Die Lage ist für uns toll. Das Hotel ist schick und entspannt, keine Massenabfertigung. Die Ausstattung ist auf dem zu erwartenden hohen Niveau.

Wir waren zum dritten Mal dort. Der Service halt leider nachgelassen, ist nicht mehr auf dem 5 Sterne Niveau auf dem es mal war. Sauna und Spa sind nur noch kostenfrei, wenn man eine Behandlung bucht. Das war letztes Mal noch anders und ist unüblich für ein 5 Sterne Haus.

Wat een paradijs van rust , zeker de suites aan zee..super mooi ingericht. Personeel doet echt alles maar dan ook alles om naar je zin te maken

Persoonlijk hielden we meer van noordoosten van het eiland maar dit doet geen afbreuk aan het hotel . We hadden auto dus we hebben heel wat rond getoerd. En dan terug aankomen telkens in die oase van rust..zalig

Das Hotel ist gepflegt und sauber und das Personal ist im allgemeinen freundlich. Der Strand ist schön und die Restaurants sind auch gut. Wären bei uns die blöden "Zufälle" mit dem Zimmer nicht gewesen, wären wir sicherlich zufrieden gewesen.

Wir haben die Jade Suite mit Gartenblick gebucht (weil diese moderener ist und sich tatsächlich im neuen Teil des Hotels befindet). Uns wurde bei der Ankunft dann aber ein normales Emerald Retreat Zimmer (das definitiv viel älter als die Jade Suite ist) als Upgrade in eine Suite aufgeschwätzt. Weil wir nicht grün hinter den Ohren sind, bestanden wir darauf das eigentlich gebuchte Zimmer zu erhalten. Dies bekamen wir dann auch, sogar eines mit beschränktem, Meerblick anstelle nur des Gartenblicks. Leider verrechneten sie mir dieses dann beim Check out noch zusätzlich, wobei ich dem Herren sämtliche Buchungsdetails aufgezeigt habe. Zu guter Letzt, nach langer Diskussion bekam ich den zuviel gezahlten Betrag immerhin zurück. Die vom Hotel geschenkte Schokolade, war noch das Tüpfli auf dem i. Wir haben zu Hause bemerkt, dass ein Teil dieses "Geschenkes" fehlt, da hatte wohl jemand hunger;D Ob das dumme Zufälle waren oder ob da sonst was faul war, kann ich nicht sagen, aber für den Preis und das Ambiente finde ich das etwas unprofessionel und irgendwie auch frech.

The whole experience

Beautiful setting. The servers, housekeeping and porters were all great. Good breakfast buffet.

The management is struggling. There was so much miscommunication and confusion. It was constant and negatively impacted the quality of our stay. We couldn’t have our simple but important questions answered (like what meals were included with our suite). Seems like the most basic of questions but literally every manager told us something different. Every day we had different amenities available to us despite buying an upgraded room with the ‘haute living’ package (which is such a sham it’s comical). It was nuts. The facilities also need some work. Lots of little things that on their own are trivial but add up to a less than five star resort.

We had to cancel our reservation due to urgent hospitalisation .

Process of cancellation was a nightmare.Staff demonstrated a complete lack of empathy. Customer service was terrible- had to email and call more than 7 times to get a representative and they NEVER called or emailed back. We fully understand that hotels have a defined cancellation policy but customer care should be significantly better in hotels that want to aspire to a luxury denomination. Cannot comment on their premises but after the way we were treated I will never consider to use their services in the future!

Location is great, the hotel is clean and beautiful, the staff are smiley and helpful.

- The bathroom towels are old/ragged and sometimes have stains despite being cleaned. - We had a sewage smell in our bathroom - This is a Corfuan 5-star hotel, not an international 5-star hotel; it is a matter of expectations. For example, the fine dining restaurant didn't have a sommelier; the music was the same in all the hotel and all the restaurants; based on local interpretation in Greek, you won't always get what's on the room service menu (happened to us). This is minor but a matter of expectation of a 5-star hotel. - Hard to explain the cost paid vs. the above, but then, its August and its Corfu :)

The hotel design is beautiful, the private beach and the pools were amazing, the room was very comfi.

The only thing that was a little bit bothering was the walk from the rooms to the other side of the hotel, where you need to use some elevators and stairs.

Getting slightly outdated

The part of the hotel on the beach. Beautiful, comfortable, a great view on the opposing Epirus coast, crystal clear sea, great bar and restaurant. Though modern it is furnished with taste, and responds to Mediterranean environment and culture. Local art and products are exposed, a massive olive tree is centered in the hall. The beach is beautiful, as the swimming pool. Both the menus served at the Verde Bar and at the 1926 Restaurant were good, we particulartly appreciated the Greek Salad at the Verde Bar. The wine list is quite complete, and we appreciated local wines, even if the pricing was frankly too high. Coming from Italy we do know the price of wines in restaurants ad hotels. The stay on the beach was comfortable and relaxing, we found what we needed. Unfortunately we have had a problem and had to leave before time in urgency. My wife's dad has been hospitalized during our stay and the situation is dire. We were obviously not in the mood to continue our holiday and so decided to cut our stay, leaving on Friday instead of Sunday. The staff helped us to sort things out. The room fulfilled our expectations, even if it was located in the other part of the hotel.

The other part of the hotel beyond the road. Difficult to reach, oversized, empty, a little bit spooky. Two swimming pools, a restaurant, a spa, hardly saw anyone there apart from someone from the staff. Too much nude concrete, too modern and minimalist for a Mediterranean resort, too big, too square, too long and too empty corridors. The same care and taste we appreciated in the part of the hotel on the beach did not seem to be applied to the upper part. At the entrance of the building there was a flow of water on the tar pavement coming from the irrigation system of the flowerbeds. The flow is continuous and mosses or algae proliferate making it slippery, particularly on high heels. The two parts are joined by a tunnel served by two lifts, the recorded voice in the lifts announces "Ground Floor" and "First Floor" or "Doors are Opening" and "Doors are Closing" in Greek and English very loudly. It is pretty evident there are only two levels, it seems a waste of time. It took us time to understand that the room was in the "do not disturb" mode and that we had to press a button to allow the cleaners in. We were not told at the reception. My wife is intolerant to lactose, no lactose free dairy products were available, but most of all the staff didn't seem to know the difference between intolerance to lactose and allergy to gluten.

The original hotel area is fantastic. The breakfast options are extensive.

There is a significant new extension added to the hotel that is across the road and away from the sea which has increased room numbers by >50%. We stayed here and and whilst it is a good fit-out, this fact was not suitably advertised and it is not clear that the hotel is no longer a boutique hotel. The road is a bit of an eyesore. For a five-star hotel the breakfast was a buffet and not waiter service. Given the volume of guests the breakfast dining room was messy at times, although the staff were attentive.

The grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. No matter who you walked past, they always said hello with a smiling face. The welcome gifts were greatly appreciated as was the constant replenishment of cold water when you were by the pool / beach. The breakfast buffet was standout and by far one of the best I have ever had - the service was fantastic and the variety of foods even better. Overall, we had a great stay but there is some room for improvement if I were to be super critical.

If I had to be critical, there were a few things that would have made our stay a bit better. Firstly, it is unclear online (both on booking.com and their website) what the difference is between the Sea View and Beachfront rooms. It was only upon check-out when I asked that I was told the Sea View rooms are at an angle to the beach whereas the Beachfront rooms directly face the beach. Personally, I don't think the price difference warrants it. I would also argue that there are disparities between the pictures and the rooms themselves. We were quite disappointed that we had a balcony with a poor quality table & chairs rather than a terrace with wooden table (as per the pictures). It would be helpful for there to be pictures of the rooms with balconies so that you know exactly what you are paying for. While happy with the cleanliness of the room, we were not given clean glasses and mugs every day even though they were clearly dirty from the day before. We found one day that they had instead washed them in the bathroom sink - given the standard of the hotel, I would expect clean glasses (from a dishwasher) every day, especially when it obvious the old ones had been used. We booked a spa treatment and were looking forward to using some of the other facilities before our treatment. I have been to many spas around the world and have never had to book the use of spa facilities (e.g. hot tub , sauna, etc.) separately and for a cost. This was quite disappointing and something that is certainly out of the ordinary for a hotel of this standard.

Seafront location. Very peaceful. Excellent food and drinks. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Rooms are incredible.
