House is like a step back in time. 70s A frame with a cool loft. We enjoyed it except for the extremely loud road noise from the deck. We also weren’t aware from the listing that the house is connected to another house, but that never interfered with our stay. Still would be good to have that in the listing. Clean, comfortable home. Host was very responsive.

House was as described. Close to everything in Madison . Big kitchen, bedrooms were comfortable. Living area and porch were nice. Josh was a great host, and would definitely stay there again

Beautiful A-frame cottage with a hippie twist. We absolutely adored the place. Very very clean and nicely kept up. The house has a nice little enclosed sunroom with an awesome view. We loved all the live plants throughout the place. Communication with the owner was wonderful and very quick. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Madison.

This year we had girls weekend in Madison. We had such a great time and this rental definitely added to it. We enjoyed that it was unique and not your average everyday house. We all slept great and really enjoyed the screened in porch. It was easy to get to State St and hit up the Farmers Market.

We just stayed at the Arborhouse for the second time. Once again, we were extremely happy with our stay! The house has a fantastic vintage feel while being very clean and comfortable. It's located in a convenient area of Madison, and it was easy to get wherever we wanted to go in the area. Communication with the host was easy and accurate. I would absolutely recommend this rental, and I'm certain my husband and I will be back again!

While visiting family in Madison we stayed at Arbor Hill House and it worked very well for us. The house itself is an interesting mix of modern comfort and great 60s vibe. It was extremely clean and beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and, though we didn't cook there, anyone would find it easy to prepare and enjoy meals. The host was very informative and responsive which made using the house a breeze. One caveat: if stairs present a challenge this would not be your choice but we did not find it at all difficult.

Perfect for a relaxing weekend - everyone loved the house. Everything was very clean, rooms are spacious, and the neighborhood is quiet. Host left very clear notes and instructions for everything. We would definitely stay here again!

This was such a unique home to stay in! We loved the architecture and it was close to everything. The owner communicated well and the house was very clean! We loved the loft and the sauna! We would recommend this home to any family. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home!

Quaint, beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. The property was very clean and spacious for our group of four. Would highly recommend!

Cannot say enough great things about this home. It was immaculately clean and cared for. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are great quality. Loved the greenery, the mid-century vibe and the festive touch of colored lights. Indoor parking was so appreciated given the weather and the proximity to downtown can't be beat. Just a treasure of a stay. Well done! We will be back.

This house was just what we needed for our girls trip! House was very clean and easy location to Uber or drive to local restaurants and bars. Very comfortable house, in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of room for us to lounge and hang out!

My husband and I and our son and his wife were in town for the world dairy expo. This was the ideal place for us. It is clean and homey. We would definitely stay here again

Easy access for the Madison area
Josh is great to work with. Enjoyed time hanging out on the screened porch to visit with friends and family. Only thing I wish they had was bikes but there are bike rentals all over the city.

4th of July weekend getaway
Josh was great to work with. One of our favorite things was relaxing on the screened in porch in the mornings while drinking coffee and watching the colors in the sky change. Because of the nice canopy cover, it was comfortable and enjoyable in the evening also. The kitchen had all the essentials. The shower head in the first floor bathroom was fantastic! The place was very clean and we enjoyed the very well kept 70s decor. Beds were very comfortable and we felt at home in the lovely A-frame.

A-Frame with a View
This is a truly special property with easy driving access to everything in Madison. We stayed here for a week and it always felt like coming home. The home retains a lot of original colors and features from the mid-70s while maintaining modern comforts and conveniences. The host, Josh, was prompt and courteous and easy to communicate with. We loved waking up to a view through the high A-frame windows, which let in lovely natural light all day. Neighborhood is far enough away from the hectic pace of downtown Madison, but close enough to grocery stores and other conveniences. Would definitely rent again.

Fun weekend place!
My daughters and I spent the weekend here to celebrate one’s 30th birthday. The house has lots of character and was clean and well maintained. Being under 15 minutes from the square and other attractions was perfect. Good times!

The property is beautiful but our experience was ruined by the extreme unprofessionalism of the owner upon check out. He had very specific instructions regarding stripping the linens from the beds before leaving which we followed to the letter. He contacted us via email about an hour after check out and thanked us for leaving the property so clean, taking his garbage cans to the curb on trash day, and for the drink coasters we bought and donated. A couple of hours later, he contacted us again and said that a comforter, sheet and pillow cases were missing and that he would be billing us nearly $200 to replace them. We replied and told him that everything that was on the beds when we checked in was what we left at the foot of the beds. He then replied and said that one of us must have had an "accident" (bedwetting, I assume), got embarrased and hid the evidence. I have no idea how he dreamt up this scenario but it was insulting to say the least. I tried to call him and speak to him directly but he would not answer nor would he return my voicemail. He then emailed us the next day and said that he found the items he accused us of stealing. Apparently they got mixed up in his laundry. We spent an amount of money not allowed to be disclosed in this review according to VRBO on a 3 night stay only to be insulted with wildly unrealistic accusations and then be expected to be satisfied with an "oops, sorry". It was extremely unprofessional and this owner should be embarrassed. Obviously, I will never do business with him again and I strongly recommend that if anyone else does, they take pictures and a detailed inventory of EVERYTHING in that house immediately upon check in.

Cozy, Fun Weekend Getaway
This house was such a treat to stay in! I was in town for a concert series at The Sylvee, so if you're okay with finding rides into town for your stay, this is the spot you want to be! Cozy space with fun style, all the necessities someone could ever want while staying at a home and close to many different areas. It was way better staying in a hotel, and being able to cook our own food. The host is very sweet, great with communication and detail. Highly recommend!

Spectacular space
We were all so impressed by the host, Josh, and the property. It was spotless on our arrival. The loft space was so relaxing, very zen. To be honest, my son turned the tv on for two short periods the entire time we were there. The entire space was warm and comfortable. It was easy to feel at home.

Cozy, clean, and well appointed.
When we found this property, I immediately knew this was where we wanted to stay. Arriving and walking into the home, it was obvious we made the right choice.
The layout of everything, the decor and live plants impressed me enough that I wanted to take care of everything as if it were my own. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was not loaded with perfumed laundry soap. Towels were thick and thirsty.
As a retired chef, I found the kitchen was nicely furnished. If you prefer to cook in stainless steel, bring your own pots and pans. All furnished cookware, with the exception of one large stainless steel pot were teflon. There were many sizes to choose from and they all had lids. There are baking items including cookie sheets, mixing bowls, and glass baking pans, and casseroles with lids. There was ground coffee and filters in the cupboard and some condiments in the fridge (catsup, etc). There were also some basic herbs in the cupboard. I had not ever used a cooktop but found it heated up quickly and was actually quite efficient.
Water pressure is great and the shower in the master suite was nice. If you are 6' tall, the slant of the A-frame may find you bumping your head in the master bath toilet area and shower. There is a full bath with tub and shower on the main level for tall people.
The sofa was so comfortable that it hugged you when sitting on it. There is also a recliner in the living room.
Overall, we loved this house so much that we would return. It is a very quiet house, even with the Beltline nearby. The spiral stairs took a few uses to acclimate to if you've never used one. The entrance through the garage and laundry room takes you up a flight of stairs to enter the home, if that may be an issue for elders or a bum knee/hip.
We give this home 5 stars. It is a real gem and the owner, Josh, is very responsive with quick communication.
We will happily be back.
