Staff were super helpful, breakfast was great. Views and stunning, very quiet and chilled atmosphere, perfect for a late night swim/jacuzzi session.
If you’re not keen on walking up an down hills then this might not be the best choice as there are a couple of restaurants near but mostly they’re in the town at the bottom of the hill.

Good location, friendly staff, good breakfast, nice pool
Unable to contact staff out of hours
Breakfast quite repetitive
Hot tub had quite a lot of debris in it

Room was spacious and clean; nice balcony overview the sea, Kitchen properly equipped.
Pool was clean with a fantastic view. Fresh and delicious Breakfast served in the garden, facing the pool and the seaview.
Very friendly and professional staff. Safe parking inside the garden, but also very convenient for travellers using public transportation.
Sometimes you can hear local traffic and barking dogs.

Great individual service, breakfast was healthy and diverse. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and had an amazing view.
The street to the hotel is steep and narrow, by foot is a bit troublesome to reach nearby markets or restaurants.

They property itself was on the hill, which had a spectacular view. We had a pool and a jacuzzi. The hotel has its own banana trees so they served us with their bananas. Breakfast was amazing lots of varieties you can choose.
I was really impressed by the room which we had a sea view. We could see the rest of the city and the ocean. We had our honeymoon here in Madeira. They kindly prepared us a bottle of wine and some chocolates with a sweet greeting card so thanks for organizing it.
The actual hotel has its own style, very unique and vintage.
Only things we did not like is the narrow road down to the hotel, from the Main Street around 200 m, which you need to be careful with your car
And the rooms are a bit smaller but we liked the rooms which had a big bathroom.

A gorgeous little hotel with a ton of character. The history of the family told to us by the charming Diogo added to the experience. The view was gorgeous, the artwork beautifully curated, the breakfast was fantastic and visiting the chickens, goats and the sweetest cat all added to a lovely experience.

location was 10 min drive from Funchal and very central , despite tiny street to access the parking lot can be a bit scary at first but like most streets in the island - Absolutely fabulous breakfast and swimming pool is so enjoyable after a long day of walk and visits , staff is very friendly and available . Access to the room and property with a code so no physical card :)
when we arrived and checked in , we were then taken to our room and the reception staff did not help with the luggage in the stairs . The least would be to ask if we needed some help.

Superb breakfast, wonderfully helpful staff. Excellent contact from Diogo prior to our stay to ensure everything was in order prior to our arrival. Airport transfer and hire car efficiently arranged and not excessively priced. Parking available (recommend small car) including electric charging point. Room immaculately presented with good quality toiletries in the bathroom. Good air conditioning. We were on the top floor with large balcony overlooking Camara do Lobos. There are a variety of rooms, some have a mezzanine balcony, some were ground floor with an outside seating area.
Gardens and swimming pool well kept - saw pool being cleaned during our stay and staff working hard to maintain high standards. Worth a wander under the vines and bananas, around the garden to see the goats and chickens and views. Honesty bar and social area in which to spend time.
Is walking distance to Camara do Lobos, about 25 minutes down steep hill, recommend bus or taxi back - staff have all information on public transport. Bus stop is a little up the hill past the property so need to walk back down, less than ten minutes, but steep. We walked up to O Lagar restaurant above the property, took about 15 minutes on road, no pavements - had a lovely meal of traditional espetada.
Not in the control of the property but there are very few shops and restaurants nearby so you need to be organised regards needing to bring anything back, like drinking water, which is recommended by the property. No fridge in the room but you can borrow glasses, plates and cutlery in the social area if you bring food back.
Others have already mentioned it but if you hire a car, which is a very good idea here, be prepared for the narrow, steep drive. Get something small but with enough power to get up hills!

Quinta Is a small quiet hotel with a beautiful view and garden. The stuff was very friendly and polite. The breakfast was very tasty. We had eggs from their chicken. The rooms were very clean. Everyday we had fresh towels.
The room was small and if someone had a car the parking was very difficult.

The place itself is beautiful and charming. The pool was very nice, the view from it is amazing, especially to enjoy the sunset. The breakfast was very filling and tasty, it is nice that you get to eat outside.
We happened to have a problem with our room which really upset us. I made a reservation in this hotel specially for a certain room, which was the one I paid for. Before arriving, I was looking at my reservation frequently making sure that everything was alright and being excited about it. However, when we arrived, the host gave us a different room, very small, without saying anything about it. I checked my reservation on Booking right away and saw that they had changed the assigned room that very same day. Naturally I asked for explanations, but all I was told was that it was probably a mistake from their system and that they're sorry. I get there was nothing they could do about it anymore, but for the money I had payed, this is a mistake that shouldn't happen.

Very clean and quite spacious room, with comfortable bed and nice balcony with a view. Air conditioning was quiet and working well. The staff is really friendly and helpfull, they even rented a car for us. Breakfast was delicious. The pool is great, and there is plenty of space around it to lay and relax. And you can eat the bananas and grapes from the garden! It is quite far from the town, around 15-20 minutes walk down the hill, we never tried to walk back to hotel, as its all the way up, but you can easily get a taxi for 5-7euro.

The estate is beautiful and sitting by the pool really offers a sense of calm and relaxation. It's well located with good access to restaurants and bars, although we recommend having a car to move around.
The staff is amazing and always eager to help. Special thanks to Diogo, who made sure we had the best time possible.
Highly recommended and we will definitely return!
Access to the parking is a bit narrow but not as bad as other reviews make it out to be.

On the check-in day, all the windows of the room were open. Since there was a nauseating odour, we thought the maid had left them open to let the air flow in so the smell would go away. Our surprise when we came back from dinner, not only the sickening odour was even more intense, but we found a huge cockroach!!! We then made sure that the windows were well closed for the next day, but unfortunately, the smell had increased, the smell was unbearable, that of a roten dead body. When we came back, again two big cockroaches. That was absolutely disgusting. As I reported, I couldn't sleep in the whole night. The receptionist called the manager to tell her about our complaint, and she told me that you did not have available rooms when I said I would not sleep there another night, even when we saw that you had several check-outs in the morning. She told me that the maids would clean thoroughly and change the linen and towels, but again, unfortunately, when we arrived in the evening, the smell was still there. On top of that, we found three huge cockroaches and this time, also a big spider behind my suitcase. Of course, I did not sleep there.

Lovely boutique hotel - transport required as very steep location and reliance on taxis would be expensive.
We did not have our own transport so felt stranded. Was not made aware of difficulty to find and reach location on foot or Taxi only.

Incredible View of the surrounding city and ocean, breakfast each morning at 8:30 was BEYOND incredible. staff were extremely friendly and helpful, each morning and evening had such a luxurious feel to it, with the glowing pool in the evening to the sun peaking over the mountains in the morning just an incredible all round place to stay!
honestly this place would have been a solid 10/10 for me if it weren’t for the 60€ charge for laundry.
that’s about 80$ Canadian, you know what you can buy with 80$ Canadian, another hotel, a car rental for the day, a nice dinner for you and your partner. but to wash one load of laundry…. that’s wild. It is what it is though.
loved the stay

I did only like the size of the room and the swimming pool
When I arrived to the room the door locker was broken and there were several holes in the door. Apparently it was broken and they couldn’t replace it with the same locker before my stay. Saying that, it was possible to lock the door. On top of that, before my arrival someone had left the window open and the room was full of mosquitos and other different insects. Moreover, there was a terrible smell in the toilet (there is an issue with the pipes). The breakfast was poor. Overall not value for the cost of the night. Nobody from the hotel asked me for the stay

An elegant, old, but beautifully redone building at a quiet location with a great view, good breakfast, and comfortable bed.
The steep, little street of about 200 m is extremely narrow, it was very scary to drive down to the hotel, so most days we decide to park on the main street above.
Breakfast is delicious, but it is served only from 8:30, and service is leisurely, so one is forced to waste a lot of time here while waiting for breakdófast. Breakfast to go is much lesser value and quantity than the breakfast one gets eating in the hotel.
The rooms are tiny. Because of that, it is understandable that there is no space for a fridge in here, but there could be one in the common area.
Some staff member seems to be very undertrained.
I could not pay with the bank card I wanted, but the card I gave to booking.com as guarantee was charged without my consent on knowledge.
The jacuzzi hardly works and the qater is too cold in it.

Breakfast was great, friendly staff, 10min. car ride to Funchal
Really wished they had a mini fridge in the rooms so we could store beverages! Other than that there’s not much to complain about

Magnificent view, very comfortable bed, nice pool area.
The breakfast was also very good, and it was served outside, so we ate with the great view of the ocean and the hills.
Very clean, with all you need for a good stay: fresh towels, towels for using by the pool, toiletries, daily cleaning.
They were kind and prepared a take-away breakfast for the last day, as we left before the breakfast was served.
They also went to buy a brand new first aid kit so I could take care of an injury.
The room was a little too small for when handling the luggage, taking out the clothes. Also, the dresser for the clothes could be improved by a few shelves.

clean, great view, good breakfast, friendly staff
just a point to be aware or - parking is difficult- one would need to to through a very steep and narrow street. Not for inexperienced drivers. gets better after you do it a couple of times:)))
