The food and the people
10.0
The staff were fabulous, the setting was beautiful but the showstopper was the food. Some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten and able to cater for dietary requirements (gluten free) really well so I didn’t miss out on the experience.
The table was also so beautifully set for each meal - we really enjoyed our experience there.
Nothing - it was stunning!

Each cabin in located in a great spot for each is private from the others, yet centrally located to lobby. It is very peaceful and relaxing environment. The ceiling fans In the rainforest rooms are also huge, so it doesn’t even feel hot at night while sleeping, with a large net to protect from bugs. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They made me feel so comfortable and not afraid to ask questions or need help. The farm tour with Mr. Kelly was very I formative and fun. I learned so much not just about the farm, but Panamá and how to be more eco-friendly (they even use banana leaves to wrap trash cans instead of plastic bags). He also helped us find a baby sloth sleeping in a tree. By far the best place I have ever stayed, especially someone who just needs a break from people and work. I would 100% live and work here if I could. BOOK THIS PLACE NOW.
MAYBE tell me the lunch/dinner menu the morning of in case modifications are needed.

Everything was amazing! The staff, food, bungalow and all the tours that were arranged for us. The bioluminescence tour and snorkeling were completly out of this world! The farm tour was also amazing and we got to see a sloth for the first time! I will remember this place always as being a great place to relax, enjoy nature and find some calm and zen! It felt quite the adventure for us sleeping in the jungle but being complelty comfortable with all the facilities of the bungalow and communal area of the lodge. Thanks to everyone at the jungle lodge we had a great time!
Nothing!

I loved everything about La Loma, starting from the location, and following by everything else (the staff, the food, the views, the sound of the jungle at night, the rain, the wildlife).
If I could go back to La Loma tomorrow I would without hesitation.
Nothing to not like here. Everything is top notch

The whole experience was amazing! It's hard to put into words all the things we liked. The tours around the farm and cacao were enlightening. The rain in the middle of the night cools everything down while the creatures of the night sing you a lullaby. We really appreciated the lack of TV.
The one and only thing was the floor on the shower needs some leveling.

Tree houses are amazing.
Self sufficient facility (energy and water)
It is a chance to sleep with high comfort but fully open to nature.
A chance for a free chocolate farm tour to better understand the process from tree nut to chocolate cake.
The meals are five stars restaurant quality: creative, fresh, cooked with local and property grew legumes and fruits.
A chance to see sloths and monkeys.
An unique experience not to miss.
It is an expensive experience (but worth the money)
No beach access. To get to any beach , you need to take a water taxi.
The bay is full of sand flees and mousquitoes.
The two trails from the hotel are small and notimmersive to Jungle like experience.

the whole stay at La Loma has been blissful! Everything from the service, the food, the adventures, the staff and genuine care and consideration for every little detail from the morning cacao treats outside our door, the meals, the nature LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT 🤍🤍🤍
there is absolutely nothing I would change/recommend

Food - Lots of Fish, but I don’t say that as a complaint. Food was well prepared and tasty, with good portions.
Farm Tour - I thought I wouldn’t care at all about this since I’ve seen cocoa trees and learned about chocolate making before… it ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. Mr. Kelly, the farm manager, shared so much interesting information, showed us plants we weren’t familiar with and had us eat a much of plants/leaves I wouldn’t have thought to try.

1. Everyone at La Loma couldn’t do enough. Sophia the manager on site was just amazing with all her guest. She would go around asking if anyone needs anything or what activities she could arrange for them. This personal touch is unique and wonderful. she was always smiling and always willing to help.
there is absolutely nothing I can say really. If I just say, then it would be the check-in. it would be nice to check-in at 14:00 rather than 16:00.

In our 4 nights we stayed in 3 different bungalows. The first night (unfortunately, just the one) we stayed at the rainforest king bungalow. It was absolutely beautiful, breathtaking views of the sea, the concept of an open, quality bungalow in a lush jungle is truly unique. Beautiful design. The place is tucked away in the jungle, which is exactly what you’d be looking for in a true jungle lodge. It takes a boat ride and good little hike uphill to reach but I like that. It’s the remoteness you crave for and it guarantees the untouched nature feeling in the surroundings.
The staff is very friendly. Particular thank you to Virgilio, Albertina. The food is great, the breakfast copious and always with local goods, including some chocolate nibs to add to the delicious granola and wonderful fruit bowl. They packed some fantastic lunch picnics for us to have at the beach, these were our favorite, very good, filling and always eco-wrapped. Would definitely recommend staying in this specific bungalow.
I was mislead by the pictures on their web and thought all the bungalows were as gorgeous as on their front picture (thinking the difference is more or less sea view/size) and that is what we were expecting and paying more than 400$ a night for. In the rainforest king bungalow, where we stayed for the first night, it was truly an experience for the senses and likely worth the cost. Unfortunately the other two bungalows had absolutely NOTHING to do (also that price range) with this idyllic illustration. I personally wouldn’t have paid more than 150$/night to stay there food included, let alone +400$!!! They are just nice hardwood terraces with a net tent dumped in the middle covering beds and night stands (whilst the new bungalow is an architectural work of art lost in the jungle). The family room nets urgently need changing (and upgrading) with all the holes and dirt on them. The bathrooms, specially their painted metal-roof quick fix walls scream for help. This place sells design and an open minded luxury on their web, not a youth hostel feel! We’d have never paid for what we got in the 3 nights after the new bungalow experience. Either make all bungalows like the new one or dramatically drop the prices to fit what you sell on the other bungalows! Even your staff agrees they are not in the slightest the same quality.
About the volunteers as part of your staff, honestly it isn't the best of ideas (for your customer). You can feel most are not professional at all, nor does it seem like they are very eager to work. Professional staff in boutique places is key and these guys are not the way.
Lastly: considering La Loma is on a tropical island and offering close to no activities in situ (hiking bridge broken), it's a true shame the rides to the beach are not included and cost 20$ return+ 5$per person entry fee each day. I realize all clients here can afford this, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth to have to pay extra every step...

Beautiful facility. Very serene vibes. Meals were delicious and provided an unreal view.
Activities during the day were all paid activities except the chocolate farm tour. These tours were typically priced higher than those in town.

Food was incredible. Staff was incredibly attentive, helpful, and polite.

The food was incredible. Chef Victoria did an incredible job taking the food from the jungle and turning it into a fabulous meal. We also loved that they delivered chocolate tea first thing in the morning to enjoy in our hotel room. The property was gorgeous and incredibly well built. Additionally, the wild life was incredible. We saw at least a dozen capucin monkeys from our hotel room. We were overcharged but Jose gave us a refund. Thanks to the staff for an incredible honeymoon.
It's a bit far from town, so it takes an extra fifteen minutes to explore that side of the bocas. la loma organizes boats so it's very easy but you need to commit to your timeline before leaving.

Great stay at the Jungle Lodge! Definitely recommend this place. Chef was amazing, the staff coordinated some great tours (dont miss the cave and farm!) and they have an amazing cat named Minchi!

The reception/restaurant is stunning and the views of the bay are incredible. I loved that they greeted us with a delicious drink when we arrived by boat. The food was really good, presented proudly by the chef and included mostly local ingredients right from the property, including amazing chocolate desserts and even a chocolate martini! The room/cabin was beautiful and private and I was shocked that a bed high up in the jungle could be that comfortable. I was a little worried about it being open air without a/c but there were fans and breezes and it was nice. From our room we saw monkeys crossing in the trees when we woke up and saw tons of parrots and a sloth while there. We took a tour of the property farm with Mr. Kelly who has been there forever and we saw how they harvest and make their chocolate . We saw dolphins in the bay on the boat ride over to a beach place - Palmar - where we spent the afternoon, a great vibe on a beautiful beach.
There are some trails you can take on the property which I walked which could have been better marked-added to the adventure for me.

The food was absolutely delicious, with all of the ingredients coming from the on-site farm. The chefs make some of the tastiest dishes I've ever had and come and explain what they've made, it's a very nice touch. In the morning you get a surprise package before breakfast, which is usually some chocolate infused tea to share with your partner and some homemade banana bread. It's an amazing way to start the day. The views were also awesome from the main area and the people were friendly/welcoming. The farm tour we had was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I learned an incredible amount and the farmer, William Kelly, is such an interesting and warm guy. I'd highly recommend staying here as it's such an experience! :)
There's nothing I disliked, this place is simply amazing! :)

This is a really cool place in the middle of the jungle, and a very unique experience with the room being completely open to the entire jungle! We had rain when we slept and it was cool.
The staff were really kind and especially Annie which helped us so much during our stay in anything we needed.
The food was really good and all the ingredients are grown at the farm which we had a really nice tour in.
A bit pricey for what you get.
The place is isolated and there is nothing else around (except the tours the place offers which are cool but extra cost).
Also there is no WiFi in the room, only in the main area, so get ready for some bonding.

The staff was beyond remarkable. Victoria, the cheff had immaculate creations each day using local produce. On my last day there, I requested some pineapple for desert. She took this request and ran with it! She made mackerel cakes with pineapple salsa, then she made a pineapple cake with chocolate pudding and pineapple chunks. All of this was handmade. The chocolate came directly from the trees and she processed it herself and made it into a chocolate pudding. I was only expecting a small bowl of pineapple fruit. But she listened to my needs and not only met but exceeded them. Annie, the hotel manager is like your friend. She is always willing to help she was always available, and gave excellent recommendations. Sati and her partner were very accommodating and friendly and also treated you as if you were an old friend. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and take in the jungle lifestyle.

Amazing location and views from the place, unbelievable food quality and services, the tour offered in the chocolate was a must.
A bit pricy, and the lunch was a bit too light.

The most amazing place which I got to stay at during my world travel!! The staff is incredible and super knowledgeable about the local fauna and flora. The Zapatilla tour there was a dream! The sizing with only four cabins makes the place even more special! I really hope to return to this paradise one day.

Everything, from room (you're in the jungle!) to meals to activities, everything was perfect.
Price was high but well deserved. Sometimes there was no hot water for shower, but it doesn't matter when you count the pros.
