Perfect place for being centrally located. Easy access to eating,shopping,bus', and sites. Rooms were great. Everything needed was in apartment. If only there was 20 less steps to apartment!

What a location, right in the middle of it all. The stairs were challenging with luggage, but all part of the charm and wouldnt change them, except for the hand rail to continue up past the 1st floor. The apartment was larger then I expected, loved all the original stone throughout. The wifi stopped for a night, and Paul was onto it, had it fixed the next day, once we made him aware of it. Beds were super comfy too. A quality apartment overlooking the royal mile, I loved it.

Two couples on a tour of Scotland. We stayed the first three nights in Edinburgh before heading to the islands. Unit was located on the Royal Mile, very clean and very comfortable. Very much enjoyed out stay at the unit. The stairs to access the third floor unit were a bit challenging with luggage, but well worth it in the end. Great location. Close to everything. Would definitely stay there again.

We had four ladies out on a tour of the UK from Colorado. This was our second city and this unit offered a very pleasant stay. We were able to do laundry, sleep peacefully and get most everything in a matter of minutes. This unit sits on the third floor of a building overlooking the western most stretch of the Royal Mile, immediately before it terminates at Edinburgh Castle. BE WARE OF THE STONE SPIRAL STAIRCASE. We had no problems navigating it, but if you stay here, you'll have some tight stairs to have to maneuver your luggage up and down. So plan accordingly! We had no trouble getting to or from the unit from Waverly train station by taxi. We also did not have any trouble with noise from below evenings or mornings. The unit felt very private with the heavy window shades. We did not cook in the unit, but there seemed to be the basics for small meals on hand. The owner, Paul, was away during our stay, but his brother, Chris, was incredibly responsive when we had a very minor glitch with the boiler. The unit was warm and comfortable, and easy to feel at home in.

Well the taxi couldn't get to Lawnmarket so we had to drag our luggage from the lower end of James Court. Then we couldn't find the actual entrance from the back side. So frustration is setting in. Got a hold of the owner and he directed us to the correct wynd. Dragged our luggage up three flights of spiral staircase. Couldn't get the lock box open. Finally managed to get it open. So you probably think we didn't enjoy our stay? Wrong! Great place. Great location. A bit noisy but really convenient. I'd stay here again but with less luggage!

Perfect hub for August in Edinburgh! Host Paul makes sure guests up to date on important details. Beds comfortable, (and quiet nights!!) Apt close to everything! (ATTN: Stone Spiral staircase entry not suitable for everyone!)

My family and I had a fantastic stay in Edinburgh! It was perfect for our family of four with two teenage daughters. The apartment is located right on the Royal mile and close to everything in old town. It was super close and a quick walk from Edinburgh Waverly train station. Paul was really easy to communicate with and gave us multiple recommendations for restaurants and pubs! We will definitely be back!

This well appointed property boasts a delightful location at the centre of it all. Our host was helpful with great recommendations to enjoy out time. We certainly got all our steps in! Highly recommended!

Location was on point! Walkable to many restaurants, shops, bars, and other tourist attractions. Paul the property owner was very responsive. I stayed with 3 other adults and a 11 year old and we had plenty of space. There is a steep 3 story spiral stair case to get to the 3rd floor which may be more difficult for older renters, but overall it was a fabulous stay with a great view of Royal Mile.

I've stayed at a lot of VRBO properties and this was one of the best. The host was very responsive to our questions/requests and made check-in and check-out super easy. The property itself its fantastic with stone walls and is basically like a cozy cottage in the middle of the royal mile - so close to everything. I would highly recommend this property for your stay in Edinburgh.

The apartment worked wonderfully for a weekend stay for our family of four. The apartment was clean and well kept. It is in the center of everything in Edinburgh and was within walking distance of everything that we wanted to do. The only thing to be aware of is that it is up 3 flights of a stone spiral staircase.

We could not have asked for a better location for our trip in Scotland! Literally on "the Hub," the best part of the Royal Mile, seconds from the Castle, St. Giles, Grassmarket, and Victoria Street. The unit is clean, modern, and has everything one needs. Wi-fi and clothes- and dish-washing machines are a plus. Great mix of modern and olde Edinburgh feel. Better than described in the listing. Beds are comfortable and plush. For those with limited mobility, be aware the steps up three flights of stairs in ancient stone staircase take some getting used to, but add to the old world charm. Paul was a great host, letting us in early and having lots of great recommendations for local restaurants and pubs. Highly recommended!
