Lovely property, very clean, ample parking, secure gated community, all the facilities and some at the house. Nice welcome gift of local coffee and bananas. The views over San Jose beyond the pool were amazing at both day and night. Atenas is a nice town. Sandra our host made some recommendations which were great. Monsoon, La Jardin as well as some other places we found in the hills. Costa Tica is lush and beautiful and it would be great to go back and explore further.

This house is amazing. The pictures really do not do it justice. Even my teens agreed. With the amazing views, lots of outdoor space and a lot of indoor space for us to spread out, we could not have picked a better place to stay. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We all loved having our own private pool and hot tub that we could use 24/7. The kitchen had everything we needed. And it was very convenient having our own washer and dryer in the house. There is no AC, but we never had an issue with the many ceiling fans, floor fans, and slider doors. I highly recommend this rental.

The house was incredible, and the pictures do not do it justice. We stayed 5 nights and I wish we stayed longer. Sandra, Marco, and Klaas were amazing, and they helped organize all our adventures. We did the private catamaran with Neil, the speedboat with Robert and Ziplining. All of those were amazing. We will definitely be back!

View great, floors slick. Bugs in green season. HVAC would be welcome, nights especially. Very pretty and non rain sunsets nice. Quiet town, very.

Sandra's home was an amazing place to relax and enjoy all the beauty Costa Rica. The pool was great and the views could not be beat. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make meals as well as welcome coffee that was very appreciated. The beds were very comfy and each room has fans too keep cool. 10/10, recommend staying at Sandra's home. Her husband and her were knowledgeable on the area and able to give us multiple recommendations and provide transport from SJO.

The home is absolutely gorgeous. The views, the location and proximity to downtown Atenas, as well as being mostly central to San Jose, Jaco, and La Fortuna. Sandra, our property manager, was very friendly and accomodating. The home had a beautiful chefs kitchen with all the dishes and cookware you can think of. The home is also located within a manned gated community for added safety. The reality though, is no matter where we were in Costa Rica, we never felt "unsafe" or uneasy. There were a few things we were disappointed with. First, the bugs. I know Costa Rica, our location in particular, has it's share of creepy crawlers and such. The home and yard/patio area and pool however, were infested with roaches. There were new dead roaches (some alive) inside the home on an hourly basis. We were constintely finding them in our rooms on the floor, in our bathrooms, on the kitchen floor, outside on the patios, pretty much everywhere. Spiders were also an issue. One afternoon we came home and there were at least a dozen or two little worms sitting on top of the bed comforter in the master bedroom. No idea what kind of worms they were or where they could have come from. One night, the roaches and bugs crawling around outside on the patio area was so bad, we could not sit out there. Lastly, there were a few occasions where Sandra either did not respond to our texts or the response was very delayed. It only added to our stress on the day of check-out.

We had a great time at Jewel Villa. The house is as described or better. It is very spacious house. The view is breathtaking! You wake up every morning in awe of the view of San Jose and the mountains. House was fully equipment with the essentials. The house has no air conditioning. We really enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. We loved the house. The neighbourhood is exclusive and secure with gate entrance. If renting a car, a 4x4 is recommended as some areas are very steep. The house was very clean and check in process smooth. Sandra and Klaas were very attentive and responsive. They set us up with several tours - we enjoyed them all! We had the private chef one night, Guillermo. The chef and his team were super friendly and the food was superb! We got the surprise beef 3 course menu. The small town of Atenas is nice, safe and with a lot of great food. During our stay, we did find some bugs in the house. We alerted Sandra and Klaas and they reacted right away by applying products around the house in 2 occasions. They told us it is common in CR to have bugs outside since it is rainforest, and sometimes bugs get inside. After the products were applied, it takes a few days for the bugs to be fully eliminated, so unfortunately we did see bugs here and there during our stay. Overall, our stay at Jewel House was superb! We would love to be back.

The property is amazing. Wonderful views - could not ask for better. Great house with plenty of amenities. Very comfortable. Location is great for exploring the country or just chilling. Wish I could have stayed much longer! The property managers were excellent. Everything you need and more!!
