Location , quiet, liked wood stove, and decor.

Overall our stay was alright but not after a great deal of effort to get everything working. Despite expecting that the cabin is a bit more rustic, the place has out of date amenities that are not ideal. What we liked * Place is clean and organized * Things were prepared and ready for us to use * Check in and check out process are straightforward * Host is quick to reply and responsive What we didn’t like * Heating system downstairs didn’t work well. Heating vents were weak and it took forever to warm up the house. Very cold at night and next morning. Host prepared space heaters for each bedroom but the living room was cold. We also couldn’t use the space heater because it would cause power surge and we losing power * Water issue. Cold water was brown when we got in the house and only started clearing after a while letting it running. Toilets were dirty and not cleaned. Showering hot water has a smell of iron which was unpleasant * Stairs to the upstairs is very steep. Would not recommend anyone with leg or hip issue to use. Overall the place was ok to stay as a rustic cabin, but the heat and water issue were concerning.

The place was very dirty. We had to run the vacuum. There was broken glass in the carpet. Hair and dirt in bathroom. Cobwebs everywhere. Stains and crumbs on surfaces. The water is full of minerals that leave everything stained. The toilet and shower were disgusting. The water is not drinkable. We had to buy jugs of water. This was not stated in the web sight. Sheets were so thin and had holes. The spare sheets had to be washed since they had bugs and webs in them. The oven was broken. When I called customer service found that they were in another country and could barely speak English. A repairman was suppose to call to set a time to check oven. However he showed up two days later unannounced and let himself in. Was lucky my husband was present. Not good to show up if we’re not there. Was told they knew oven didn’t work but couldn’t find a replacement stove. So that should have been stated in website. Was not happy that we booked this through VRBO then find out it was run by a third party Vacassa. Was charged for cleaning fee that I requested back due to having to clean the place myself before we could unpack. No one would ever get back to me about any refunds. Plus was charged a nonrefundable damage deposit. Clearly nothing has been fixed there. We found a camera in the basement which is very unnerving. Not to mention a listening devise in the kitchen. Which we unplugged. This place should not be rented out until major repairs and cleaning is done.

Location is great for winter activities. Bed linens and towels are excellent. Good internet and entertainment with games, books and foosball.
