The owner and all the staff is very very nice, kind and smiling. The food is delicious, with a large selection :) The bedrooms are very large and comfortable, as the bathrooms. The pool is beautiful and we can see the sea on the balcony from the room :) We had a great stay here so we recommend it !!

Our stay at Karl Holiday Bungalows was fabulous! We stayed in a lovely room with a balcony, from where we could see the sun setting each evening. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room spotlessly clean, a/c works really well. There are individual fridges for each of the guest rooms, kitchen facilities and a washing machine (500 rupees). Dill, the owner, assisted us with scooter rental at a very reasonable cost, also a Tuk Tuk 🛺 ride to our next destination. Loved everything about this place. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We used this very nice and cosy little hotel during three weeks as a 'base camp' for trips around the island. We were more than satisfied with everything. Staff is very friendly and nice and made us feel very welcome. The pool is clean and the garden is very beautiful and well maintained with flowers and decorations. Furnitures in the patio areas where you can sit outside and chill. The food they serve is also very tasty — we really liked the Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner specialities. Our room was big and spacious wirh good storage facilities for clothes and personal belongings. To have a fridge of your own and access to a kitchen is a big advantage!

There is unfortunately quite a lot of garbage on the closest beach in front of the hotel. Big waves make it difficult to swim. The AC in our room was a bit noisy and the roof fan had only one (high!) speed.

We really loved the stay at Karl Bungalow. The guy is super friendly and very welcoming and helpful. It's a family atmosphere there. The breakfast was really good and the accommodation, especially the pool was perfect. To the road with the restaurants and shops its about 15mins walk along the beach. We were even invited to a little party with cake to Karls birthday, that was really nice. We were traveling with 3 small kids and the people were very much welcoming the kids, which was very nice. There is even a kitchen that you can use for cooking and each room has its own fridge.

This is a great place to stay just outside Colombo. The room was super clean and very nicely decorated. We loved the pool and had an excellent dinner too. Mr. Dill, the manager, and his staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Highly recommended!

The bungalow complex is excellent its a little piece of paradise in paradise the garden and plants are extremely looked after, a quiet little retreat with a fantastic pool which is cleaned every day. The bungalow complex is extremely clean the Two grounds people work extremely hard to keep the whole area very clean and tidy. The food is amazing, freshly cooked to order and so, so very cheap. I would recommend you visit this lovely holiday complex if you are looking for a quiet retreat to relax in with excellent staff service from everyone.

There was nothing to dislike

Karls bungalow was a perfect stop between the ayurvedic villa and onward travel. Great situation for buses and train station. Enclosed garden with pool was very nice but also option to step outside and onto the kalutara beach. Not a place to sunbathe, but lovely to cool off and watch sunset.

The fan in my room only had two speed. Either very very rocket fast or too slow. The speeds in between did not work. But the room had air-conditioning.
