We would have given a better rating but…
the toilet was literally 12” off the ground!!!
they charged an additional $15.00 per day parking which we were not informed of and the property is already overpriced!
No indoor pool!

Very convenient for us in regard to the distance from Del Mar racetrack as we were there for the Breeders’ Cup. It was very clean & well kept. The beds were very comfortable! The daily breakfast was excellent. The staff was helpful & friendly.
The only thing they should do away with is a parking fee. I think they include it as part of the room price & give a permit for the duration of the stay as $15 daily is a bit excessive…
Other than that it was great! It’s a very nice place. I recommend it!

Our stay was good. It was easy to check in and get our baggage to the room. The hotel was clean and pretty quiet. It was a great location despite not being as close to the beach as we thought but still pretty centralized. Our only complaints was the room temperature. The ac was too cold at 71 but too hot at 72. We had a challenge changing the temperature initially but we were able to figure it out. The second thing was there wasn’t enough ventilation in the bathroom. The fan didn’t stay on and there are no windows that opened in the room so the room was pretty stuffy after a shower. Lastly, the parking fee was excessive. There were no street parking options so you are forced to pay the $15 a day.

Nasty old place. Windows didn’t lock. Noise noise noise. Tv remote broken Air conditioner had sticky stuff alll over it. Employees should not work in hospitality.

The front desk clerk when I checked in was very unpleasant and NOT friendly at all. She did not make me feel welcome, when she asked questions, her demeanor was as if she was mad at me. The air conditioner is control by management NOT guests and my room was very hot and couldn’t adjust it, my stay was not pleasant at all. They charge $15 per day per parking when it is an open parking lot in the property, doesn’t make any sense at all, there’s not even a security guard! Again, one of the worst places I have stayed.

No close walkable bar. Drove to a restaurant/bar called Waves about a mile or two away. Expensive but excellent contemporary drinks and food.

Property was difficult to find…no beach access Even though They advertise it’s close to the beach. Over a mile walk downhill to the beach and very little public access to the ocean must cross a major thoroughfare to get to the beach itself. For older guests the walk back to hotel would be impossible due to the extreme hill. Definitely not will be expected. Beds were old not comfortable and the pillows were flat. Would not recommend!

Absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The pool is heated and the jacuzzi is really nice. It was nice and quiet at night. The free breakfast in the morning was really good with a variety of good options.

Staff seemed lovely enough and were as accommodating as possible. Our first room smelled like urine. I asked to be moved and when we got into the new room it smelled of air freshener & cigarettes. I know they can’t control what previous people have done to the room, but it was intolerable. My daughters and I were supposed to stay 2 nights, but we checked out the next morning. The bathtub/shower was peeling off and our feet were black from carpet. We slept on top of the bedding for fear the linens hadn’t been washed. I already reached out to you, Expedia, and 2nd night has been refunded. Thank you for your understanding.

First night awakened by barking dog and 2nd floor back entrance door closing several times, probably to let the dog out. They must’ve left because the second and third night were quiet. Food was typical of a hotel, good selection. Pleasant lobby and dining area. This is our 3rd time staying here.

This place was a quick stop for us. One night. Our room was clean and nice. Nothing bad about this place. Staff is great and breakfast was a plus. Breakfast area is very clean and organized.

We had no issues and the property was fine. The cost was over 300/ a night which in my mind is a 4 star. It was clean and comfortable enough but more like a 2.5 star. I just expected more for the price. It was a clean budget motel

I did not like the fact that there were 3 dogs in the room right next to me on a couple of the 5 nights that I was staying there (barking). Also the smell of the rug cleaner that was used for pets was making me sick. I just had to get used to it. Had I noticed that this was a "pet-friendly" property, I would not have stayed. So I will not be booking here again.
