Pool wasn’t available for whole evening.
Breakfast was terrible. Juice machine service highly diluted watery juice, hot breakfast was empty and replacement took forever. Oatmeal was never refilled even though breakfast hour was still going on.

We were sadly disappointed with our stay, especially for the cost of the hotel per night.
The facility itself is not being maintained. Although the lobby is very beautiful and was recently renovated, the hotel room had a strong chemical smell (similar to what a urinal smells like), and the bedding had large brown stains on the pillow cases and sheets. The laminate flooring in the room is damaged and buckling. It appears they used a residential, low traffic product that is not holding up well. The view was also nothing special, as it was essentially of the alleyway.
The body soap and shampoo are held in large containers mounted in the shower for all guests to share, and the body soap was clumpy and discoloured. When we asked the front desk for replacement soap, we were rudely offered 2 miniature personal use soap bars for an entire family.
There were no extra blankets or pillows in the room either (usually found in the closet or drawers).
The pool facility is in poor condition. The safety handrail is completely loose and very dangerous, pool water was cloudy and caused our eyes to burn and my child to develop a rash. The pool lining is worn out and buckling beneath your feet in the water, creating a trip hazard. The edge of the pool is discoloured and has a dirty brown coloured mildew around its entirety.
The breakfast was very decent, however, we were there very early so I am not sure if that quality was maintained after the morning rush arrived.

There was limited parking in the hotel lot. Rooms were modern and very well appointed. New bathrooms. Unfortunately we had two conditioners and no shampoo (pump bottles in the shower were a great idea). Staff were very friendly, offered helpful advice and agreed to store our freezer packs overnight in their freezer. Lots of noisy families staying at the hotel when we were there which may not be always be the case. Great breakfast but things ran out quickly. Hotel is located a distance from the downtown area but close to the highway. Mostly, a great stay.

There were hockey tournament people here who were disruptive. Loud, children running up and down halls, drunk adults in the lobby. The breakfast bar was a disaster zone. The pool was a mess and had no towels.

One of the 2 rooms we rented was infested with bed bugs. They upgraded the room with one that was worth $30 more than the ine with bed bugs. No need to say we didn't sleep well and lost the following morning cleaning every piece of clothing we had with us. Pretty disapointing custumer service experience.

Unfortunately, our stay at the Holiday Inn Express was very disappointing. The hotel is located near an arena, and there was a hockey tournament this weekend. There were dozens of teenagers intoxicated and screaming in the hallway from 10 PM to 2 am. The poor security guard was overwhelmed and was not able to control them. We could sense that this hotel is usually okay despite being a bit overpriced. The breakfast was good, and the room was clean. We understand that some events are out of the hotel's control, but we were extremely disappointed by the customer service the next morning. We were told that "things like that happen", that "it's out of their control, and they cannot start reimbursing customers for things like that". No excuse, no manager on the weekend to talk. It was a bit rude for a small family that didn't sleep that night.

I had ripped towels on the edges basically falling apart, and then they after two days they cleaned my room and had another ripped towel, and one good towel. To give them credit the towels looked cleaned just needed to be taken out of services especially if you are to give them to a guest. Never had that happen to me in a hotel.

Check-in was very pleasant, staff were all friendly and helpful, breakfast was adequate for this level, the room was spotless and surprisingly comfortable. Everything we needed was there from USB plugs, to electricity sockets, to wardrobe space, hanging space, and aircon/heating that worked and was easy to control.

Sorry to say but customer service is so pathetic no welcoming and in the bathroom it mentioned please call if we forgot any toiletries We called and they said it cannot be delivered to room but come down , When we went just gave brush without paste no welcome at all . They were talking nicely to people before us so not sure what’s the customer service issue was

Personally, I don't like the shampoo conditioner and soap pumps on shower wall! As for gym area, quite small...I was with my grandson and front desk clerk came to say children were not allowed, he is 12...THE SIGN says children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult! so clerk says to me, they haven't changed signs yet! Breakfast was great.
