We would stay again

Our family of 9 really enjoyed staying at Grandview Getaway. The house was spacious and clean, the view of the lake was beautiful. We saw deer and eagles every day. We spent time fishing and kayaking. The location was ideal for visiting shops and restaurants in Eagle River and Minocqua too. Our communication with Jeffrey was easy, and we had no issues during our weeklong visit. We would highly recommend this place if you enjoy coming “up north.”

I was a bit surprised by the number of cottages close to us, but it did not present a problem. Sleeping arrangements were ideal and a bathroom at each level—-fantastic! Although we did not use them, a grill and kayaks were nice amenities.

Loved the house, location, area and communication was great! Used the kayaks, which was very nice to have. Everything was very nice and the setup was nice for family staying. Everyone had their own level to stay and plenty with the bathrooms on every level, tha was nice as well! Very nice place to stay! Highly recommend for family or groups! Hillcrest Cottages are next door and we had friends staying there too, so was very convenient for all.

This home was great for our family vacation of 5 adults 5 children and fur baby. The house was perfect with a lovely lake view. Hosts were amazing. We would definitely srat there again.

Our family had a great summer vacation at Grandview Getaway on Big Saint. Property is as advertised in the photos--well organized, very clean and lots of great extras (kayaks, firepit, pool table, nice dock, etc). Communication with the owner was excellent--very helpful check in/checkout instructions with directions, prompt response to questions. This property is run how all rentals should be!

Great time had by all (ages 13 to 79). Loved the great lake view, kayaking, and close proximity to activities and amenities in St. Germaine and other nearby towns.

We loved the location of this property and the setup! It is in a great location on the lake — only a few minutes into town and just down from the boat landing. The shallow shoreline is great for younger kids and the flat yard provides lots of room to play.

Everything about this home was wonderful. Would not hesitate to use it again in the future.

The house was great, nice place and location. Great view out on the lake with deer occasionally in the front yard. The house had everything needed and excellent communication with property owner. Snowmobile trails is right out in front of the house, which was perfect, the only tough part was/is, if you have a long snowmobile trailer it’s a little challenging getting in and out from the street.

The property was a very pleasant stay. They have upgraded the furniture and added a TV in the basement which has a nice touch to it. This was our family’s second stay at this property and we had as good of a time as we did the first.

The Grandview Getaway was perfect for our weekend ice fishing excursion. Plenty of room to support 12 adults, location was perfect with the lake just feet away from the back patio with easy access for ATV's and snowmobiles. Hosts were great with communication leading up to and during the stay, ensuring we had all our questions answered. Definitely a great place to stay for any time of year. Looking forward to potential stays in the future!

We loved the house. Really great layout and location. Right on the lake and/or snowmobile trails. Everything you need for a good weekend up north!

Great property on the North shore close to town, restaurants and bars. We were up for the Chamber of Commerce Muskie tournament and enjoyed our stay. The owner was accommodating and allowed us early acces on Thursday and late departure on Sunday.

This property is the best place to bring your family.

I spent a long weekend in St. Germain in mid September and had an excellent time. The location of this stay doesn't get much better. We swam in the lake, played yard games, pool, grilled, and had a bon fire. A great get away from city life.

Fabulous communication with Jeffrey and Gretchen. No issues with anything in the house; everything was in fine working order. Close to St Germaine, Minoqua, Woodruff, and Eagle River. Very friendly deer.

Our family of 10 enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Grandview Getaway! Jeffrey is an excellent host with great communication. The house has plenty of space. The view from the deck is spectacular. We love Big Saint Germain Lake… plenty of space for water sports, and a nice sandbar. We would definitely stay here again!

This is one of the most comfortable lake homes we have rented in Northern Wisconsin. We go every summer and visit different lakes as we are narrowing our focus on where we want to purchase a lake home. This home has so much space and is so comfortable. Well equipped with towels, kitchen set up, pool table, great deck, kayaks, firepit etc. It was very very comfortable. One of my favorite parts was watching the eagles, there are several on the shoreline, so cool! One FYI - it is VERY shallow by the dock. It is fine for a pontoon but you can't bring a boat with a deep hull. I'm sure it varies somewhat but we used to have a ski boat and we would not have been able to dock it had we brought it. No issues docking the pontoon. I have to point out, because I rely so heavily on reviews when making vacation decisions, that this lake has serious issues with swimmers/duck itch. We thought we were being eaten alive in the middle of the night by mosquitos only to have the pharmacist in St. Germain diagnose us with duck itch. My son had about 50 "bites" on his legs. The pharmacist says that several lakes in the area have this problem. I did some research and saw reviews for other places on this lake where guests had the same problem. I think if you have a lake with a high number of lodges, etc. people don't know not to feed the ducks and geese. Several other children and adults in our party also had issues. We had to avoid swimming off the dock most of our trip which was a huge bummer.

We had a group of 7 adults and 3 kids (all under 10) who all very much enjoyed our week long vacation at the Grandview Getaway. Comfortable space for all, wonderful property, and an excellent host. Would highly recommend!

Great place. Responsive host. Beautiful lake. Nice kayaks and fire pit. Close to biking and hiking. Plenty of functional space for our group of 11 to be together and have downtime for kid naps, reading, etc.
