My husband and I decided to do a family vacation with our kids and their families. We chose Bear camp river front camp and it was the best decision we could have made. The host Debbie and her husband were very responsive with any questions we had prior during and even very responsive after our stay. The camp is very comfortable and easy to make yourself at home.So many things for big kids, little kids and yes even the old kids to do around the camp as well as on the river.Unfortunately we had to leave quickly and a little earlier due to a family medical emergency. We are hoping to do a redo family vacation here again next year. We highly recommend Debbie and Chris's camp...you will not be disappointed. We Thank Debbie and Chris for making their beautiful camp available to others to enjoy.

Myself, my husband, 2 kids (14/10) and our dog stayed here and absolutely loved it. It really has everything you need for the week. I am extremely picky when it comes to rentals being clean (we have had a few that were great in pics and upon arrival, were gross) and this house lived up to my over the top standards. Plenty of space for everyone. The outside was perfect and we all loved the rope swing and the trampoline!! Great week all around!

Wonderful property located on a river. Comfortable, fully furnished, functional for all family members.

My partner and I stayed with my two adult children, their partners, and three grandchildren, (10,7, 18 mos.) This house is exactly as advertised. I was worried that only one inside shower and two toilets might be an issue for 6 adults and 2 children, but the set up is ingenious. Getting ready in AM was never an issue. The room with the Q bed has a separate nook that fit the porta-crib perfectly. I am typically a hotel person as I know what chains have comfy mattresses. I will say I slept wonderfully! If you like to cook, the kitchen seems to have everything you could need, with plenty of seating. The sheds were full of everything you could want, chairs, floats, life jackets. I had not fished since I was a child and it brought back memories of me and my dad at a local pond. It was so nice to see my family enjoy the sport. It was something they have never done before in fresh water. (I think my son and SIL had a secret fishing competition going on). The rope swing was also a great source of fun.
Unfortunately, it's been a crazy rain season in NE so bring yard guard and bug spray, also, the river runs fast with so much rain, so start your canoe/kayak ride upstream so after you get tired, you can glide downstream. -- thank you Deb and Chris for sharing your beautiful home with us.

We spent the week with four adults and two kids and there was plenty of room for everyone inside and out. The location was perfect for staying home and enjoying the river and wildlife - we saw a family of deer, ducks, turkeys, and a heron; we also kayaked, fished, and swam. It's also very close to many hiking trails and it was great to relax our muscles in the hot tub afterward! There are shops close by and many great restaurants. We made smores by the fire one night, though the bugs were a bit thick. We were lucky to have great weather and overall we had a great time! Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing time spending most of our time in the river boating, swimming, and the kids loved the swing set, and swinging into the river. The owners were great with communication and helping us out when we had questions. Would absolutely come back here agian!

Our family had a wonderful vacation at Bearcamp Bungalow. It was perfect size for our large group. Everything we needed was right there at the home and it made it convenient and relaxing. Our group enjoyed kayaking on the river. We also were able to go out and explore the many sights and towns that were on our wish list! It truly was a home away from home during our vacation.

Just returned from our time at Bearcamp Bungalow. Although we had hoped for a dumping of snow during our visit, we had a fabulous time relaxing at the house, tubing, enjoying a dusk lit sleigh ride / ice skating, and most of all, ice fishing on Lake Chocorua Lake our last day! Check in was a breeze and the only minor hiccup was that we lost power our in the early morning of our first night due to the residual storm that rolled in that weekend.. Chris and Debbie were extremely responsive and communicative the entire time as the power was restored that same day. The home is a dream. Very cozy for 2 families with plenty of space and amenities. Waking up to a view of a beautiful river each morning was not too shabby either. I would absolutely love to stay there again over the winter and can only imagine how stellar it would be during the summer months as well. Thank you Debbie and Chris for an amazing stay. We made some memories that will certainly last a lifetime!

We stayed with the family to celebrate 40th wedding anniversary. Great house with amenities to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. Kids really loved the spot right on the river with Kayaks, Canoes and Tubes play with and we ended up enjoying the Kayaking to lake Ossipee.
Host Debbie and Caretaker Tim were on top of things and very helpful. Would rent the house again!

Our first day there it was pouring rain but my youngest son (age 12) was right out into the river fishing and catching frogs!!! He typically only plays video games never leaves his room. My older two teens went kayaking with us and in the hot tub with us (They usually dont do things with us anymore) i thought to myself on the very first day its already worth every penny we spent to rent this place for the week i was so happy 😊 we fished and Jumped into the lake from the water trampoline. And of course the rope swing my boys and dad jumped from that not me. We also rented a pontoon from "lake front landing" which was surprisingly affordable and they were awesome with us. New Hampshire folks are so very nice. Right up the street we went and checked out the park which had a really nice swimming area and the playground there was beautiful mybyounger two loved it. The house was just really perfect I have zero complaints my only complaint was that i had to leave 😔

Our family trip to Bearcamp Bungalow was wonderful! This beautiful home had plenty of space for fun and relaxing! The private location, huge outdoor deck with comfortable seating, separate fire pit, and hot tub were extra bonuses! The river was a joy! We canoed and kayaked down to Lake Ossipee twice-where we enjoyed a picnic lunch and played at the soft sand bar with our 2 young children. The caretaker Tim went above and beyond! Tim assisted us with the boats and provided us with area information.
We had a blast playing in the sand, fishing (even caught a few!) and swimming in the river at the private beach located right on this lovely property!
Thank you for opening up your special home and letting us make such wonderful family memories! We can’t wait to return!

My family and I throughly enjoyed our stay at BearCamp Bungalow
What a great place, everything you need is there for you, everything!
Tim the caretaker was helpful and close by if we needed him, everyone from kids to grandparents loved the access to the water, all fished every day, kayaking was perfect, we brought our boat and went to Ossippe Lake more than once… very private and peaceful there…

Our stay at Bearcamp bungalow was the perfect start to summer! Even with three families, we had plenty of room. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and relaxing in the hot tub during the day. In the evenings we had dinner on the deck and roasted marshmallows over the campfire to make s’mores. Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us! We are already looking forward to more fun on the River next summer.

This is a beautiful cabin and property with access to Lake Ossipee via a canoe or kayaks along Bear River. Along the river we saw: bear, deer and fawn, eagle, great blue heron, little blue heron, beavers, osprey, Canadian geese, Mallards, Mergansers.
We would highly recommend renting this place. Debbie and Chris are wonderful hosts opening up this very special place for our family gathering.
They communicated extremely well with us from the beginning to the end.

Bearcamp was the highlight of our trip to the White Mountains. Debbie and Chris were responsive to all of our questions and their home was beautiful. We loved the hot tub and fireplace - especially after our hikes. Can't wait to go back!

We had an amazing time :) We stayed over Columbus Day weekend to hike, enjoy the foliage and some of the nearby shops and breweries.
Tim was great (the local property manager). He met us to check-in and gave us the quick run through on the property and area. He lives nearby and replied promptly if we ever needed anything, but for the most part left us to enjoy the home in peace.
The House was very roomie, well stocked and perfect for our group. The couch and fireplace made a great movie night spot. The firepit was behind the house with a great clearing above for star gazing.
The house is right at the bend and has 2 decent sized stretches of private riverfront beach. We had our pup with us, she loved the river! The outdoor shower was super convenient to clean her off afterwards.
The area had plenty to do, we did a day trip driving through the Kancamagus Pass (~15 minutes north). Plenty of hiking trails in that area for all levels. We did a day trip up to North Conway (~35 minutes) for minigolf, shopping and a couple breweries. We did a quick trip down to Wolfeboro (~20 minutes) for dinner and to charge my car. Very convenient to everything I could think of doing in NH. Looking forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you!!

Our family had such a great time that we can't wait to go back again next year. Even though the water was too cold to swim, we still enjoyed the river with the owner's canoes and kayaks. The owners and caretaker were very friendly and easy to get a hold of if needed. Looking forward to renting from them again in the summer when we can take full advantage of the river. We may never leave the property. 🙂

We traveled up with my brother and sister in law with our 5 kids and had a blast.. so much fun with the river right there. Plenty of tubes and water stuff.. it rained a little while we were up but the living room/dining room was great for all of hanging around. Definitely would recommend this house.

So fortunate to have come across Chris and Deb's listing because it was AMAZING! We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities. Bearcamp Bungalow had endless amounts of fun.
Our group consisted of 6 adults, a 4-year-old, two 1.5year old twins & an 11-year-old yellow lab. There was plenty of space for all of us, especially nice having two toilets and two showers (inside and out). The cabin is very spacious and dining room table large enough to provide family dinners and game nights! After a great night sleep on the comfy beds, it was nice waking up to the birds chirping. Mornings were spent heading outside for morning coffee on the deck while the kids enjoyed the endless amount of games and toys provided (we really didn't need to bring our own games). Most days were spent down at the river, either right out front but mostly at the beach area. It was great having all chairs, life vests and tubes/rafts in the shed to bring down. The water was so clean & it was easy to enter for all ages (from my 66-year-old Dad to the babies)! We also loved getting on the floats and relaxing in the river & swimming to pyramid rock! Putting our chairs on the water’s edge w/ a drink in hand and tunes playing from the (provided) speaker was so relaxing! We really lucked out with weather as our entire week was 90*, minus the day we left which rained. We felt so lucky : ) Speaking of being lucky, we also caught a couple fish, one via a lure and the other a worm (bought at Kevin's down the road). The grills were great to cook out on and the kitchen had everything you could need for a family dinner. Ending the day in the hammock or in the hot tub was relaxing and when the hot tub stopped working one day, Tim (caretaker) was a phone call away! One day we rented a pontoon boat out of Goodhue Boat Company on Ossipee Lake It required no license and it was great to explore Lake Ossipee. We thoroughly enjoyed going over to the sand bar to swim, unwind with some cocktails and enjoy the beautiful views!! Overall, Bearcamp Bungalow had everything we needed or wanted for a relaxing getaway! Yard had plenty for space for yard games and despite the hot weather, we couldn't pass up one night by the firepit for smores! Chris & Deb, THANK YOU for having us and especially my dog. At his old age, Cisco was living his best life and I was so grateful to be able to include him on our family trip! Love, the Halls of Kingston Mass

We were a group of 9. This house is beautiful and we all fit nicely. Having 2 toilets was great. The outdoor swingset was awesome along with plenty of space to run around and a fire pit. The only downfall we experienced was that all 5 kids got several leeches from swimming in the river.

This is truly a perfect location and house. The placement on the river, the large yard, and the overall condition of the property were great. The hospitality of the caretaker, the communication with the hosts, and the overall location made it even better. We would definitely stay here again!

My family had the best time at Bearcamp Retreat! The place is even more beautiful in person than the pictures. The river was perfect for swimming, floating, and fishing. Though, we loved being able to look down into the water and watch the fish more than catching them. We enjoyed the huge yard, that has all that a family could want in a get away. The fire pit is nice and big perfect for cooking over the fire.
The house itself is so welcoming and has all the comforts of home. We were able to make full meals and had plenty of room. The beds we used were firm and comfortable, we all slept great. Super clean!
The location is perfect for the day trips that we did. There are stores close by, even fast food, but you would never know that while sitting there enjoying the deck. We could hear a little traffic, but that was mostly when it was heavy or a large vehicle hit the rumble-strip.
And finally, Tim. Tim is the caretaker that lives just next door. He popped over to make sure we had everything we needed, answer any questions we had about the house, and offer his knowledge about the area. He even offered to drop us off to float the river. We rang him with a question once and he was quick to respond.
All around, one of the best rental experiences I've had. Thank you so much Debbie & Chris!

This property feels cozy, but allows you to spread out! Love the different hammocks, swings, seats and beaches. Had fun trying out the canoe, and our dog loved swimming right from the frontyard! The view from the hot tub is great. And the beautiful fireplace is nice to sit by at night. As another reviewer said, there is some noise from the road, but between the birds, the scenery, and for us the sound of raindrops, it fades into the background.

An adorable house with every amenity you can think of! Beautiful wrap-around deck overlooking the river, huge table for family dinners and board games! My husband was in his glory with the 6-burner gas stove! Plenty of comfy beds, a huge couch for movies, and a gorgeous fireplace!! Definitely a wonderful family vacation home!!

We had the best time at the Bear Camp Bungalow. We arrived in a snow-storm on a February evening. The home was warm and cozy (and immaculate). Debbie and Chris were super responsive; there is a caretaker who lives nearby and had the driveway, deck and walkways cleared of snow before we'd finished breakfast. Much of the furniture had been updated compared to the pictures when we reserved -- so it looked even better than advertised. We loved having the hot tub and the fire place. The kitchen is great and was a joy to cook in. We were 20 minutes from King Pine Ski area, which was great for teaching our 5 year olds to ski. We absolutely loved our time there and are hoping we can find a time to go back again soon.

This is a lovely house and fabulous property with lots to offer. We enjoyed the kayaks, fire pit, and hot tub. The traffic noise from Rt 16 was a little annoying but is the price you pay for a convenient location. The house is well stocked with essentials and was very comfortable. Fantastic family weekend!!

This rental was wonderful: everything as described and shown in the listing and more! Our stay was in late August and, even though NH had drought conditions, the river was wonderful--deep enough for swimming at this property--and was very easy, even for beginners, to navigate upstream and then back down using the kayaks and canoes on the property (we didn't have a chance to go downstream to the Lake). The river winds around 3 sides of this property and although there are a few houses on the same little street, it is very private when you are at the house and enjoying the river. In one of the photos you can see another house directly across the river, but that home is up high on a bank and without a beach/launch area, so you have others on the shore right across. The property has 2 nice sandy beaches (there is one to the right that is not really shown in the pictures). The house and wrap-around deck, seating, and hammock was all wonderful. The hot tub is for about 6 people and was an older model, but was absolutely wonderful and there is a great outdoor shower (with hot and cold water) right next to the hot tub. The house was clean and inviting with great lake-side decor and had everything needed. In addition to the rope swing, water trampoline on the river, kayaks, canoes, and wide variety of tubes and floats, there is also a playset for younger kids with swings, climbing wall, etc., a nice large field that could be used for soccer, baseball, frisbee, etc., and a variety of board games. Tim (caretaker) greeted us on the first day, checked the hot tub, and shared a wealth of information about the property and area. Then he let us enjoy our privacy (but was a phone-call away if needed). In addition, the property owners were very responsive to our questions and inquiries before and after booking. Give this place a try!
