The house is a lovely old building, nicely decorated with interesting Highland themed artwork and stunning period features. Situated within Aberfeldy itself, in a very peaceful and quiet area, just a short walk from the local shops, pubs and restaurants. There's a lovely woodland walk around a burn, gorge and falls, you can join the path directly across the road from the house. This path also gives a handy shortcut right into the centre of the village. Unfortunately we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Claire, however, Mark was a very welcoming, friendly and helpful host. The dining room was bright and welcoming, with an amazing hand carved piece of antique furniture, that left me wondering in awe at the skill of the craftsman that made such a beautiful item. Breakfast was all freshly prepared and of good quality. Efficiently ordered the evening before. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Balnearn House as a base to explore Perthshire.

We were given a warm welcome by Mark and Claire, had a very comfortable, clean and spacious room and the breakfasts were delicious. It was a short walk to the centre of town and very close to the Birks of Aberfeldy. We would definitely recommend it .

The breakfasts were excellent with a number of choices. Each day you were given the opportunity to choose a different mix of items from cereals to cooked breakfasts. There was an excellent lounge area which was ideal for resting after a busy day or for reading. The garden was lovely and would be nice when the weather was favourable. The location was close to town for meals and the on site parking was generous.
