We took the last seven years off due to the passing of the grandparents. Last Summer a few of us floated the idea to come back and it spread like wildfire - every single one of us came. We also brought new additions because the family has grown. We had 34 people. It went great!

Water shut off for repairs with no warning. Bedroom had no window. While playing on the beach was confronted as being disruptive to neighbors. Im 68 years old. No other people around. Could go on and on. One or two old bitties 1/4 mile away with binocs who are bored with life spoil it all and management fails to fix problem.

The cabinets are a little dated but we are on vacation so who cares. The unit was clean and the location is so close to the beach. The view from the back porch is incredible. Very roomy place! The throw rugs and curtains could be replaced but still not a big deal. Overall a great weekend !

We were 11 adults and three children 5 , 2 and 1 yrs. old, and rented two 3 bedroom units.One of the units was very well maintained and comfortable with beautiful views of the beach. The second unit , though closer to and with even better views of the beach , left a lot to be desired in terms of upkeep and comfort. The rugs were torn and dirty, the air filters filthy,the dining chairs needed to be redone etc, etc, etc... Despite that we all had a wonderful time.

From their logo to the pictures on the internet we thought for sure we chose the right place for some much needed R&R. The most positive thing about our trip was the weather,beautiful sunsets and starry nights. The Palm Island resort staff either dont like working there or need some R&R themselves.--When we made our reservations we were told that we could come early and there would be a good chance of our room being ready early, so we got there around 12:45 and it ended up not being ready until after 5pm!. I was told nothing else was available and it wasnt until several frustrating phone calls that they offered us a complimentary meal while we waited longer.--Our villa was nice but was still DIRTY when we finally got into it (hair balls and left over food pieces on the floors and couch,drinking glasses with lipstick marks on them) I ended up vaccuuming and cleaning ALL of the dishes before we even unpacked.--At 7:50am the next morning we were awoken to the loud noise of a pressure washer! The pool patio furniture was being cleaned,but they didnt clean the pool sides that were all grimey and gray.--OVERALL the resort staff is NOT welcoming or friendly--they dont smile or act like they enjoy what they do (except for front desk staff and one very pleasant African American man who welcomes you when you park your car in the lot.)Even as something as simple as waving back when you pass by them in your golf cart. --We ended up picking up trash on the beach when we noticed it was still there from the day before Resort staff could definitely use some customer service lessons to make their guests feel like they are welcomed and wanted back.

WHEN WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE AWFUL "BUTTER" OUR SERVER BROUGHT US A SECOND ROUND AND SHE DID NOT EVEN REALIZE MARGARINE IS NOT THE SAME AS BUTTER.

Reviewer Comments: We had stayed at Palm Island Resorts before and was so impressed with the lodging and the location that we returned to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our children and grandchildren. When we arrived at our initial accommodation the front door was black with mold and the master bedroom bed sank in the middle. The overall place did not meet our expectations and we were immediately offered a new location which was beautiful. We were greeted with a gift basket to celebrate our anniversary and the staff were so kind, professional, helpful and passionate during our stay. We had a wonderful time on Palm Island. Renting a gulf cart is a must during your stay on the island. There are so many beautiful places to explore. We were delighted to watch the mother manatee and her baby. We saw dolphins. We played in the gulf, collected sea shells and enjoyed watching the sunsets. It is a fantastic place to get away from the crowds. We renewed our wedding vows on the beach and my wife even surprised with wearing her wedding dress. We love Palm Island Resorts and will return again.

Driving around on the golf carts and spending time at the beach/pool is always a great time. The villa we stayed in needed a good dusting and vacuuming under the rugs. Additionally, there were some minor repairs that need be made: the master bathroom door gets stuck, some drawers on the dressers get stuck, light bulbs need to be changed, the door to the loft bedroom squeaks and has a large chunk missing on the bedroom side. Minor repairs and adjustments that didn’t affect our stay. We can’t wait to come back.
