Great location in town and a convenient walk from the National Rail station. Also, quick walk to bus stops. Beautiful building with beautiful rooms. Spacious and very clean bathroom is appreciated.
Our view was of a car park garage with bright lights on all night that shines through the windows. Hot and stuffy room needed windows opened at night in mid-July for air circulation. The shower sprays water everywhere so be careful when climbing out of the high sides of the tub, you will slip!

Houndgate townhouse is a beautiful property brimming full with fascinating history (well worth researching)
The staff are extremely friendly and the eggs benedict we both plumped for at breakfast was truly excellent.
My only slight quibble would be that the view from our room was very disappointing as it was of the multi storey car park and air conditioning unit but as we were there only for one night it made no difference.

Location is fab, parking right behind hotel and then just a short walk to bars and restaurants. Room was a lovely size and absolutely beautiful. Also very clean. Staff were also lovely.

Room at front of building a lot of noise through the night. Only hotel I have ever stayed at with ear plugs left out - suggest windows need replacing. No parking at hotel but multi-storey behind the hotel which is free 6pm-8am

Fantastic breakfasts - perfectly cooked and fresh to order with a great selection. Friendly service - everyone was warm, helpful and efficient. Comfortable room - beautifully decorated and cosy.
Continental breakfast was a little sparse - could do with some pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt. Radiator was off in the bedroom so freezing when we arrived - maybe turn on low when guests are expected.

Truly, a beautiful Edwardian building that has kept it’s heritage. from the moment you walk in you are quickly transported away from the hustle and bustle to a beautiful staircase. the room we had was so cosy and clean. The staff were accommodating to our every need even supporting us with an early check in due to needing to attend a local wedding. The staff were all super polite and friendly even to the point where the cleaner saw us on our way to the wedding and told us how good we looked. Just a truly pleasant experience, one we wished we could’ve stayed an extra day. the breakfast is top notch too.
I have no complaints at all. my only tiny bug bear was that there wasn’t (as far as I could see) a short information guide in the room. I think as a suggestion, it may be worth creating a small card with important information on for each room that contains the WiFi code and important telephone numbers etc. just for reference for guests. other than that, superb hotel.

Location was brilliant, 2 minute walk to the centre and 2 minutes from the car park. Room was ready and key left in the door. Room was small which we knew before hand but had everything in including iron and board. Excellent designed room and en suite. Breakfast was amazing. Eggs royal with perfect poached eggs.

We had the accessible room which has great views and space but I prefer not to have an accessible bathroom. Wasn't a massive issue though as it is still beautifully decorated!
