The property is absolutely beautiful! Being there in person, and seeing the pictures, you just cannot compare the two! The ladies were fantastic, delicious meals every time they cooked! When we had questions on how a meal was prepared, they were happy to indulge their secrets! Piggy was fast at fixing a burned out bulb, and keeping the pool and sundeck immaculate, and was a great communicator! Malcom, went above and beyond! If we needed a ride, he was happy to take us at a moments notice! He loves to talk with the guests, and get to know where they are from, and the cultures differences. My husband and I came back happy knowing we have a friend in Jamaica! The Pups!!!! They were a great addition to the property! We left our fur-babies back home, and they helped missing them easier. They were always by our sides! When we visit Jamaica again, we will definitely be staying here!!!!

We spent a wonderful week with our family of 8 at Rainbow Tree Villa on Treasure Beach. The home is effortlessly chic and beautifully appointed [the owner has thought of everything] but has a decidedly relaxed and welcoming vibe. The property is perched just above Treasure Beach offering breathtaking views of the ocean and heart-stopping sunsets during cocktail hour. We spent our days enjoying walks on the beach, swimming, exploring tidal pools, and lazing around the villa's beautiful pool. But hands down the most remarkable thing about Rainbow Tree is its exceptional staff. Warm, gracious, kind, and discreet, they did a magnificent job feeding us and looking after us. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Rainbow Tree Villa! The staff was very attentive and to have access to a private pool AND beach is priceless. We plan to book this venue in the future and have shared our experience with family and friends. Thumbs up to the hosts!!!

Treasure in Treasure Beach
We were a group of two families with 10 people and kids ranging from 2 to 15. The location was secluded, quiet, and excellent. The property was beautiful. The food was phenomenal. The staff and the host made everything easy and relaxing. If it wasn't so far away I think we would be back constantly!

Excellent location within a great community. Great house and great staff.
Excellent villa with a great staff good sized pool and beautiful beach access. The local community also turned out to be a great part of our trip. The bikes for use on the property made it easy to explore and take in all the area has to offer. We plan to return again.

Absolutely wonderful
Beautiful house on a perfect setting - we loved sitting on the veranda eating delicious food prepared by the wonderful Miss Laura and Miss Jenny, laying in the hammock, and swimming in the perfect, crystal clear pool, while gazing at the crescent beach. Miss Laura, Miss Jenny, Aman, and the rest of the staff were all friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience - and took care of everything when we had a health issue and had to go to a doctor. The house is stocked with great games to play in the evening. And seriously, the food was fantastic. We will definitely be back.

No rain at rainbow, 90 every day
wonderful staff, great food, nice property. too windy to swim the week we were there, but the beach was great and almost deserted, and , of course, we could use the pool rather than the ocean. A long van ride away from everything, but very relaxing.

Relaxing and Laid Back!
We haven’t even left the property yet and I wanted to write a review. This was the vacation of our dreams! Rest, relaxation and we did NOTHING! The staff here is amazing and bends over backwards to make sure you enjoy you stay. We would get up, go for a walk on the beach (only saw one other couple in the am), breakfast was served on the covered patio, we would read for an couple hours, head for the pool, eat lunch, take a nap, head to the pool, and then read some more until dinner - which by the way was amazing EVERY night! Except to go reef fishing in front of the property we never left and never saw anyone except the staff and massage therapist who came out to the house. The perfect vacation for my husband and I to reconnect after a crazy busy year. Thank You Peter and Team for a great vacation. A couple tips: Bring cash - no ATM close to here. Bring Wondercide (a natural bug spray is great - can buy online) lots of little gnat like bugs at night. Don’t over pack - you don’t need much. Book a massage or two with Joshua (Peter can hook you up) - he is amazing!

Secluded retreat with breathtaking views!
We visited Rainbow Tree for the sixth time and will keep going back. We love relaxing by the pool and hanging out in the hammock hanging from an almond tree overlooking the ocean. The beach is pristine and very private. On several occasions, we were the only people there and we never saw more that three other tourists. So peaceful! A world away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Staff, Miss Jenny and Miss Laura, are so warm and friendly. And they prepare authentic Jamaican meals using locally sourced ingredients. Much of the fruit came from the property! Go once and you too will be hooked!

Repeat Visitor Always Amazed
As far as the eye can see
there are no clouds
The pale blue sky gives testimony
to the sparkling sea stretched beyond
I lie under the grape tree
mesmerized by the sound and sight of the waves
Listening to the sway of the grape tree leaves
I am a returning guest who enjoyed the restful solitude and withdrawal from the intensity and demand of urban American life. On previous visits, I have taken boat trips exploring Black River, eaten fried fish at Floyd's in Billy's Bay and dined at local restaurants across the road. On this visit I immersed myself the joy of doing "nothing". I was nourished in body and soul by the people and the place. I was greeted, fed and cared for by the staff who have been at Rainbow Tree for 25 years. They are the Treasure.

Absolute paradise for a perfect quiet getaway!
Rainbow Tree is spot of heaven way off the tourist-beaten path in a little fishing village with the kindest people you've ever met! You're surrounding by the stunning beauty of nature, delicious meals, and the thoughtful care of a top-notch staff who have been there since it was built over 15 years ago.
It's perfect for a group of 6-8 looking for a quiet, peaceful, and truly lovely getaway. We love rising with the sun with delicious coffee on the veranda and enjoying the gorgeous light on the ocean. After three amazing meals, walking the beach, lots of poolside chatting and reading, and perhaps an excursion somewhere, we're falling asleep to the sound of the waves by 9 pm! Laura, Jenny, Calvin, and Aman make the experience incredibly special and love knowing you appreciate their efforts. Don't hesitate to visit with them!
Peter and Karen Kennedy, the owners, are the BEST! They're high-integrity people who have taken great care in creating a place that people want to visit time and again. It is their home away from home, and it's obvious they have a lot of love for the property, community, and most especially its people. Once you book they provide a comprehensive and very helpful guide of instructions and guidance for your Jamaica visit that most villa owners would never take the time to compile for their guests!
I've been to Rainbow Tree 3 times and intend go to back!

Superior in Every Way
Our vacation at Rainbow Tree Villa was the best vacation we've ever had. We experienced the "real” Jamaica in real style.
Aman, the Rainbow Tree driver, picked us up at the airport and from that moment until he dropped us off two weeks later, we felt like the most important people in the world.
On the way to RT, Aman took us shopping to get what we needed at all the right places. He knows everyone everywhere you go and is a wealth of knowledge about every square inch of his native country.
Upon stepping out of the van at Rainbow Tree, we were greeted not only by a riot of color from the bougainvillea flowers, but the extraordinary staff — who has been taking care of RT guests for many years. We had fabulous and authentic Jamaican meals, hors d’oevres and cocktails prepared by the wonderful Laura and Jenny. (They also make killer grilled cheese sandwiches and homemade potato chips!). With the utmost discretion and proficiency, they made sure every corner of the villa was sparkling clean, that beds were made every morning, ice cold lemonade was available on the veranda during the day and bedside water pitchers and glasses were filled at night. Laura and Jenny, having grown up in Treasure Beach, embody that warm, gentle and relaxed Jamaican hospitality. They are so friendly and sweet and truly care about you and want your vacation to be perfect.
The house has large and breezy rooms with handsome decor and a photo gallery you will peruse over and again of the beautiful Jamaican people and landscapes. The doors open to the expansive veranda with spectacular views of the Caribbean. You can spend your day there, poolside under the gracious palm umbrellas or on the beach a few steps away. All the while, Laura, Jenny and the rest of the staff are behind the scenes making delicious food and planning for your comfort.
Aman has his own boat and took us on a wonderful boat ride to Floyds Pelican Bar and exploring up the Black River. He knows the best swimming spots and on the way back stopped at a local, riverside eatery for grilled crab. It was a great day. He will take you anywhere you want to go while you are staying there.
You will fall in love with Rainbow Tree and the staff there. We can't wait to go back and would not consider staying anywhere else!

Perfect Vacation
We spent a magical week at Rainbow Tree with our friends. The property is expansive and perfect for a relaxing vacation. The staff provided excellent meals and keep the house and grounds clean and groomed. Laura, Jenny and Calvin kept us well fed and cared for our every need. Aman is an excellent guide whether to/from the airport or taking us up the Black River. Shane is a first mate extraordinaire. The south shore is relaxing and Rainbow Tree is an extraordinary retreat. I cannot wait to return.

Much needed relaxing vacation
The real treasures of this Treasure Beach property are both the Owners and the staff. We had to make quick changes to a vacation we were scheduled to take to the Bahamas because of Hurricane Matthew. The owners of Rainbow Tree were so accommodating and nice-- they really put me at ease. The staff once we arrived was also outstanding. All our meals were delicious and fresh. The villa is large and well maintained. It is kept nice and clean by the staff. The children had a great time in the pool and the ocean. The grown ups relaxed on the beautiful veranda. WE took a wonderful trip to the Black River with Aman and his son Shane. This is a real must do! We saw the crocs had lunch at a great spot called Sister Lou's. It really was a perfect day. The vibe of this area of Jamaica is very laid back and peaceful. If you are looking to spend a day in the more touristy areas of Negril Aman will drive you there. I really recommend this part of Jamaica for leaving the hustle and bustle behind and spending a great time with your family and friends in a beautiful location. Rainbow Tree is a perfect spot to really get to know Jamaica and the wonderful people who call it home. Thank you Miss Laura, Aman, Miss Jenny, Miss Medita, Calvin, Shane, and Jason for treating us with the greatest hospitality and turning our vacation into an outstanding experience.

A Wonderful Place to Relax and Unwind
We just returned from an 11-day stay at Rainbow Tree Villa where we had a wonderful and very relaxing vacation. The tone for our stay was set by our exuberant welcome from Aman who drove us to the villa. He was very accommodating in allowing us to stop at a grocery store to pick up some last minute items and at a Jerk Center for lunch. He entertained us on the drive with a variety of music. When we arrived, Miss Laura and Miss Jenny were waiting for us to orient us to the house. They are the two of the nicest, sweetest, and most amiable individuals you will meet. During our week, they prepared wonderful meals that we ate on the verandah with a fantastic view of waves breaking over the coral reef. Miss Laura and Miss Jenny listened to any requests we made with respect to our menus. They cleaned the house regularly so it remained orderly throughout our stay. Our vacation was primarily for rest and relaxation and we spent most of our days floating in the pool and swimming at the beach. Miss Laura and Miss Jenny gave us good advice of where to swim to avoid any undercurrents associated with the waves rolling over the reef. We did, however, take a few excursions to Floyd’s Pelican Bar via an energetic boat ride (driven by Aman and accompanied by his friendly son Shane) and to YS Falls where some of us enjoyed the natural spring pools and the rest participated in more adventurous activities such as climbing the falls and zip lining. At the end of our vacation, we were all teary-eyed in saying good-bye to Miss Jenny and Miss Laura. Peter, the owner, was very responsive to our initial rental inquiry and subsequent questions. We highly recommend Rainbow Tree Villa. The villa is spacious, comfortable, and beautifully situated on the sea. Most importantly, it is staffed by a wonderful group of friendly and caring staff. We give this villa our highest recommendation and hope to return next year. We also strongly recommend Club Mobay at Montego Bay Airport. It’s a concierge service to expedite arrival procedures – including a personal escort through immigration and customs. We were very tired after traveling from California and by-passed long lines of passengers in a very warm airport. We then enjoyed a few complimentary rum punches while our escorts let Aman know that we arrived. We have never had an easier and more efficient arrival at a Caribbean airport!

Best Vacation Ever!!!
We were three couples. We travel to different islands and homes every year, but this is by far our best vacation. I have been traveling to Jamaica for over 30 years and this was first to South Coast. Peter is fantastic with the planning and communicates promptly. No problems there at all. We were picked up at the airport and the drive to the south coast was beautiful. We arrange and stopped at the Mega Mart to pick up extras that we like for snacks......not necessary. We could have skipped the store because everything we needed was already purchased and waiting for us at the house.
Once we arrived, the home was immaculate and more than enough room for three couples. We all had suites and there were still two bedrooms left. The grounds are beautiful. The staff felt like family from the time we arrived. Ms Jenny and Ms Laurel went above any expectation we could have imagined. We were treated like royalty. Calvin kept the grounds clean and pool always ready for a swim. The driver, Aman was excellent and he also has a fishing boat that carried us to Pelican Bar....a must see. He also took us sightseeing and to the Rum factory.
The food, OMG, was to die for. Each morning we had fresh squeezed OJ and Jamaican coffee. We has so much food at each setting , we all left there with 5 extra pounds, but it was worth it. One couple did not eat pork/red meat so we had several varieties at each meal. The seafood was excellent; lobster and red snapper was huge in size. I can't say enough how great the food and cooks were.
We walked the village everyday and the locals were so friendly and helpful. We always felt safe. It's like back in the 50's and 60's when everyone in the neighborhood looked out for one another. I wanted to move there. My husband and I did look at property while there. This place is amazing overlooking the ocean and just steps from the beach.
We were so sad to leave and everyone in the group wished we had stayed longer. I know we will return because I know we have found paradise and a new home!!!!

Amazing House
This a truly great place to go on a family holiday. We were two families with kids between 6 and 9. The house is huge, the pool is lovely, the beach is a few paces away. Very quiet area, but the community is very friendly and welcoming.
All our food was deliciously prepared by Laura & Jenny and they kept the house very clean. Aman did the airport run and took us on great trips to YS Falls, Appleton Rum Factory, Black River, Floyds Pelican Bar and Sunny Isle.
Whole heartedly recommend if you want a get away from everything holiday but still want good internet, relaxing environment, things to do and everything taken care of!

Lovely Getaway
I rented this for myself and 9 students for a one week workshop. I can't say enough good things about the villa and the staff. The house is beautiful, just like the photos. Plus there's a personal touch with pictures all over the place of people the owners have interacted with through the years. It was so relaxing to have our meals taken care of by such expert cooks. Everything was always clean. The pool was lovely, the weather gorgeous. Lots of deck chairs for a crowd. The villa is away from town, very quiet - a true escape.

This Truly Is Paradise!
We have vacationed several times at Rainbow Tree since it was initially built more than 20 years ago, and it truly keeps getting better. This last trip in January 2016 was the best yet!
Our ride from the airport with Aman is always a treat. He’s a good man and a good friend, so the fun conversation always makes the trip go quickly. He’s your go to guy for all things transportation – by car or boat.
The house staff, Laura and Jenny are incredible – welcoming, thoughtful, and certainly the best cooks in Treasure Beach. As a vegan, I was initially concerned that my choices would be limited. Laura and Jenny are accustomed to cooking for guests with a wide variety of dietary concerns, so they weren’t fazed at all. I loved the variety of local dishes they prepared day after day. The non-vegans in our party enjoyed lobster, curried goat, fish, jerked chicken and other traditional Jamaican dishes.
When our children were young, they loved playing in the ocean, in the pool, with lots of local children (braiding hair, playing soccer), and with Calvin’s dog. As they got older, they enjoyed excursions such as going up the Black River by boat, to the Pelican Bar (again by boat), and to YS Falls. Since they are now grown, we took this trip without them for the first time, and it was the most relaxing vacation we’d ever taken. Truly rejuvenating.
The beach directly in front of the property is the best in all of Treasure Beach with the added benefit that it is often deserted. The pool on the property is extremely private as well. We strongly recommend that you spend some quality time in the hammock that hangs from an almond tree (yes, really) overlooking the ocean. Even with a large party, there is enough room for everyone to find a private spot when they want to unwind.
We felt very safe walking daily along the local roads in either direction from Rainbow Tree. All of the locals made us feel very welcome. This is nothing like the more touristy parts of Jamaica, like Montego Bay, where someone is always trying to sell you something. Everyone in Treasure Beach is laid back and respectful.
We had excellent WIFI connectivity there as well. So, if you need to stay in touch with the real world you can certainly do so.
We always feel like part of the family when we’re at Rainbow Tree. There’s a reason why this villa has so many repeat guests.

Our Favorite Vacation!
We have visited Rainbow Tree Villa every other year for the last decade. Our first trip was with a group of friends, but we brought our kids and parents for our second visit. Over the years, we have vacationed with couples and families, all with great success. Rainbow Tree has something for everyone.
From the time Aman picks you up at the MoBay airport, you know that this is no ordinary vacation. The route through the mountains is the real Jamaica, most of it still primitive and unspoiled. (Stop at Border Jerk for some jerk pork or chicken)! When you reach Rainbow Tree, you will be greeted by the world’s nicest people who will make you feel right at home. When you wander through the villa and walk out onto the back veranda, you will be stunned by the view of the ocean over the bluff and the natural beauty of the area. This is truly getting away from it all -- your biggest decision will be whether to swim in your private pool or take the steps down to the private beach cove. This is not a resort area, but rather a fishing village. There are trips available, all of which are great depending on your interests, but don’t miss a trip up the Black River and a stop at Floyd’s Pelican Bar.
To really enjoy your visit, take a walk through the village and visit the local convenience store, or down the beach to watch the fishermen bring in their catch - always an amazing sight - and you will quickly realize that the people of Treasure Beach are friendly and you are safe in this little corner of the world. Attend a service at the local church. Pull up a stool and enjoy the company of Miss Laura and Miss Jenny while they concoct something amazing in the kitchen or the smokehouse. Ask Calvin if the weather is right for a bonfire on the beach, or maybe for a game of dominoes. The people of Treasure Beach are the real “treasure”.
Over a decade of visits, our children have grown up and gotten to know the children in the village, and for them a visit to Rainbow Tree is a visit to see their family. They are often asked to join in a game of soccer or watch the local teams play. The adults know them by name and watch out for them. This is their favorite vacation by far -- they have turned down other trips over the years (including Disney World!) in order to visit their home away from home. When the weather turns cold and dreary, or one of us is having a bad day, we will often say “I wish we were at Rainbow Tree right now!” It is truly that special.

A Jamaican Balm for the Soul
Back in 1974-76 I taught school in Jamaica for two years, living near Savannah La Mar with my three kids. Many times I have been back, but my most recent trip was truly memorable. My husband and I had grown tired of the noise, too many tourists, and hustle of the North Coast, so we decided to try the South Coast this time because we know it's still unspoiled. We searched the internet and loved seeing the pictures and reviews of Rainbow Tree, so we booked there.
We were not disappointed! It's an incredibly beautiful spot, well-maintained, and looks oh so Caribbean, sitting on a bluff above the sea. We were greeted by Laura and Jenny who had prepared a very tasty group of appetizers and drinks for us to enjoy, which we did on the back veranda. Somehow we timed our arrival to just before sundown, so we relaxed with our drinks, watching a picture-perfect sunset, the colors varied from pink to orange to purple, as the sun slipped into the sea. I knew then that our vacation would be filled with good people, good food, nature, and relaxation. Ahhhhh...
Each morning we walked up the nearly deserted beach to the fishing village, where brightly-painted boats were pulled up on the beach. If you see anyone, tourist or local, the person will greet you with a smile, but won't intrude on your experience. What a contrast to the hustle of the crowded beaches of the North Coast!
Both Laura and Jenny have worked with the owners of Rainbow Tree for many, many years, Laura since it was built 23 years ago—and Jenny for a dozen. What a great tribute to the owners that their staff does not want to leave! What a great tribute to Laura and Jenny, that the owners are happy with them, too! With so many years of experienced staff, you can imagine how smoothly and calmly the place runs.
Aman, Laura's husband, is available for transport if you don't have a car. He drove us all the way over to Grange Hill, several hours away, so I could visit my old school. It was so gratifying to be greeted with smiles from several on staff who had been there those many years ago when I taught there. I couldn't stop crying, especially when I reunited with two of my students who teach there now. That's Jamaica, full of beautiful people and beautiful places, all glowing beneath the Caribbean sun. Try Rainbow Tree---the staff is dedicated to making your stay wonderful, the sea is there to salve your soul, and you will come back contented and refreshed.

Treasure Beach-Yea Mon!
We recently visited Rainbow Tree Villa with a group of friends Jan. 2015 and truly loved it. Treasure Beach is a fabulous community of friendly people with very little tourists. The staff couldn't have been better. Jenny and Laura were great cooks and Calvin took care of the grounds and pool so well. Aman, also the taxi driver to and
from the airport, took us in his boat one day to Black River plus Pelican Bar. What a treat to meet Floyd, the owner of Pelican Bar, where we enjoy a delicious fish lunch and drinks. The last night of our trip we went across street to a restaurant and Chris, the owner and chef, fixed us an inexpensive dinner of lionfish and lobster.
Our stay at Rainbow Tree Villa was very relaxing and memorable and we are looking to return. I would recommend that everyone should visit Treasure Beach and stay at the Rainbow Tree Villa.

Amazing!
One of the best places you will ever stay. My wife and I and two other couples were planning on going to Cabo until a hurricane hit and our rooms were unavailable 4 weeks before we were scheduled to leave. Luckily, the Rainbow Tree was available. Peter was a great help describing the property and what we could expect. Treasure beach is a wonderful village with little to no tourism. Everyone in the community was extremely friendly and welcoming and we at no time felt uncomfortable to be out alone. Miss Jenni and Miss Laura were amazing and excellent cooks. Aman met us at the airport and drove us to the villa and made us feel comfortable right off of the plane. We decided to go out to eat one night and he dropped us off and picked us up at a local restaurant down the beach and also drove us to the waterfalls for a day trip. The beach that the villa is located on is safe and would be perfect for children. There is a reef that protects the swimming area that has a perfect sand bottom. You can snorkel right in front of the villa. Highly recommend staying at the Rainbow Tree.

Private Paradise
My wife, son (8) and daughter (5) enjoyed this location, villa, and staff for a week. Our every need was taken care of proactively - including sewing and minor repair to damaged luggage, and attention to my daughter's allergies (dairy, fish, nuts, eggs) with absolutely no issues. The food was fresh and fantastic (kids loved the breakfasts, adults loved it all).
Recommend the local trips (Pelican Bar, Black River, Appleton Rum, etc.) and exploring and interacting with the locals. Even with young kids we felt safe the whole time as the staff and even owners of this property are part of the local fabric and have been for decades.
We recommend this paradise to our friends and would love to come back.
