The room smell, dirty

We stayed as it was the only way to attend our friends wedding which was at the hotel. The wedding was lovely.

First of all we thought it was shocking that as a wedding guest the only way we could attend the wedding was to pay to either stay or pay for a guest pass which would cost over $200 and only allow us to stay till 6pm… The mini bar was only stocked with coke beer or water we were told of you wanted anything different you had to pay? This is not all inclusive; we’ve never experienced this before. We weren’t asking for fancy spirits just simple soft drinks. We only stayed one night and ate at the hotel twice. Very limited buffet options for such a large hotel. I got severe food poisoning following eating in the buffet after eating pork. I wouldn’t attend if you want a nice relaxing break. Lots of activity around the pools etc. Air con in the main bedroom didn’t work and there were ants all in the bathroom which appeared to be the same for a number of our friends also staying at Barcelo.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The buffet and snack bar offered good food selections.

The à la carte seafood restaurant was very disappointing. There was no working wifi on the beach.

I was not told there was a premium option or I would’ve went for that. Food could’ve been a little bit better. Wi-Fi was unusable.

For a supposedly "family friendly hotel" - its rather poor at this. By just having high chairs and a kids club I wouldn't call this family friendly. No kids friendly menu, just junk food really. No facilities for kids ie pool, play areas, kids menus etc. I would more call this, they accept kids and do a little bit to accommodate it. We had the premium package, but there's a lot of miscommunication between staff about what it includes. Such as higher quality drinks at the restaurants, front desk said yes but the restaurants said no. The supposedly premium lounge is poor btw, nut really a lounge but a room in a corner with some tables and a couch.

Food and drinks are bad.

The location was awesome. It was secluded a little bit south of Puerto Vallarta. The beach was quiet and the rooms were spread out with space. If you plan on doing a lot of activities in town each day, Barcelo is not the place for you. The pools were awesome. Lots of places to sit and find a spot. I also loved that each room has a patio.

The food: it was hit or miss each day. It wasn’t warm and we ended up being sick a couple of days. Be warned of the sushi. Make sure you make dinner reservations otherwise you’re stuck at the buffet. No transportation to and from the airport. No shuttles to get you around town. Expect to pay $30 round trip each day in taxi fares.

there are bugs In the room small bugs everywhere in the bed while sleeping they were on us !on the sink on the tables couch I love the place but bugs small tiny bugs some kind of compensation should be given I had to leave all my luggage outside when I got home

Breakfast was great. Nice variety of foods. We did have a few waiters that were a little grumpy. Loved the view and eating on the terrace each day

The dining staff. Most of them were very nice and friendly. A few were grumpy.

Food options were limited. They offered almost no water sport's assistance or support.

Location is fantastic. Staff is very friendly. Capri restaurant is excellent. Kyoto Japanese is also very good. Free kayak available. Pool area is fantastic

Overall food in dining area is very mediocre. Wifi sucks. Hotel seems dated. Elevators are cramped. Drinks appear to be watered down.

the pool closing at 8P. sunset was at 8P. would be nice to be able to do. ugh t swims for the adults.

Staff and location were AMAZING! View, pools and landscaping were beautiful. Loved the beach shopping and massages.

The food in the restaurants was a bit bland. In addition, we unfortunately experienced some uncomfortable sickness from it. :(

The staff for the most part were very nice and helpful. The rooms were nice and the beds were super comfy. I also enjoyed there being an adults only pool. The location was nice too and secluded away from the downtown area.

The food was ok. Nothing exceptional. If you are doing multiple excursions as well, not ideal taking a taxi for 40 minutes to and from downtown every day.

I really have nothing bad to say about my experience with Barcelo. The property was stunning and well kept. Since it was outside of downtown PV, it felt like a remote island. One thing that I must mention is that the service here was AMAZING and everyone works so hard to make your stay enjoyable.

Some people may not like the drive to/from downtown PV since this hotel is further out. IMO the buffet was better than the restaurants.
