With so many bus tours, hotel has high traffic volume.

This hotel was charming. There was live music and the staff were overly hospitable. On the downside, our sink didn’t drain, the WiFi didn’t work and the room was stuffy. The rooms could use some updates. But can’t say that I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Very convenient to the town. Parking was not included however there is plenty of parking places nearby.

Quick 8pm to 11am stay on path elsewhere. Preface with hotel under construction but prices the same. Got given 4th floor room. Clearly a room they have not got to yet. Bathroom decent- room old musty no Internet and no tv channels paint peeling off wall. Walked past 3rd floor room as elevator goes to 4 only. And it was nicer. Superb location for a quick stay in donegal town. Centrally located.

Room was noisy with an extractor fan just outside our room. Even with the window closed it was noisy. We complained and even though it was turned off it still made a noise. We complained a further 3 times before we were reluctantly moved. If you get this room complain immediately you will know as it is noisy when you enter the room, don’t accept that it will be fine when it is turned off later in the evening, as we were told.

Nice hotel in the Centre of the Town

Some construction happening during my stay and the room appeared half done.

Our room was uncomfortably warm at all times during our stay (late June and it was NOT a heat wave). No A/C and a window that could only be opened a couple of inches. The loud late-night noise from the pub and club goers who hung around in front of the hotel until well after 3 AM after the bars closed made it hard to sleep, especially if we needed to open the window to try to cool the room. Overnight staff was unsympathetic to our situation.

Too much Smoking ar front entrance.

Excellent, central location. Walkable to everything we wanted. 3 min walk to Donegal Castle. Pay & display parking is off-site but not too far away.

Parking was at a lot down the street.

Property was clean and cozy. All staff we dealt with were friendly, professional very very helpful and responsive. I’m making a trip back to donegal in December and I’ll not consider other accommodation than The Abbey Hotel. Overall very happy with our stay here

Hotel very central to town. Rooms very clean. However, triple room at front small for 4 people. Not enough wardrobe space or chair to sit on for older people. Bathrooms small but clean and manageable. Staff super friendly. Internet didn't work on top floor but did on ground floor.!! Breakfast was great and excellent value. Bar food not so great. Restaurant menu not much different but didn't eat there. Would prefer to eat out in the evenings. Overall great wee hotel and value for money.

Stayed in room 124 and there must have been work going on level 1 as the whole area was very dusty, also got breakfast on the Saturday morning and paid €45 for me my wife and my 10 year old girl and it wasn’t very nice.

It's absolutely amazing stay at the Abbey Hotel, I loved it so much. The stuff are friendly and nice, the restaurant has great options for amazing food. Also the Diamond area is very nice and walkable, where you find great restaurants and souvenir shops. Parking is easy too. There are many sight seeing places within 30 - 60 minutes, Silver Strand is just charming place visit, as well as Sain Johns' light house.

Really enjoyed our stay staff very helpful ... Food in hotel was very nice and entertainment was brilliant ... definitely recommend

I have to give this hotel a 5 star as it is an amazing hotel the was one bad issue which can not be the fault of the hotel as it was only an events doorman by the name of Brian I believe that was nasty and abusive but the hotel was an amazing lovely hotel and literally every other member of staff including the manager was really nice I’d highly recommend this hotel and will hopefully be back again some day

Brilliant weekend staying at The Abbey Hotel in Donegal town.

Large comfortable rooms. Large choice buffet breakfast and lovely bar. Just what was needed for short business trip.

Bar staff not good at their job

Complete disaster totally unorganized heating in room didn't work no hot water stains on floor and seats in the room. New Year's Eve was horrendous total mayhem, they brought coaches of outsiders into hotel without notifying the clients they took over the hotel. Residents could not get accesd to bar or toilets, the room were the show was in totally over crowded, a complete safety hazzard. Residents had no choice but to leave the show and go back to their rooms, the young people they let in totally took over every part of the hotel. Running up and down the corridors banging on the doors. Brought food and alcohol into hotel and management were nowhere to be seen, infact some young one's still sitting in the reception area drunk from night before not even booked in the Hotel. I expect a refund for the night of 31st December it was our Wedding Anniversary, totally ruined we will not ever stay at this Hotel for the New Year EVER again.

Staff were pleasant. Seafood Chowder was not impressed.

Location is perfect and Building and facilities are beautiful. Stunning and quaint town. Rooms are nice however the King bed we had was not the most comfortable. We ate at the bar and the food was good but the bar quite cold in temperature. Overall it was a very nice experience.
