Location, atmosphere, half timbered medieval building. We stayed in the dependance, which is far much nicer (furniture and level of renovation) than the main building of the hotel. The hotel offers check-in at 4:00pm and check-out at 12:00pm. Offers a discount in Einstein parking (25CHF) around this time.

The room was very charming, clean and quiet. The location is great. We arrived 9n a Sunday and the checking directions were very precise and easy to follow.

The location is very convenient. The installations are great, renovated old building in the city center. Wonderfull new bath, everything very clean and elegant.

4pm check-in is too late for a weary traveller. If I had taken more notice of this fact prior, I'd have booked somewhere else.
When arriving at 15:40pm felt I was greeted quite rudely by a female receptionist. (we are closed come back at 4pm). By this time I had travelled 14hrs, waited in St.Gallen since 10:30am, and was exhausted.
I also had no phone battery left, could not call in advance and did not know what the time was, which was my question to the receptionist on apologising for arriving twenty minutes early.
It would be great if a reception area, or a waiting area lounge were free for your guests, for check in as well as you do for check out.

it was within the old town, room was a studio and had a great kitchen area.
We were in a separate building, bathroom and shower were small.

Very close to the city center, we were in an apartment and parking was at the building. There was cleaning everyday.
Terrace was was very small and we had to share with doves. We made on- line check in but I feel it had no any advantage, we had to pick up the key at the reception.

The hotel was beautifully appointed, our room, though small, had everything we needed, and breakfasts were excellent. The hotel is right beside the main attractions of the town - cathedral, abbey museum and famous library, and there are good restaurants nearby. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The only thing lacking was a comfortable seating area, such as a lounge or bar area. But we were aware of that, and there were plenty of places nearby which made up for this.

Vadian is a robust and clean family led hotel close to the old part of the city. Well located in a quiet area. Rooms to the backyard are very quiet. Rooms to the front can be noisy at times.

Had a room right right at the fire door and the elevator - no sleep possible, kept awake by guests' moving in and out all night...
Hotel rearranged my booking, afterwards better. For the lost night due to noise I would have expected some form of "sorry" beyond warm words.

The location was perfect, the room was really nice and the price reasonable.

The hotel was in the cloister area where cars are not allowed and where nice buildings are all over. It is a fantastic place with very nice cafeterias. They also had lockers to keep the luggage before check in and after check out, allowing very restful visit of the attractions.

Hi, all great except one strange thing which made me uncomfortable.. I liked how they use phone App to open room doors, BUT, it did not work for some of the doors in the corridor- the hallway. This could be a fire hazard I feel. In an emergency, you do not want to be having issues with doors to escape… this is my point of view.
