Breakfast was good.
First room was terrible. I had to go back down to the reception area to complain about my room. I felt like I was in a cellar. The hallway getting to the room was like walking rough a dungeon. No view.

Good location, spacious, clean
No chairs or coffee table in our room (no where to sit down), cleaning knocked on our door at around 7:30 (too early), the telephone rung five times with no one on the other side (twice during the night)

The view from our room was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and we were able to schedule hikes and zip lines same day. We saw some amazing birds on the guided day hike. The zip line view was beautiful.
The rooms were are not sound proofed, so we could hear everything out neighbors were doing. The dinner at the restaurant was not very good. The service was terrible and the food was bland. Breakfast was really good, but really chaotic with all of the tours.

Thé view is great
Atmosphère is terrible and the place is overcrowded. Endless buses coming in and out to pick up tourists, crowded breakfast and swimming pool.
The whole place is non smoking and I had to drive one mile for each cigarette : I wish this non smoking policy for the outside was made clear upon reservation

Good breakfast but should have been included in the room rate, like any other lodge/resort booking in Costa Rica

The room was like a picture in a catalog. The staff members are seen doing various jobs through out the stay. One day the person who checked you in could be your tour guy the next day or even that same night. Our the lady who dropped you off in your room can be throwing you off the Tarzan jump but also check you in for breakfast next morning. Because of this I felt comfortable seeing the same faces throughout my stay. Hospitality is above and beyond. They make everything easy and throughout the stay. From excursions, a ride, reservations, etc. The breakfast is fresh and full of options. I more thing I loved is that an ac wasn’t needed because the room stays so cool from being so high up. I couldn’t get enough of the sound of the nature in the night and the morning. The views were breath taking.
The only things that bothered me was that the door to the balcony was very screechy when trying to open it and since we stayed in the honeymoon suite it was difficult not to wake my partner up early in the morning when I wanted to catch the sunrise.

breakfast and the views
room was very noisy and the wind kept banging the door all night. they have no a/c so the windows must be open to keep the room cool and the noise from the road and wind blowing was loud.
also the bed was the only furniture in the room. they had hanging rope swings but it was like sitting on the floor because they were so low to the ground

This is a clean, beautiful, and comfortable hotel with friendly and attentive staff. We took advantage of the spa and the tennis courts. Also, the view from our room was amazing.
More sidewalks would make the property more walkable.

Laggus restaurant is the worst food I’ve ever eaten and terrible service.

Amazing stay, location, room facilities, VIEWS! Was a wonderful experience. A short 10 mins walk to the main shopping, restaurants area. There are a few right outside the hotel that were excellent too. Within the hotel, the trade off for the views etc was that you will need to use the hotel shuttle to get to anywhere within facility. The shuttle service was very prompt though.. within 3-5 mins, your shuttle will be there. So that was very nice. It is steep climbs to walk yourself around to explore the different amenities within the hotel. Breakfast is EXCELLENT, totally worth buying it when you book. The restaurant within the hotel had amazing food, service, ambience also.
Wifi is spotty initially and then it got better. You do need to use the shuttle to go around the hotel like to the reception area or to breakfast or the restaurants. It arrives promptly though, within 3-5 mins, so that is nice. Everything else was AMAZING.

It had a great view overlooking for the bay. The rooms were very private with a lovely balcony.
It was a long walk to the pool or restaurant, with a VERY steep hill to climb. Need to talk a car or their shuttle bus. The problem is the shuttle bus ran late into the evening to shuttle people up to their rooms and it was noisey going up the hill.

Spacious room with reasonable bed. An OK base for us to use as we explored what Monteverde had to offer.
Whole experience was rather underwhelming. The properties (there are about 9 different blocks of rooms) are on a very steep hill that extends about a kilometre. There is a free shuttle service which you are meant to request 10 minutes before required. We always often found ourselves having to wait 20 mins+ which was frustrating. Breakfast was OK. Rooms were quite dark and felt very empty considering their size.

Views from room
Really poor sound insulation, we could hear people taking showers, phone alarms, talking and doors slamming. Plus really far from reception and very outdated rooms

The location and architecture were astonishing. The rides were quick and everyone was friendly. The trails and pool are great and the views from the balconies breathtaking!
Our room had only one chair inside although we were 3 guests. Similar happened to the coffee and glasses, there were only two. The balcony was also only for two. In general the hotel looks a bit old and is need of renovation specially the reception. The concept of all being so spaced out was at the beginning nice but later on developed in an obstacle to do anything outside the room.
