in the screened in porch overlooking the lake. We had a great time fishing off the dock and kayaking. It rained some while we were there so we enjoyed playing games and using the ping pong table. Most relaxing vacation we have taken and would definitely go back!

Perfect relaxation getaway
This house was beautiful and conveniently laid out. My husband and three young kids stayed for several days and loved everything, especially the sand area near the water! Lots of extras to make the stay more pleasant like water toys, extra toiletries, firewood, etc. Only thing we could complain about (if we were really searching for something to complain about) is that the dishwasher only worked on the heavy cycle and when we arrived it was full to the brim of dishes that we had to put away. But really that was just a minor inconvenience. The stay was seriously perfect! Just what we wanted and Kirstie was a fabulous host! Would definitely come back!

Fun experience, great location
The private little sand beach with the fire pit was great. The kayaks and paddleboards that came with the house were lots of fun and the dock is great for fishing. Well worth the money.

Relaxing place with plenty of space!
This place was amazing! Every room had a lovely view. We loved to eat outside and watch all of the wildlife on the lake. We love to cook and the updated kitchen had everything we needed. It was very comfortable- even for our large group. I was sad to leave and would stay at this place again in a second!

Lovely, immaculate and quiet with plenty of room for families.
This was a gem of a property located perfectly for our visit to family in Fox Lake. The bathrooms are terrific, and the house is immaculate. The best thing about the house was the two separate living areas. One suggestion would be to get some kind of dressers for the upstairs bedrooms. We stayed for a week and the hanging cubes provided were not large enough for two people to store a weeks worth of winter clothing. Compared to the wonderful amenities that the house did provide this was certainly not a deal breaker. Management company was responsive and easy to work with. We would definitely rent again.

Beautiful and Quiet Lake House
It was so lovely to sit and watch the heron in the yard and on the lake. We had so much fun with the kayaks. A beautiful and comfortable house.

Beautiful house on a tranquil lakefront site!
We loved our stay there! The house had everything one could possibly need: from grilling tools to cooking utensils to kayaks. The furnishings were lovely and welcoming.
We adults loved the screened in porch and the sandy beach area. The kids made good use of the kayaks and ping-pong table (and they can't wait to go back).
Kirstie was wonderfully accommodating in answering all my questions too! I highly recommend this property.
