Had a short but lovely stay at this unique property. The customer service was excellent at every encounter. We arrived super early and the receptionist expedited our room and went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable until the room was ready. Loved how the atmosphere reflected the hotel’s heritage, and its location within the St Edward State Park is exceptional.

The Lodge is a beautiful, quality property. The library is a fantastic place to hang out, with books, games, tv, complimentary snacks & multiple, very clean bathrooms. The room was spacious and clean, the beds/pillows were the most comfortable ones I've ever slept on/with at any hotel. The bathroom had double sinks, spacious and very clean. The restaurant was elegant yet comfortable, the food in the bar (burgers/fries, flatbread) were the best tasting ever. We only stayed 1 night, so no time to use all the equipment they have to lend to enjoy all the property and state park it's on. Would highly recommend more than 1 night; you'd have a great rest, an amazing meal and wouldn't need to go very far to enjoy all the fun activities the property and park have to offer.

Our stay at the place was very relaxing. We got to walk around the park, bike to the lake. The food at the on-site restaurant was good. Overall we enjoyed the short stay and would consider coming back!

Appreciate that valet was included. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the art gallery hallways. Also appreciated their details, welcoming me w some birthday treats and items for my dog.
There was an odd “vibrating” sound that would occur around 6-8 times an hour in the room. The a/c unit on the ceiling had a loose cover that would hang. The toilet ran for a bit as well. These made it hard to sleep.

As a long time visitor of St Edwards State Park, this was my first time staying at the lodge since it’s opened. I was quite impressed - the rooms are well done and extremely quiet, and the building is done well.

This is such a hidden gem. The staff and the rooms, dining, area, ALL 5 star. I can’t express it enough. And there is complimentary valet? Unreal. I will be coming back in the fall, gauranteed for some R&R amongst the fall foliage.

Property is beautiful! Went and stayed for a wedding. Rooms are beautiful. But the staff was very rude specially at the bars. I won’t go back. For the price service should be better. I will go back for maybe a dinner reservation but not to stay. For the cost, there is no pool or amenities. There are better places to stay. Cool environment for the one time.

I loved how quiet it was. Not a lot of foot traffic either so it was peaceful to do my own thing. I could go on a walk or relax at the spa. Wonderful little spot for a get away if you are looking for a slower pace vacation. Highly recommended if you are looking to relax from the loud atmosphere of the city.

The grounds and architecture made for a visually stunning experience, and the staff could not have more kind and helpful! The extra treats, welcome note, bowls and bed for our pup were so cute and appreciated. I only wish we had had more time to explore the grounds; one night wasn’t enough. We’ll be back!

This was a very great stay! Very quiet and peaceful and just somewhere that I know I can go if I want a peaceful getaway. I wish the restaurant had a little more options when it comes to dining but the food was great as well. The bars were very clean and very presentable and very convenient. This place is absolutely stunning, daytime, and night!

It was wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly. The library had free snacks n drinks. There is a beautiful trail to walk. The only draw back was that there was no refrigerator in the room. I had to store my diabetes meds n it was inconvenient. They also don’t have ramps for the bags to carry to the reception area. I thought that was odd for people in wheel chair.

Room wasn't ready just after 4 pm nominal check-in time, so that inconvenienced me quite a bit, but otherwise good stay overall. Nice staff at the bars and restaurants. Somewhat annoying to pay $28/day 'resort fee' (it isn't a resort), and $10/day park fee (it is in a state park, but they could include that in the daily rate). Hotels should just charge the whole rate up front, rather than these deceptive additional profit fees - so we can more accurately compare and plan our travel budget.
