Check in was easy. We arrived in the evening to find that the bathroom light didn't work at all so couldn't have a shower that night, however we contacted the host about this and he answered straight away and sent someone round to change the bulbs the next morning, so we were happy with the communication from the host. Parking was available, the heating was easy to use, the bed was comfortable, the bedding and towels were clean and there was lots of storage space throughout the apartment. The location is good, it's a nice area and lots of pubs/restaurants around, we had a car so it took us about 10 minutes to

The cleanliness of the apartment was dissapointing. The carpet as you walk in was very grubby, the whole place had a stale smell to it and the bathroom smelt strongly of damp. The floor in the dining area was very sticky so much that your shoes would stick to it, there were bits of food under the sofa and on the floor in the front bedroom and the toaster was coated in dust. There were hairs in the bath and the plug was very dirty, not sure if the bath had been cleaned at all. The only frying pan was coated in grease so this had to be washed before using. From the level of cleanliness I highly doubt the apartment was hoovered or mopped or given a good wipe over, it seemed like the beds and towels were changed and that was as far as the cleaning went, which is pretty bad for a £50 cleaning fee. The facilites were mainly good, but the shower screen did have a hole in the corner so everytime you took a shower water would just leak onto the floor (maybe thats what was causing the damp smell). The sofa was extremely hard and uncomfortable but maybe thats just personal preference, not alot can be done about that.

If you don't have a car be prepared to spend on taxi's/public transport as it's over an hour's walk into town or a 10/15 minute taxi journey, and there aren't many local amenities close by. Bit of a funny smell when you first come in.

Stair carpet needed replacing, very dirty but also gave off an unpleasant smell. The front bedroom windows because bay window roof leaked badly when it rained.Plus other minor items.

Leak in the front bedroom. I have to say there was a huge storm in the area which exasperated the problem. Spoke to the owner who is getting it sorted. Don't let this stop you from booking the apartment.

it’s in a quiet street in Low Fell and nicely decorated. had everything we needed for a weekend visiting friends in the area.

tastefully decorated, quiet safe location, close to town, great communication from host, nice touches with salt, olive oil etc.

bathroom wasn’t as clean as it could have been. tight stairs but that’s typical for properties in this area so we know that’s inevitable.

Before our arrival, we had a phone call with someone to confirm our dates and let us know about checking in and send an email with all the details we needed. We had someone available to message for any help at the flat if needed and the instructions were easy to follow in terms of getting keys etc. The flat is beautiful and is in a lovely location, to get into the centre of town it is easier to use Uber or a taxi, but these are easy things to figure out, and was only a 10 minute drive. For our first time in Newcastle this made our experience so much better than we thought, and we will be returning!
