We were greeted very warmly and kindly. The staff cleaning the rooms were very gracious and friendly. The hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable, the pool looked really nice, and we appreciate it having an outside door come in. The breakfast was very nice! We will be back!

The lobby of the hotel was nice and neat, and I was greeted immediately by the front desk. Check-in was a breeze. The room had both a hallway door as well as an exterior door, which was nice for unloading/loading.
The pool area needs help. The bottom of the pool is very stained. The jacuzzi had dirt gathered in the bottom (I decided not to use it). The pool area furniture is obviously quite old, and most of the color has faded out of many chairs. The ladder to enter/exit the exterior portion of the pool was roped off with caution tape. The plastic curtain over the "channel" between the inside/outside pool areas is also very worn and faded. At the time we were visiting, there was also a very loud dehumidifier running in the pool area.
The room itself was nice - large comfortable bed, TV in good shape, lamps all worked, bathroom was clean and inviting.
Overall, I'm not sure that the stay overall was quite worth the $200 that I paid. Had I known about the pool condition (which was a good part of why I booked this location), we would have looked a bit further afield in perhaps Spring Green or Mineral Point.

Indoor and Outdoor pool areas need to be updated, but pool time was a lot of fun- the kids enjoyed it!!
Our room was VERY clean and hall and entry ways were clean and well taken care of. Check In was a breeze even though we were a little early.

Not much around there for a good sit down meal. Had to drive to another town. Hotel was ok nothing exciting just for a night stay. Pool area looked old didn’t use it.

A very clean motel conveniently located just off the highway. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. Food and shopping are within walking distance. This will be our go-to stay in the area from now on.

The room was big and spacious. The interior was clean and kept up.
The doors to the outdoor pool lock with no rented into the indoor pool, only entrance is through the plastic entry within the pool.
The pool floor and whirlpool looks as if it is not cleaned daily, there was a lot of (what looks like) scum.
Breakfast was fine.

It is not easy to find a decent hotel in this small town but this hotel was good enough for a weekend. Had a terrific breakfast buffet.

Pictures looked good on line however the outside pool area needs attention. The chairs are flaking and pool was filthy with leaves and garbage! The outside area by pool has so much potential but in the state it's in should be closed!

Very friendly staff - decent breakfast w/ hit food, but was shut down early on our last day. Kitchen helper did feel bad & made my youngest daughter a couple pancakes. Clean room - but found someone's fleece behind a chair that was missed. Sofa is a sleeper - it wasn’t advertised as one, so wondered if the bedding already on it was clean? Pool was great & is indoor/outdoor and was heated.

This property is great. Safe, super clean, very pleasant staff, easy and safe parking. Next time i am in the area, i will definately be back. A pleasant experience having my bed made and room cleaned in my 2 night stay. Thank you.

Accidentally booked the handicap accessible room. The door was difficult to open, the bathroom door was difficult to close and very noisy. There was no clock and no nightlight which made finding the bathroom at night difficult. The light in the bathroom was connected to the loud exhaust fan, so we couldn't leave it on all night, we improvised by unplugging a lamp and putting it in the bathroom, leaving it on all night. We normally stay here on our Iowa trips and like the staff. Just want handicapped people to be aware.

The front desk staff was ready to check me in within a reasonable amount of time, was incredibly courteous and considerate of my needs, and wanted to know more about my stays at other hotels. I'm so far very impressed with my stay.
The room is perfect! Clean and well made with ZERO smells! This is an area most hotels lack in and I greatly appreciate the attention to detail with this!

The room had a very foul musty smell to it. The bathroom floor was dirty. The pool and hot tub were black in the bottom, and the pool area itself was very musty smelling, like they don’t have enough ventilation in it. The breakfast was much to be desired.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Breakfast ran out of eggs and sausages before we got there and it took over 15 minutes for more to come out. Our room door took some jiggling to get to latch and it looked like others had the same issue. No elevator, but they offered to carry the bag up if needed.

if you have pets use caution !!! I booked this PET FRIENDLY hotel- there is no way to note that I have a pet in the reservation..... I was told when I got there "they had no more pet friendly rooms" and I could not have a room.
I had no other options for a place to stay- and they would not budge unless I agreed to make my pet stay in the truck outside in the 45 deg rain. So I had no other options but to stay and set my alarm every hour to go check on the puppy. you are either pet friendly or NOT.... and this hotel is NOT

Owners are clearly in the process of updating the hotel. The new paint, carpets, bathroom, updates, and other additions look great. I wish them well. They are clearly working hard. Great little breakfast in the morning.

We stay here every time we go to House on the Rock. Its always been fine but this last visit was great. The woman at the front desk was training a new woman and they were both friendly and efficient. The room was a good size and very clean. There is a small pool that is half indoor and half out door that we slways get a kick out of. The breakfast is pretty average but its free and the woman tending it was very nice and it was very clean. Guy that checked me out in the morning was also very friendly. No issues at all. We will definitely be back next year.
