The room was comfortable and relaxing. The staff were very helpful. Location was very good. Parking price was very reasonable

Desayuno bastante nutrido y diverso. Pero algo pesado. El clásico desayuno inglés, me parece una bomba de calorías y colesterol. La habitación era cómoda y silenciosa. Amplia. Baño con ducha rica.

Algo oscuras las habitaciones. Primero nos dieron una que estaba muy encerrada y no se podía abrir la ventana. Solicitamos cambio y accedieron sin inconvenientes. Algo lejos del centro y lugares de interés de la ciudad.

Central for where we wanted

Good historic location. Staff are nice, but are rushed off their feet. While we were there, there seemed to be relatively few people working at the hotel, resulting in overworked staff. Props to the staff, particularly the Scottish lady who seemed to be doing everything around the bar!

Stayed in room on third floor, which happened to be above the kitchen. Rumbling noise from fan for a large part of the day with a strong smell of cooking oil. Toilet was quite small ... not too sure why. The breakfast was quite disappointing, with basic items not available. For the evening meal, we were seated in the bar and not in the restaurant. Apparently the restaurant was fully booked despite being practically empty -- something about being set for breakfast service. The bar tables are not really large enough for a dinner of more than two people. Parking fee of £8.50 per day was, we felt, rather steep. We feel this hotel is not up to the standard expected of a DoubleTree.
