Es muy notable el esmero de Maricela y Carlos en la atención: Muy pendiente de los detalles requeridos para tener una estancia genial: Por ejemplo, tienen páneles de energía solar, lo que permite que haya ventilación e iluminación a pesar de los racionamientos de energía que se hacen en Capurganá. Carlos no solo nos indicó la ubicación de los sitios de interés de Capurganá (zona de restaurantes, comercio y playa) sino que adicionalmente nos acompañó a los mismos. La Habitación Familiar es amplia, muy aseada y tiene un balcón relajante. La ubicación del hotel es muy buena ya que está alejada del bullicio nocturno de Capurganá pero cerca (10 minutos caminando) a la playa y sitios de interés de este lugar. Tiene una zona verde muy amplia que genera tranquilidad y aislamiento. Los desayunos que preparó Maricela fueron deliciosos, variados y adaptados a nuestros gustos. Hostal Portal del Sol es muy recomendable.

El Hostal Portal del Sol fue una experiencia excepcional con habitaciones impecablemente limpias y cómodas. Gracias a la hospitalidad de los anfitriones Mari y Carlos, fueron maravillosos y estuvieron muy pendientes de nosotros en toda nuestra instancia. El hostal cuenta con paneles solares, lo que fue un súper plus ya que en algunas ocasiones quitan la luz en el pueblo y aún así pudimos tener luz y ventilación todo el tiempo. Lo súper recomiendo. Sin duda volvería mil veces ☀️❤️

El amor que le impregnan a cada plato de comida no se compara con nada, todo estaba espectacular, cuidaban cada detalle y además cuidaban de nuestra salud ya que tenían desayunos completamente balanceados, una gran variedad de sabores que encantan y dan Alegría ver un arcoíris de colores desde el primer alimento del día

This is a really nice hotel run by a lovely couple. We had the family room between 4 of us and it was nice and big with comfortable beds. It's a bit of a walk from the port, but it's a really peaceful spot and you're at the trailhead for Sapzurro so really useful if you're doing this hike. They provide juice on arrival and coffee in the morning and you can order breakfast in the morning.

The electricity went down a few times, but this is just the location of the town since it happens sometimes since it's remote.

Portal del Sol is a hidden jewel! It is run by the most adorable couple, Carlos and Maricela, who were very helpful, attentive to the needs of their guests, and kind. Portal del Sol is tucked away in a lush garden setting and is located adjacent to the Sapzurro trailhead. It is quiet and peaceful, and an easy 10 minute walk to the center of Capurgana and to the beach. When I first arrived, Carlos gave me a tour of Capurgana, pointing out places to eat, swim, shop and how to find my way back to Portal del Sol. Hint! Look for the blue wall. My room was clean and simple with everything a person needs to be comfortable - bed, fan, shower and toilet. Now let’s talk about the breakfasts. THE BREAKFASTS!!! They were incredible, with something different and unique every day, including fresh juice from one of Carlos and Maricela’s many fruit trees. Breakfast often included a traditional Colombian dish, too. So good and filling, you won’t need to eat again until dinnertime. And you get to enjoy your breakfast in their lovely garden - the perfect way to start your day! Portal del Sol is a small establishment, with just 3 (or maybe 4 ) cabins. Everything was well-cared for, tidy and super safe. I stayed at Portal del Sol six nights and could have easily stayed much longer because it was so comfortable and because of the hospitality of Carlos and Maricela.
