Large room, big bed ,style of the room, very nice location very nice stuff Lovely!!!^^.
Light Less, water in bathroom too slow gone., Towels. The stairs difficult to get up very high and twitch but for me it's ok.^^
4.5
Comfortable bed, hot shower, storage for clothes. Excellent location. Staff at the restaurant very friendly.
The staircase was very steep, especially the top flight. It wasn't a huge problem but a couple more handrails would really help.

Location overlooking the market square suited us perfectly - if you are a very light sleeper and need your sleep you may be better off with a room that doesn't overlook the square as late night revellers and early morning market set-up could be quite intrusive. We felt that the interest that the view of the square provided more than compensated for any loss of sleep (and they do provide ear plugs!). Breakfast was in a friendly cafe just round the corner - very tasty and plentiful. The room was large and comfortable and was exactly like the advertised picture. The restaurant provided a good variery of interesting and tasty Asian-themed food, with a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and relaxed.
We loved staying here; the en-suite is very small in comparison with the spacious room. As other reviews have mentioned, the stairs are very 'Dutch' (steep and narrow) but it wasn't a problem.

Its a small hotel, or actually only several rooms above an Asian restaurant, but on a prime location. Its on the Town Square in a historic building.
It may not be a ‘fancy’ hotel like one/would expect but the rooms on the front side have a fantastic view!
What I actually like about this place is the charm. The top room is in a different color green and although there are surely some flaws (lighting, small trayin the shower) as on some spots you need to bend or the finishes are kinda DIY.
Let me say that I have stayed (and chosen) to stay 3 WEEKS at this place! So this is a positive message and would stay here again (as I will at the time of writing)
Simple things actually: better light and a small tray to put a soap and razor onin the shower (?).
Guess the touristtax to be paid is a bit a marketingtrick of them (most other hotels it is included in the paid price)

Loved the location and the staff where everyone was super helpful, plus the authentic feeling in the old Dutch building
I was super in love with the photos of the blue and yellow rooms but we ended up in the grey room facing the wall - that was a little sad but due to high expectations of the nice interior and view of the other rooms in advance.

Cozy, quite, minimal and very sweet
The shower is a bit annoying, no stands to put things and smells a bit...but overall great!

The room was clean, very comfortable and pretty quiet. The staff from the restaurant were great about taking my luggage up and down the stairs.
The stairs are very steep and narrow. It is like climbing a ladder. Make sure you hold onto the rail. It’s ok as long as you are prepared for them.
3.5
Good location, spacious room, good view onto market square.
felt very basic for the price paid, there are some issues with the property (cracks in ceiling, things falling off walls). floor also wasn’t clean, white socks are filthy after walking on the floor. tv also lags and stopped connecting to the internet.

The location was perfect and the staff was super friendly. We liked the fact that we could look directly at the market square from our window.
The bed was also very comfortable.
unfortunately, the place was too dark for us. The whole day we needed to have all lights on and still, it was dark in the room. For this reason, we didn't like being inside this place. For sure the rainy, February weather and dark paint on the walls plaid a role in it.

The property is right in the center of the town with lots of different bar and restaurants nearby. The bar/restaurant of the hotel was very nice.
The rooms are old, but kind of renovated. very poor sound isolation and the bedding barely fit the bed. the only window was facing in between 4 walls of other buildings so barely any light. More of a place to stay for 1-2 nights with a back pack and then move on to another place. not for extended stays.

Location, large room, cosy, great outlook view over market square.
1. The difficult stairway access to room with luggage.
2. No free to air TV connection, only could use Netflex and so discriminatory as I did not have an account.
3. Could not open windows

I stayed for 3 nights and was very happy with the room: comfortable bed, great shower, TV, air-conditioning, coffee machine, comp ear-plugs!
A lot of reviews talk about noise but I was in a room at the back (room 2) and wasn't disturbed at all by noise - certainly didn't need the ear-plugs! It's a great location for exploring Haarlem.
The only disappointment was that, after seeing the photo of the room beautifully decorated in green, the decoration in my room was much more ordinary.

Comfy bed. Fridge. Quiet considering in the square. Food in resteraunt really good. Staff lovely.
Photos didnt reflect the room accurately. Fridge in wardrobe. Kettle on small shelf. No views only looking out to walls. Overlooked by other windows. Claustrophobic. Room very basic. Dust on artificial plants. No air conditioning. Stairs very steep - should be a warning as I have arthiritis in both ankles - this made the stairs a nightmare for me.
This room was more like a hostel room.

The Bambu is located on the main (pedestrian) square, this is a traditional Dutch house and the staircase is kind of steep but it is not like it is a ladder either. The room was very clean and the night I stayed there was very quiet. The bathroom and amenities were just fine. And, the best part is the restaurant downstairs. No need to look for another place to eat, it was really excellent. A hearty Dutch breakfast is served in a coffee shop around the corner 50 meters away.

The hostess/owner, Charlotte is fabulous. She was friendly and helpful. The room pictured above was the one we had and I would call it quirky and a lot of effort has gone into the decoration for this fun and unusual room.
The restaurant and food are really really good and we would strongly recommend.
We are both over 75 years old and the stairs to the room are very scarey. we only had hand luggage thankfully.
There is no room service, so we made our own bed each day, etc. and we were given ear plugs but this did not help with the noise from the grote market square at night.

I like the atmosphere and it’s in the heart of the Harlem but you have to know that you can’t find this hotel easily because first of all it’s a bar. So looking for bar bambu

absolutely nothing. it was just terrible. I will actually raise an official complaint as it had nothing to do with the presentation and description on your website.
it was tun by waiters from the bar beneath the room. no service at all. just terrible.

We had a pleasant stay at the Bamboo Hotel.
The room has all comforts and a spectacular view on the Haarlem's main square.
During weekends it's noisy, but using earplugs we slept very well.
I suggest to try the beakfast with the hotel to have a typical Holland experience, but just one time since Haarlem is full of restaurants and it's worth to taste different flavours.
3.5
The location was fantastic, right in the center of Haarlem.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated and made for a comfortable atmosphere.
Tea/coffee was included with refills and there was a mini fridge.
The air conditioning/heating machine was comfortable and made the room feel more fresh.
Comfortable shower with good water pressure.
Kind and helpful staff.
Every time we entered the room, it smelled like sigarette smoke (we don't smoke). We would get used to it quickly, but sometimes a whiff would still hit us. Changing the settings on the air conditioning machine didn't help.
As could be expected from an old house, the building was not very well isolated, so that gave less of a private feel. The room was crooked and the floorboards creaked when walking (however, that is also part of the experience). The minifridge also made a lot of noise.
The water boiler didn't reach the socket so we had to use it on the ground. A few extra extension chords would have been nice, also for charging phones.

Nothing they steal my money
That i have made reservation and it was declined, my card was charged and i had only 10€ return is this ok?

I loved the location, and the charm of the old building. All was great! The only thing that wasn’t good for me was that the mirrors were mounted higher than my eye level, and I’m 162 m tall :)
