Stepping onto and into the property was like taking a step back in time. The furnishings, the atmosphere, just exceeded expectations, to say the least. Beautiful, cozy, friendly, etc. The staff were amazing (hospitable and knowledgeable). The breakfast was superb. Certainly a location and experience we won’t forget anytime soon.

First time at a Bed & Breakfast. Did not know what to expect but definitely worth it. All the cool Victorian antiques were nice to look at. The breakfast was amazing also. Bed was comfy. If we are in the area again, we would definitely try to book a room here, maybe try a different one (ours was the Ginny Woodland)

Found this jewel on the Mississippi river. It is an amazing place to spend quality time and relax in elegant luxury. A staff member greeted us at the entrance, gave a whole house tour and ensured we got settled. Plan to visit again in the summer for one of their special dress-for-dinner evenings like the Murder Mystery. The 5 star breakfast was delicious and filling.

Historic old building decorated appropriately for the turn of the century (1900). Rooms nice blend of modern amenities and old décor. Very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Superb hot breakfast the following morning. Quiet stay.

My sister and I stayed there for an evening for a wedding reception that was in town. We loved everything about the place. The rooms are so quaint and comfortable. The food was amazing and the staff was outstanding.

Our stay was amazing from start to finish. We felt like Victorian aristocrats, living in a mansion. The staff were wonderful, and we wanted for nothing. The views from the porches and verandas and the roof are spectacular. The room had a spa tub, certainly a plus. The only down side are the stairs, not suitable for physically disabled persons, but the ground floor has a room and all the amenities.

The mansion is beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic. However, the only climate control for the room was the fireplace for heat or opening the window for cooling it down. We were in Ginny's forest view room which had no screens on the windows, so we ended up with a wasp in our room. That room is right by the stairs, so the lights were shining into our room all night from the decorative window over the door into the hall. That room is also over the kitchen, and they ran the dishwasher from 10:30pm to 11:30pm which was exceedingly loud. The jacuzzi tub didn't work. I would go back, but not stay in that room.

We have stayed at Mont rest more than a dozen times over the course of the past few years. It is and incredibly quaint and well-maintained Victorian home, with impeccable service, best breakfast I've been served at any bed and breakfast I've stayed, and just a quality of service that makes us want to keep coming back. The property manager, Naomi is outstanding and makes everything work. The staff is incredibly friendly.

Architecture is so unique and is set on the side of a hill for views. We were told to use the house as if it was our own. Plenty of great snacks. Nice bed, het bath & all other amenities.We did not get enough food at breakfast. There were 10 of us at the large table and we quickly ran out of potatoes and sausage. I know that many of us either did not get these items or very little. When asked if there was any more the staff said no and that was the end of that discussion.Unfortunately this didnt set too well with almost all of the guests....dont mess with our included opening daily meal.The stay was very except for the breakfast!

This is a beautiful and historic property set upon a hill above the town of Bellevue with a view of the Mississippi River. The decor and furnishings are charming and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. If you’re passing through the general area this place is worth going out of your way.
