Clean, staff is amazing, friendly and helpful.

Not really a Carimar issue but Blanchards Beach Bar was disappointing, bird poop on many tables, chickens wandering around, kind of grossed me out. Food was good though!

The warm staff greeting set the tone. The proximity, just steps away from a stunning beach. Availability of water toys, paddle boards and snorkels. Great snorkeling in swimming distance. Laundry and gym facilities were excellent and air conditioned. Room was comfortable and spacious. Loved the outdoor patio.

Can’t think of one thing.

Top floor with beach view. Close proximity to several restaurants. Easy bike ride to supermarket. Ease of getting taxi and rental car and printing needed travel documents through front desk.

No business center. Cleaning personnel seemed put out and frustrated on two days when asked to come back later due to pending conference call with online covid testing. Kitchen sink continually stopped up. Shower wasn't cleaned each day. Hair on shower drain and broom bristles remained in same spot along shower walls since day one. Master bedroom had a persistent moldy smell which I believed came from the wall air conditioning unit. The evaporator coil should be sprayed with a sanitizing solution. Exterior door rigged the bottom of the floor and stuck making it difficult to close and open the door. Dead bolt did not throw all the way making it unlikely to hold off someone tried to force open the door. Door knob was bent and worn on outside. Difficult to unlock from inside as well. There was no threshold on the floor beneath the door forming a seal, making it easy for pests to enter. During our vacation, management asked us to leave for two hours so they could spray for pests subjecting us to possible hazardous chemicals even though they said they were safe. We've heard that before haven't we. This would never bye done in the US. They would spray when the rooms were vacant. Perhaps it costs too much to have the pest controller spray on demand or simply takes to much of their time to manage. That's enough.

Caricar is not a hotel or a resort: they give you a 100 square meters apartment with fully furnished and brand new kitchen. At one km there is a big supermarket where you can buy everything including italian pasta, wine, Hagen-Daz’s ice cream etc. so, if you wish, you don’t even need to go to the restaurant every day. Restaurants are very good anyway even if a bit expensive. Carimar strength is the beach, literally mesmerizing, one of the best beaches of Anguilla second only to Shoal Bay but not sure. Snorkeling gear and bicycles are free of use and if you wish, you can order pastries for breakfast. Everything is extremely clean an quiet but be aware that the island has a remarkable population of roosters that start screaming early in the morning :-). The Carimar complex is very nice with all rooms facing the sea or the beautiful garden ending on the beach: showers are available at beach entrance. You will definitely feel at home, staff are very kind and efficient, one of the best places we have ever seen!
